View 2 Replies View RelatedI was trying to edit a corridor surface manually by editing points and tin lines but for me its much easier to edit the contours itself so I explode the surface into polylines and fix the contour issues but when i make it into a new surface the Surface does not look clean anymore. When I look at it in the object viewer it looks rough and jagged and doesn't look like a road at all, however my original corridor surface did look clean with perfect roads and cul de sacs i just wanted to fix the contours outside the road. I tried extracting it like i should have done in the first place but when i add the contours to a surface it still looks ugly and jagged. Another thing is that when you look at it in 2D or plan view the contours look exactly the same but when i look at it from a perspective view or 3D that's when you see the difference.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am playing with a design in simulation where the balance is effected by gravity. I have a part at a set angle to start off so a constraint is place and set to this angle, then in simulation I suppress the angle prior to starting the simulation to see what happens. Then I unsuppress the angle then edit it to adjust the simulation to a new angle I then resupress the angle to free it up and run the simulation again.
This can go on a few times until the angle is found in the simulation. The problem I have is it takes ages to do this. Basically it seems in simulation the tree is always collapsed and I want it expanded, how ever after each change the tree collapses?
Is there a way to have the tree always expanded so I can quickly find and adjust my constraint? Or even better is there a way to pull the constraint into the main edit window for direct editing?
It would be good if a small bow / window could be opened with the ability to add a setting/constraignt that needs constant updating.
How can I see my D7100 NEF files in CS5 or Lightroom 3?

View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter much work, and after I convert my Nikon D7100 NEF files to DNG, Camera Raw starts when I open the DNG file. What is very strange it that it indicates I am using Camera Raw 7.1 with a Nikon D7100 file.
(Strangely enough, I have not found a way to launch Camera Raw directly.)
===========
Anyway, I have only 2 tools in camera raw: Basic and detail.
I absolutely need the chromatic aberration tool. And a few others would be great.
Where do I get this ? How do I install it ?
I have a D7100 and PSE10 -- I learned (after the fact...) that PSE 10 can not open D7100 RAW files. I have tried using the DNG converter but do not want to have to do this. I also purchased Lightroom 5 in ordert to solve the problem, but again (after the fact...) learned that LR5 doesn't work with VISTA, which is that my desktop has. I know mostly my fault for not researching enough.... but I really just want to open the D7100 RAW files directly in ACR. Will PSE 11 support D7100 RAW files without having to convert to DNG first?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded from a Nikon 7000 to a Nikon D7100 DSLR camera. Historically I was able to open and process NEF files in Photoshop Elements 9 from my D7000. What do I have to do to be able to open these NEF files as I did before with those files from my D7000?

I would prefer not to open each photo again, as some files i do not have and were imported into the document with another computer.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to add points into a surface. I have done this before without any problems, but now I am having issues.
When I ID points which makes up the surface it gives me the correct Z level e.g. 24.5m, however when I hover over the surface it shows me the surface name and a different z level e.g. 0.65m. What is the reason for this difference in z levels? I think this may be causing the issue I am having when I add new points.
I select the surface and use the 'edit surface command' in the ribbon, choosing add point.
When I add a point at the level I require(23.89m), it puts it in a lot higher than the surrounding area, so I tried to put the point in to the lower z levels (0.4m) it puts it in a lot lower!
I am clicking on a layer in GIMP, and when I click on the text tool, this dialog pops up "CONFIRM TEXT EDITING" "the layer you selected is a text layer but it has been modified using other tools. Editing the layer with the text tool will discard these modifications. You can edit the layer or create a new text layer from its text attributes."
with 3 options, Create New layer, Cancel, and Edit however, no matter what I click, it doesn't let me create new text anywhere.ALSO, it seems to jump from the layer i selected to another layer whenever I click "EDIT."
What is weird is that I was able to create new text prior to this, but not anymore. it's gimp 2.8.0

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a laptop Windows Vista which will not allow me to upgrade Lightroom 3.2 to 5.3. I have bought a Nikon D7100. Is it possible to enable the older version of LIghtroom 3.2 to recognise the Nikon D7100 for tethered shooting?
View 2 Replies View RelatedIs D7100 supported for tethered shooting? I can't get mine to work. It's quite essential tool for studio photography.Everything is working fine with my D7000, but as soon as i change to D7100 'No Camera Detected' is all I get.
All necessary services are running and troubleshooting is done by Adobe instructions found for LR 4.3. Yes, the raw's import fine from D7100 via 'Import Photos and Video...' dialog. Lightroom version is 4.4. Computer running on Win 7 64bit.
So is the D7100 support only support for it's NEF's and not for tethered shooting?
I have been unhappy with the colors from raws on my new D7100. It's bad enough it has banding and color cast issues within dark shadows but today I decided to do a test against my D90 and ViewNX and the results conclude what I have been seeing. There is too much yellow and a lack of magenta in the converted raws with LR. Here is an example. I'm considering sending it back until this is resolved. Copy and paste the link into your browse I can't seem to be able to paste a working copy of it into this post. I remember when I first got my D80 how bad the color profile was, I had to shoot Jpegs for highend kitchens because I couldn't get the wood tones to look correct. Eventually the profile got updated.
