I noticed that the history brush screenshot taken from the fly-out menu (instead of from the camera icon at the bottom of palette) doesn't work. History brush only works if you use the camera icon at the bottom of the history pallette and then select "current layer" for your snapshot from the drop down menu which shows up after you press the camera icon.
View 1 RepliesI am trying to learn layers and layer masks. I loaded an image, than control J to duplicate it. I then added a layer mask. Everything good so far. I then went to filters chose a blur. Then went to brushes with black as my foreground color, I just wanted to brush away the blur, and got an error message. "could not use the history brush because the history state does not have a corresponding layer."

View 10 Replies View RelatedIt's an 8-bit PSD file. One layer (current, preferred edits) needs some pixels from the original (layer 0). I make sure to get just layer0 showing, make new snapshot, mark that for the Hx brush. Target the top layer/visible and go to where I want to repair the pixels. Paint with the Hx brush. NOTHING!
It was occasionally flakey in CS3 and CS5, but this is CS6 and should be rock-solid because I just upgraded.
Win7, maxed on RAM, huge HD, Quad core running at 3GHz each, graphics card enabled etc.
Is there somewhere a list of Adjustments/Modes that the History Brush DOESN'T work with?Perhaps I should re-phrase that.I can get the History Brush to work with say Blur but I can't get it to work with Blending modes or a various adjustment layers.

issue with the component editor in Maya 2012. It seems that the handy slider at the bottom of the editor for blending weights doesn't work. I've installed hotfix 4 and it still seems busted.
View 1 Replies View RelatedEverytime I try to use my history brush, that error pops up and I have no clue why. If I try to just open a blank document and use the brush it does not give me this error and I can "use" the brush but you cant see anything on the project.
so when this error happens im trying to do a project and say I place a file(picture) into the project and this is the very first thing I do. I place it, then I size the image down some. I then make a new layer to use the brush for behind the picture and then this is when I get the error. I have no clue what is wrong
Can I get camera raw 7.2 for CS5 Photoshop without upgrading to CS6 photoshop ? Can I revert to Lightroom 4.1? It worked with my photoshop CS5 camera raw.

I have my own Palette Set.
On this Palette Set I have a palette withe a tree.
On the right click of the node, I call a command (it's one of our own ObjectARX commands, but the problem is the same with a build in command).
The command wants the user to select a point, with a few options. If I first select a point (left click) and then click right, everything works fine.
But If I click with the right button, before I select anything, the menu is not shown.
The code for calling the command is really easy:

As said before... I don't call the _ARC command... but for the arc Command the right click menu is not shown also...What can I do, to get the normal behavior of the right click?
If I click on an eye symbol the symbol disappears, but not the elements on the screen like you should expect. There's also a weird behavior with the lock symbols. If I lock a layer, I can click the paths anyway. The lock symbols doesn't work anymore. The whole layers palette is useless now. I tried to remove the whole "Adobe Illustrator 17 Settings" folder, but that had no positive effect.

I AM connected to the internet (otherwise, I would not be able to post this question). All I am trying to figure out is where in the heck "Text Wrap" moved to since I cannot find it under "Window" or "Text," but realizing I have NO access to help in the program suddenly made THAT the bigger issue here. Do I need to trash my preferences file or something? I'm on a Mac, running Mountain Lion, Illustrator CS6.

View 16 Replies View RelatedSetting the size of a brush to be controlled by "Pen Tilt" (in the "Shape Dynamics" section of the "Brush" window) acts just as if "Pen Pressure" control had been selected.
This behavior can even be reproduced by using the controls in the "Brush Pose" section: overriding the "Tilt X" and "Tilt Y" values has no effect on the size (in a brush where "Pen Tilt" has been set to control size, and with "Tilt Scale" 0), but overriding the "Pressure" value does affect the size.
I'm using Photoshop CC (version 14.0 x64 with the latest updates) in Windows 7 x64, and it's worth noting that the "Always use Pressure for Size", "Always use Pressure for Opacity", and "Enable airbrush" buttons in the toolbar are off, and "Tilt Scale" is set to 0 (since "Tilt Scale" by itsef works according to the documentation). I Also use a Wacom Intuos 3, with driver 6.3.5-3, and pen tilt works great for changing brush opacity or angle. I've seen the very same problem when trying older versions of photoshop (CS5 and CS6).

Before I was able to do in and touch up shadowy areas using (K) adjustment brush, but now it doesn;t seem to work. The radial brush does a good job for a defined area but for SPOT touching I have always used the the adjustment brush?
Is there a setting or am I missing something or is this a bug?

View 9 Replies View RelatedAfter a few seconds in the program the menu with all the slides like insert,view,etc. somehow freezes. i can´t pick it anymore. the rest of the program is working,i can work on the work surface with the current tool, but choosing an ew one isn´t possible. i have this problem with different version 2011,12 and even 13....
Working isn´t possible this way.
I've had this problem in 2011 and 2012 on 2 different machines, but haven't seen it on the bug list, and have seen a post saying the hotkey combo for 'add menu item to shelf' is the same it's always been - Ctrl-Shift-Alt, then selecting menu item.
But when I press that, the menu item executes, but no shelf button appears.
I use this combo - a lot- to make custom shelves per project or need. Frustrated it no longer seems to work.
I used Inventor 2010, but after a change of our Domain, I had some issues with export and mouse customization (one worked with IV running privileged, but the other didn't and vice versa). Reinstalation didnt solve the problem, so I hoped, that a newer version would solve it. Unfortunately the problems remained the same, but I could get it to work (running mouse software also privileged).
Now I noticed, that the 'select other' menu doesn't pop up, regardless of the delay choosen in the settings. Also some function keys don't work: F7, F8, and F9 don't show any reaction, while all other F-keys work.I'm using Inventor Professional 2013, 64 Bit (Build : 200, Release 2013 SP2 Update 2) from our Education Master Suite.
I´m working with LR 4.3 for 3 month but since days the "correction" brush doesn´t work anymore. The overlay button is still active and the system reboot I tried more than once ;-). I miss this function and maybe one of you is able to prevent me from reinstalling.

I recently downloaded Photoshop CS4 for my Windows laptop, and it doesn't have a history palate on the screen! "A high tolerance limits paint strokes to areas that differ considerably from the color in the source state or snapshot"
When I try to use this tool on a image's original state (no difference with the history state) with the 100% tolerance setting, some of the areas can be brushed.
So, I'm a little bit confused about the function of the "tolerance" slider.
From what I have read I think that I should be able to use as a source for the Art History brush any snapshot I have taken of an earlier layer. But when I tick the left hand box (ie put the Art History icon there)to make a snapshot active and then put the mouse cursor over the top layer of the image, I get an error message saying "Could not use the art history brush because the history state lacks a corresponding layer". But I can paint into it (the top layer) using the original image (with the art history brush icon next to it). In other words, I cannot use the art history brush with any snapshot as source.
What I am trying to do is have available two or three layers with different retouching treatments of the same image as snapshots so that I can paint them in to a new blank, but color filled, top layer. So, I want to have for example, a layer with little detail, another with lots of detail and another with increased color saturation and be able to add these by art histor brush into the blank top layer (which is filled with a background color).
I thought this should be possible. At the moment all I can use is the original image as an art history source.
I'm using CS4.
Would like to see some results of your work with History Brush, hope my request is not too personal.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy work bought me a huge new Thunderbolt monitor yesterday, so I took advantage of the real estate and expanded my Layers palette to be very tall, and along with several other adjustments, saved this out as a custom workspace. Today though I am working only on a laptop offsite with no Thunderbolt and the bottom of the Layers palette is offscreen where I can't get to it. I know if I change workspaces to one of the Adobe presets it will give me a standard size Layers palette, but if possible I would like to work within my custom workspace and just change the height of the palette.
