Photoshop :: How To Eliminate Canvas When Selecting Print Size

Mar 11, 2013

So, I have a "Fit Screen" image open with no canvas.   I select "Print Size", and it reduces the image size, but leaves a huge expanse of canvas that I have to drag in to remove.

Where is the setting to prevent that?  (CS-6)

Photoshop :: Panoramic Image/canvas/print Size ?

Apr 30, 2009

I have a Epson R2880 and want to print a series of panoramic prints on it, i have set up the print to be 8x24 inches. When I open the panoramic and give it the size of the paper, CS3 automatically resizes the print, so if i set the image to 8x24 the height of the actual picture is either 8x40 or 3.78x24 .... is there a way to get a real 8x24 print or will CS3 always resize to a fixed set of dimensions ?

GIMP :: Print / Canvas Size - Picture Cut Off (4x6 Paper)

Dec 20, 2013

I used scale image to make a 2.314" x 3" image to print so it'll fit in a frame that I have for that same size. When I print it out the size looks great but it's over on the edge of the 4x6 paper and most of the picture is cut off. I tried, I should use print size and not canvas size but when I change the print size to 4x6 it also changes my canvas size back to 4x6. I still have my original so I can do this again but what I want is a 2.314"x3" image to print out on my 4x6 glossy paper.

Photoshop :: Canvas Size Will Constrain Image Rather Than Cropping Canvas

Feb 23, 2012

I just got CS5.1 at my job. This must be a preference, but when I adjust the Canvas size, it will constrain the image, rather than cropping the canvas. The Anchor in the Canvas Size menu appears outlined (highlighted?) which indicates that this is something in preferences that I can adjust.

Photoshop :: Why It Would Take So Long For Print Dialog Box To Open After Selecting Print

Dec 5, 2012

-PC based system running Windows Home Premium 64 bit8 GB ramLots of hdd spaceCS5.5 Master Suite
-Epson Sylus Photo R1900

Operating system, CS5 suite and printer drivers all updated.

When attempting to print a photo, it can take anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes for the print dialog box to open up. It takes SO LONG that it appears that Photoshop has frozen, but it has not.  The print dialog box opens eventually.  This started about 2 months ago. I have looked at all preferences, assigned more RAM to Photoshop, uninstalled and reinstalled the entire suite, ran all updates, uninstalled and reinstalled the printer drivers - all to no avail.

I am at a loss as to why it would take SO LONG for the print dialog box to open after selecting print? I thought there may be a problem with the print spooler or print queue, but the slowness happens BEFORE the print back system is touched. The print queue is empty, and there is nothing stuck in there.  I've checked.

Photoshop :: Difference Between Canvas Size And Image Size?

2. What's the difference between canvas size and image size?

3. Which tools are only for web design (i.e. tools I can ignore if I'm not doing that)?

4. What's the subselection tool do?

For Photoshop:

1.Why is the original layer always locked?

2. Whats the name of the property inspector in PS? And is it called inspector or manager in FW?

If i chosse 300 dpi then the images I was going to use seem tiny on such a vast workspace - Im confused why does the canvas become so large when changing resolution?

Photoshop :: Image Size, Canvas Size...

Jul 19, 2009

I have a created a new PSD that is 8 1/2 x 11.The canvas size is the same 8 1/2 x 11.I want to put a border around the picture (say 1/2 of an inch all around), and put the finished picture in a Picture frame.  After it is in the frame, you would be able to see the entire picture plus the border. Q.  Should I change (reduce image size) of the PSD to (for this example), 8 x 10 1/2.      Then increase the canvas size to 8 1/2 x 11.  After I increased the canvas size, do a  Paint Bucket fill with white (to create the White border)?  then print the changed size PSD on 8 1/2 x 11 paper so that it will fit into a 8 1/2 x 11 picture frame  I realize I could have just created the new PSD to be 8 x 10 1/2 in the first place.

I am trying to print a 22"x40" print on canvas using CS5 with the Epson 7600.  The image prints fine until about 2/3 of the way thru and then it just stops. This has happened 3Xs now.

On first attempt the resolution was set at 300dpi and the file was about 400+mb.I've flattened the image and reduced the resolution to 200 making the file about 120mb. Same problem!

I printed the same image (at the larger size) on paper without any problem.

Photoshop :: 3 Photos - Print Into A Canvas?

Nov 29, 2011

My dad has taken 3 photos and he wants them printed into canvas for Christmas. I need the images edited to try and get the colour so it matches on all 3. Below is what the 3 canvas images will be like, but as you can see I have tried to get the colour to match but my Photoshop skills are not up to much! The size of the canvas's will be 50cm Square

You will see from the originals I have cropped the image and have tried to make the horizon the same level. So what I am looking for is a square image with the horizon on all three photos level with each other and the overall colour of the image the same.

Photoshop :: Canvas Size Bug

Feb 28, 2008

I was trying to add 5mm around the canvas, when i noticed something strange.

I changed the measurement to cm, then added 1cm to each, Height and Width, then changed the Width measurement to mm (which changed both displays to mm) but only one of the setting changed to mm; the height still had the same value it had when displayed in cm.

This only happens when both Height and Width are changed.

I can use the marque tool to copy/cut and paste the photo unto a new file, and hence get rid of the extra canvas. If this is the way forward, is there a precise way to get the marquee tool to the edges of the photo? Is there a function to snap the marquee to the edge of the photo?

Photoshop :: Canvas Size Question

Jan 29, 2009

I have a strange problem when i send my photo i created with photoshop to a company to make a print.
In photoshop i create a canvas with the size of 20x30 (300ppi). I put some photo's on it so it fit almost the hole canvas. Than i have a little space for a nice border around it. Finished. Send it to a company and when i receive the photo i check the size of it. It is exactly 20x30, so that is not the problem.

The problem is that i now miss some peace of my border. So if i wanna keep the border i have to send a photo with a canvas size around 19x29.
