I am taking stills from an animation of a land based radar setup for monitoring sea ice. In photoshop, I use the path tool to delineate the edge of the landfast ice, and I want to save the line only with the pixel coordinates, so I can put that line on any image from the animations and it will be in the same place.
I want to join two paths to create a shape that I can fill but at the same time retain one of the original paths (the red one in the image below). I can copy the path I want to retain but surely there is a more elegant solution. See below for for an illustration:
CS6 - Is it possible to rotate multiple objects independent of one another? In other words selecting say 9 object in a grid then rotating the all 30 degrees on their own axis.
I downloaded a .psd file that is a catalog mockup. The document contains a smart object that looks like a catalog lying on a table top and I want to take my catalog art and place it in this smart object so that it looks like I've taken a nice photograph of my design work. That is the easy part!
What I want to do now is duplicate that smart object, put it underneath the original so it is peeking out and tilt it a bit. Then I want to put the back side of the catalog art on it so that it now looks like I've got both the front and back showing. Only problem I keep running into is that now when I click on the 2nd, duplicated smart object and put the different art (back of catalog) on it, it updates the original, first smart object that I want to show the front of the catalog.
Basically I want the two smart objects to not link and update each other when they are in the same document. I can't find anything online so far and am running out of time. I even tried calling Adobe and that WAS A MESS.
I've created a pattern fill layer and assigned a vector mask to it. How do I move the pattern around without affecting the mask? I realize if I want to rotate the pattern I'd need to convert it to a smart object, but if I only need to adjust the pattern location there must be some way to do that without moving the vector mask along with it. A traditional layer shows the vector and raster mask layer with a lock icon, but fill pattern layers are different for some reason.
How can i make frosted glass effect like a independent layer, which i can use with any picture. It should look like smart object with smart filter, but i won't convert every picture to smart object, because my psd document include many picture. Anyway i will be able to use this filter on any place for every picture.
There are number of very good authors out there when it comes to Photoshop; Jeff Schewe, Martin Evening, Matt Kloskowski to name but a few. However I can’t find any good instructional/reference books when it comes to Premiere Pro.
The kind of book I’m looking for would describe Intermediate to Advanced techniques covering video ingestion to export but using Premiere Pro [CS6 or CC] as the Software medium, possibly including After Effects but not as the main subject.
The PDF manual for PremPro CC [and associated links] is great but no substitute for a well thought out reference book by an independent author. The Adobe Classroom series are also quite good if you want to follow a step be step guide. Not much use if you want a detailed description of some s/w aspect, or think out of the box.
I'm attempting to run an FEA of a preliminary design to isolate the best locations for weight reduction. When I attempt to do the analysis with convergence criteria of
Maximum number of h refinements: 2Stop criteria: 8%h Refinement Threshold: 0.5
I get the following issue:
Mesh failed: Face failure: Spar:1Model separates into 36 independent componentsSoft spring was added Is there anything I can do either model or simulation wise that will keep the model from separating?
I've been trying to create a fade-style edge transition that works regardless of the background the object is placed on. I've tried the blend tool and the shadow tool.
The blend tool gave a good result on a colored background, but it was terrible when the object is moved over anything lighter. The shadow tool was better at handling differences, but I can't find a way to make the shadow the proper color. I need the object's color to just edge-fade into whatever background it is on.
In Revit 2012, I have a plan view (overall, first floor) which is "Independent" but also shows another view as the "Referencing Sheet." When I visit the sheets referenced, I can't identify a reference. The problem is that the "Referencing Sheet" is showing in our title block and we'd prefer to show a blank for Independent views.
Instead of forcing users to download and instal external plugins in order to accomplish this, why dont you instead make your insanely expensive software do what it is supposed to? Thats my question. You charge enough for it, and that is an insanely obviouse piece of functionality that should be available.
I created a circle, then drew line segments from the radius to the edge of the circle in 15 degree increments by copying and repeating. Now I'm stumped. Can I somehow divide this to create independent wedges?
Let me explain my situation: I have a website where I publish my Illustrator documents as exported JPEG files. The website has a certain RGB-color background. And my illustrations have the same RGB-color background. Those two backgrounds have to match perfectly, in order to produce a nice effect. They do match in Firefox 14, but they don't match in Safari 6.
So, I need my exported JPEG files to have browser-independant colors. I read everything I found on the Internet on this topic, but it's just general stuff about Color profiles and the Edit > Colors... menu and color differences between browsers. NOT A SINGLE TUTORIAL on the whole Internet on how to produce browser-independant JPEG files using Adobe software.
Currently, I am exporting my Illustrator documents using an AppleScript, in order to save time:
Export docRef to file (myPath) as JPEG with options {quality:60, optimization:true, antialiasing:true, artboard clipping:true, saving as HTML:false}
But you don't have to give me an AppleScript necessarily. Just give step-by-step instructions on how to do this in Illustrator, and I will automate it myself. I know that PNGs are browser-independant, but I would prefer JPEGs, because the size is smaller.
I have a user with an alignment that has the stationing labels in 20 and 60 scales annotative. He needs to move one of the 60 scale labels because at that scale it overlaps another label nearbye. However when he makes the 60 scale the active scale and selects the label and moves it with a grip like normal, it also modifies the positioning of the 20 scale label. Not sure if it matters, but unlike normal annotative text, it does not shadow the other scales when he selects it, though that might be an independent setting.
How can I make an assembly file independent from the part files that went into it? I tried converting it to STL then opening the STL document, but that causes problems with what I'm trying to accomplish.
I have some text that I put on a sine-wave path using the PathDeform modifier. Is there some way to make that shape permanent, independent of the sine-wave spline? The DeformPath mod won't collapse on the stack.
I am working on a block where I need to illustrate counter-rotating objects. How to apply an independent basepoint rotation action that would allow a clockwise rotation?
I have some very long movies and want to insert some short parts of it in the timeline. So i open the movie in the footage panel mark in and out point and press ovelay insert to insert this part in the timeline.Next time i open the same movie in the footage panel to mark the next part i want to insert in the timeleine, my timeline playhead jumps to the time where my playhead of the footage panel is in this clip. is it possible to unlink the footage panel and the Timeline?
I have a project in which I need to do a 3 or 4-way split screen. While it's easy to set that up and position them at the right places, I cannot seem to find a way with which I could change the scale of the video with an Image Matte applied without changing that of the Matte as well. I can use offset and push the video around "underneath", so to speak, but I would love to be able to scale that video underneath as well. I know that could be done with a layer on top obscuring the video below but I find that rather cumbersome, especially with 4-way or more, adding quite a few more layers.
I'd like to add a sketch to my drawing - a sketch that is independent of any other views. Is it possible to make this sketch have a scale associated with it instead of being 1:1?
Right now I am just overriding all of my dimensions.
