Using CS5. I am unable to open two files supplied by our client. These two files pre-date CS6, and were made by a branch of our client in Germany. We are in North America. There are many layers of bureaucracy between us and the actual creators in Germany, so communication is impossible.

An attempt at opening the files results in the error, "Could not complete your request because the specified color book cannot be found".However, in this case it is NOT POSSIBLE to "work with the file creator", and it is NOT POSSIBLE to use a different version of PS with the correct books.

I have Color Manager, and I have cluttered up my CS5 installation with every likely-looking color book from Manager in the hopes that one of them would be the right one, but to no avail.So. I have recently stumbled upon a problem I cannot correct. I am using Corel 11 and although I have the default CMYK palette selected, all the colors ( for CorelDraw and PhotoPaint) are in 255 percentages as opposed to the 100% CMYK model. I must have inadverdently selected this color mode but cannot figure out how to revert back to the 100% model. This makes it impossible to determine the exact color you want based on CMYK percentages. I know this is a RGB model but all colors are displayed in CMYK ex. C- 233 M- 122 Y- 114 K- 155.

In other words, after using the Color Picker Tool to select a color from the image, I want to take the selected color (and everything in the image that is equal to or similar in color), and change them all to a different color.
I tried using the Path's Tool to create an outline in the image, and changing colors that way, but it changes all the other colors in the selection I don't want to change. I just want to change all colors in the image/selection that are equal to or similar to the selected color. How do I do this?

Is there an eyedropper kind of tool in Encore that would let me sample the color from the image, and then apply that to color swatches in the Encore button layers?

I am doing a thermography project for a wedding in which the printer will only do two-color processing. the text will be black and a cherry blossom jpeg is illustrated in watercolor-y pinks. all will be raised printing. how do i transform the watercolor-y pinks to one pantone pink without losing the brush stroke quality of the image? do i select & replace color pixels varying the translucency of one pink pantone color? is there an easier way? i am using photoshop cs on a mac.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI want to color a photo of a brown leather shoe by switching on a color layer under it. I need this because a website script works with 2 separate images/layers. The top layer must be a transparent png of the image (the brown shoe) and the layer under this is a solid color (or more colors). This way you can color a shoe by clicking a button on the webpage.
I tried it using a white shoe on a layer, setting the opacity to 80%, than I used 'Select Color Range' to select the leather of the shoe, than I deleted this selection. This way the shoe keeps the leather look but is kind of transparent. A colored layer under it 'paints' the shoe while you still see the leather texture on it.
I created an image in PS and then went to Dreamweaver to code. I wanted a certain cell to be the same color as the image I created in PS so I set the cell to the same hex value as the one in PS.
When viewed in a browser though, the color is different.
Why?
What do I need to do to make them view the same on the web by using the hex value?
I am trying to take a handprint such as the one below and change the color of the handprint to say a light pink (or any color) but I want to keep most of the detail of the fine lines that make this handprint unique. The lines could even just come out as white as below. The main thing is to change the overall color while maintaining the fine details. I have been trying to accomplish this for over a week now in Photoshop Elements 11 and I have been unsuccessful as anything I do just totally color fills the image, which does not keep any details of the handprint.Â

Ive been working on picture in Photoshop. The first step was an adjustment of brightness/contrast. I can see the several steps I've made in Photoshop's 'history' window, but, although I can do or undo the various levels, I can't determine the values I used at each stage, as there appears to be no info on those values in the history window.

I've been making notes of the subsequent transformations/adjustments, but I didn't remember to do that on the first step. Can I retrieve this info somehow, via history, or some other way?

for example:
10.000 x 7000 px at 300dpi needs for one image layer at 16bit: 2GB RAM in photoshop cs6 or cc (just as a number), this may be wrong so lets take 2GB RAM and multiply with 10 image layers in my .psb file (16bit) = 20 GB RAM, and multiply with 20 adjustment layers (guess they need less ram, for one lets say 500MB) = 20GB + 10GB = this 16bit .psb layer file would need 30GB RAM, so when i have 32GB in my imac, i set cs6 or cc to 70% ram usage, it misses at least round 8-10GB RAM > can i guess that photoshop would swap these 8GB onto my scratch disc? or do i miss something important in my thinking?
I cannot find anywhere in Photoshop Elements where it tells the total of photographs I have in my collection. The old version told this number in the lower right hand corner. Is there somewhere in this newer version where I can find how many photos I have without having to count them?Â

All my scanned 35mm images & digitals from my DSLR are cropped to my prefeered 3000x2000 with a res of 300 I can find it in the 'quick' section, but not in the 'expert' In the 'expert' section I found the clone tool I use a lot in E6, but its not in the 'quick' section To make this all happen I often need to correct the horizontal in my old 35mm images; i cannot find this either.
