I'm putting images in a web page which has the same background as the image. Problem is, when I save via "Save for web" Photoshop puts a slight 1px Halo around the outside of the image. So when I embed this into the web page it isn't seamless.
I've tried playing with all the gif pref's in the export window, but nothing works.
When I export to a cgm file the callout halo shows up with an outline. This happens in a program called IADS. If I drop the cgm into word the callouts and connector lines do not show up at all. Is there a reason it does that? Also some text will show up doubled or tripled sometimes when converted. If I delete that text re enter it and convert its fine. since not to many company's use cgm format anymore.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm not sure if this is part of PS 6.0 or some kind of technical glitch I caused but I've been using PS for a while now, but never tried doing a rounded bar via a rectangular marque feathered and then filled. However when I do this it gives a gradient effect around and outside of the marque. A "halo" if you will. On top of this it doesn't fill it completely. I can go back over it with the other paint tools and it dyes it more, yet still gives it the halo effect, but more pronounced.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been creating icons for a 3D program for nearly two years now and used to send the icons in PSD format to developers. Just recently I have been sending the icons as BMP at their request but the icons now seem to have the halo effect creeping into them. They want BMP files and they use the upper left pixel of the icon to determine the transparency in the icon as they need a gradient background, and active state and the icons are desaturated when not used.
Anyway, here is the procedure I am trying to solve this but something is going wrong.
1. I use a 3D program to make 3D objects then render the image with a white background at 300x300 as a JPEG. No Antialiasing.
2. I open a new image in CS2, drag the rendered image into it then use the magic wand with antialiasing turned off? and tolerance of 30-40 to remove the white background.
3. Then I use Layers>matting>Defringe to remove any artefacts. At this point the icon looks fine.
4. I resize the image to 26x26 and choose Bicubic interpolation. Finally I drag it into a PSD document as a layer.
5. To get the image into a usable format I have a background layer of pink (RGB: 255,0,255) so that it can define the transparency then I save it as a 24bit BMP.
Problem is, when the developer puts it into the program it has a noticeable pink halo around it. I cannot do any more to remove antialiasing which he tells me is the problem.
Changing file format is not an option...has to be BMP?
Applying the Oil Paint filter (CS6 Windows 7), I get a "halo" effect around certain common objects. Quite a few halos appear and they are not very natural looking. Click on image to get a better look.

This only happens when image is an RGB Tiff and layer mask is used to create transparency. If image is saved as .psd then it is fine. Also when RGB tiff is converted to CMYK then this is also ok.

Ideally I could just start using psd format, but I have to handle a lot of images that are already in RGB tiff and it is time consuming to have to open and re-save all of these.

Working with PS CS5.5. I am needing to create a 1000px x 650px background image for a web application. I would like the resulting file size (PNG) downloaded by the web-site to be in the 50kb realm. What is the general strategy for creating a gradient like the attached file? Â Should I start with a solid background color and overlay the solid with a white gradient layer (center being less transparent) this in my mind would result in the smallest file size given that I could decrease the resolution (of the exported PNG file) without any visible effects on the web-page.

So I duplicated the background layer and created a mask over the player. Then I selected the background layer, added lens blur, and darkened it.

The problem is that this step blurs the image of the subject in the background, causing it to extend out beyond the masked image of the subject on the foreground layer, creating a ghostly "halo" effect.

I have a final image of my image to which I want to apply an alpha as a mask of an adjustment layer.
The image and the alpha have come out of 3ds Max. The problem is that there is a halo around the edge of the mask. This is caused due to transparency at the border of the alpha. I don't know how to get around this.
I was told that there may be a way to do it by dividing the alpha. I see that Photoshop CS5 has a divide blend mode. I don't have CS5.

I did a selection which I masked, on Stonehenge. Then I tweaked the sky quite a bit. However, the actual Henge (when it is unmasked) seems to have a small light "halo" around it. (Not sure hot to attach a pic) I've tried several things, but none do a great job. Tried feathering the selection a few pixels, tried burning the halo, tried "smudging" the halo into the sky, but it still looks a bit unnatural. There may not be a good solution and the picture looks OK, but I think it would look much better without the halo.

I'm wondering if there's a way to streamline this process such that links can be created within Photoshop and exported directly into the PDF file. This would save me the hassle of recreating links in Acrobat every time I modified the resume in Photoshop.

I've read about a Rich Content PDF extension/extra that is typically located in the Extras folder. I was able to successfully locate it and have Photoshop use it, but I don't know how to get links to actually be recognized by this plugin. My original hypothesis was to use slices (designating a region as a slice and then assigning it a link), but the Rich Content PDF export option did not recognize links through slices. Is there another way to do this or another way to create links in Photoshop such that it can be exported to a PDF (either through this plugin or otherwise)?
before the latest updates to photoshop CC one could export from LR a series od Raw images to HDR Pro, create a 32bit file, save and editin LR or CR.
Now, when creating the 32bit file photshops promts a button for edting in Camera Raw instead of the usual "create file" (then to be saved and opened in LR). Which is ok, but if I edit the file in CR and then open it as a Tiff in LR the adjustments done in CR are not visible in the sliders, but not only, the images is of bad quality in LR.
I know absolutely nothing about DTP, and I recently got these product shots of on a CD that are all in EPS format (with a little blue "WARP" on the thumbnail). Anyways, when I fired them into iView Media Pro so that I could catalog and batch manipulate them, I made some thumbnails that automagically had transparent backgrounds!
You see, I was planning on lassoing each of the products from their background myself, but it seemed to be already done for me... except I can't figure out how to export them as jpegs in Photoshop. Every time I use "save as" the backgrounds are also included. If I open the files in something else like Fireworks, the backgrounds disappear... unfortunately FW doesn't allow batch processing of EPS files, so I am going to be forced to open and resave all 120 of these pics if I don't figure out a way to do it in PS.
I am trying to export an Illustrator file into Photoshop. So I am exporting it as ".EPS" and then when I try to either "open" or "import" within Photoshop it gives me an error message (see below). Please help, I have no idea what the problem might me, I've been killing myself all day with this.

This should result in a stretched image, which becomes compressed when it is squashed down for the widescreen format.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI would make any sort of graphic, then save the file to my computer, and the color would be very, very much "off". The color would often times show as lighter, and it's totally not the same color as it were inside the PS workspace. I'll show an example between the photo "before & after". This is happening whether or not I use "save for web" or the save as feature, and whether I save it as a JPG, GIF, PNG, etc.
I took a screen shot of my desktop while I was in PS, and cropped just that section in Fireworks to make the buttonFWG.
I'm trying export a vector image from Illustrator CS 11.0.0 to Photoshop CS 8.0. I go through the process outlined in the manual and succesfully export the file. Everything works fine & I retain my layers (if I use CMYK), but my vectors are gone. The manual says I may need a plug-in but I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong. My only options as far as color goes is CMYK, RGB, or Greyscale. I select CMYK and make sure "Write Layers" is selected, but there is nothing there to specify vectors.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy artists open hundreds of images a day and create paths on that image then export the path to an illustrator file for use with a laser system. In all previous versions of photoshop when you export a path to illustrator in photoshop it would default back to the folder that you opened the image from. CS4 does not. It just tries to save it in the last folder you saved something in. Is this a bug or something that was left out of CS4? I would be upgrading 20 machines to CS4 but this is an absoulute deal killer having to waste time on every image to navigate back out onto the server to find where the original image is located.    Â
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a multilayered psd file (RGB 8 bit, 955 px x 600 px) and have created an animation (8 seconds) using the animation panel in timeline mode. File consists of 4 image layers and 3 text layers. When I choose File/export/render video, The quicktime options are grayed out and all I can do is render jpgs from the sequence.

She uses photoshop for her digital photography. Her friend created some actions and she wants to use them. Neither of them know how to share the actions. Basically what i would like to know is can you export actions and if so how? For example her friend has an action that automatically softens skin. If i was sitting in front of her friends computer, could i export that action to some sort of file and then email or burn it to cd. Then when sitting in front of my girlfriends computer could i import that action?
