Is it posible to make folders that sort the brushses after what kind and then load those in cs6
I'm using Photshop CS5.1 on my Mac (OSX 10.5.8) and don't seem to be able to load tpl files.
I put the file in Photoshop's "presets -> tools" folder and tried to open it via the brush presets picker. When I browse for the file, only ABR files are shown, TPLs are greyed out.
I'm having a difficult time figuring out why my PS CS5 is not loading my brushes properly.
I see the brushes however Photoshop does not load their settings. They all are flate and hard.
All my brushes before in PS CS2 worked properly so I don't understand why CS5 is not. And I have loaded CS5 brushes and still does not read their settings.
Do I have to do something first before loading the brushes?
Brushes keep un installing. CS6, Windows7. Is there away to load more then one brush at a time?
View 2 Replies View Relatedi am using ps cs3. i have more brushes than i can display so have created a separate brushes folder within the adobe photoshop cs3 folder. it's on the same level as the presets folder. until recently, i've been able to go to that folder from the 'load brushes' option. now, however, when i select 'load brushes' only a few folders are displayed within the adobe ps cs3 folder.
i can no longer see my brushes folder [the one that's on the same level as the presets folder]. on the screencap, you can see the brushes folder and the presets folder. i should be able to navigate to the brushes folder from within photoshop but it doesn't appear.
this is what i see within ps cs at the same level: why isn't the brushes folder showing from within ps? i've been using it for ages and suddenly it doesn't appear.
anybody know a way to get a picture to look worn or sorta grungy?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have downloaded and "installed" (unzipped to) several grunge brushes from Dubtastic... I unzipped them to the
adobeAdobe Photoshop CS2PresetsBrushes directory.
But within PS CS2 I'll be darned if I can find where/how to activate them! :
I'm choosing the brush tool and then searching through the brush pallette but I just don't see these new brushes. What am I doing wrong?
i tried to make one using a splat brush but its takes a lot of time brushing. is there any easy way of getting that effect?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm making some grunge brushes from a photo and there is some color on the part of the image I want to make the brush. I want to keep the color as it is and make a brush out of it. Is this possible? When I select the area of the image and goto define brush, the brush is just as black and stuff. The reason I can't just change my foreground color is because the image has multiple colors. Anyway I hope someone understands what I want here.
View 2 Replies View RelatedOkay so I got the grunge brushes off of expertstudio but now I need more.... I need stuff to create things like there are on the splash page of teamphotoshop (splash 17, or splash 13). Anyone have some cool brushes I could have? Thanks for the advice in advance.

I am sure the effect is obtained by using a mask, but I've never used masks
I am trying to add some texture to some text by subtracting a grunge pattern from it. I've expanded the appearance of the text, so it is now shapes. However, when I place the texture shape over it and try to subtract it from the letter shapes, it only leaves me with the first letter.
Is there another way to do something like this? I would rather not have to keep subtracting the pattern from each letter individually. I've tried ungrouping the letters, then uniting them in the Paths panel, but it doesn't seem to be working either.
I made a design that consists of multiple shapes; the entire thing has been expanded and grouped. I image traced and expanded a grunge texture that I would like to "cut out" of my design. I placed the texture over the design, selected both Groups (texture and design), and tried Minus Front and Minus Back (among a few others just to test) and the two both leave nothing but a couple speckles from the texture.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI've created a logo with a grunge texture over the font in Illustrator CS5. When I try and create a compound path with the grunge texture I lose the detail. Here's one of the letter to show what it looks like before and after creating the compound path using the minus front pathfinder option. On the left is how I'd like it to look.
Although it doesn't look like much of a difference when printed it flattens out even more. I've tried every grouping option I could think of, used the pathfinder options and used this thread: [URL].... to try creating it using a transparency. Nothing gets the detail I need.
Is this something I can achieve?
Is it possible to use a load statement in a profile to automatically load/unload a cuix?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a project that suddenly won't load. I have 25 versions of it, I save it under a new file name each time in case I need to go back to an older version.
Trouble is most of the versions won't load! Only the very early versions will load. Some of the later version start to load then disappear.
Hardware hasn't changed on the PC, maybe the video drivers have been updated, thats about it.
The brush size on my paint brush and clone stamp are not working properly.
View 1 Replies View Relatedyou can see what i mean in the following picture examples.
Selecting a brush (any 1 pixel) brush

shows my selection . Drawing a straight line

Zooming in to the line (600%) you can see i can draw a marquee through half of it ...

No matter what 1 single pixel brush i use this will happen... no matter which computer i use cs6 on and different copies of the installation. Anyway have any insight into this? frankly... it's somewhat limiting that i can't use the brush for stroking a shape if i need a pixel line and yet soft curves that a pencil won't get you.
I am not very good with photoshop, and if there was a brush tool setting to make it just like an actual paint brush.
