View 2 Replies View RelatedI want to create some sharp text in my image, but can't figure out how to do it despite lots of searching.
Here is what it currently looks like:
Those letters look terrible and I'd like it to be straight, sharp lines.
I noticed if I use "Convert To Shape" it outlines the letters exactly the way I want them to look:
But, when I select the shape, it just selects the nasty pixels behind it, not this border.
how I can create text on an angle.
For example.
Instead of horizontal or vertical text, how can it be done on say a 45 degree angle?
I'm using Photoshop CS (8.0)
anyone got any tips on creating text custom letters or text?

View 13 Replies View RelatedI was experimenting with applying filters to text. I managed to make the background black and the text converted to a white outline. I believe I did it using artistic/watercolor. I made a series of five images using this process and now I can't recreate the effect. I definitely did not use strokes or any of the other common ways of creating outline text: It was really quite accidental and done entirely with filters.
View 12 Replies View Relatedt is possible to create numbered/bulleted text in photoshop, with indentation as it is done in MS Word.
Just something like the text that appears to the left of the image of that house. The image displayed shows the various components of a water distribution system for a single home which collects rain water and deposits it in a storage tank. The only text that I have written in photoshop is the title and the web address.
This is for some course notes but I wanted to replace the original scanned text (which is in dark blue) for some photoshop text in black colour. But I want the text with the same indent format. Can this be done in Photoshop?
When creating text, can not seem to get any color but black. Grab text with text tool, chose a new foreground color, foreground color will change, text color in options bar will change, but text stays black.
If trying to gradiate the text. Again, I choose a color, pick the gradient tool, set the type of gradient, all looks good, new color with white background, but still it comes out as new color and black. Have try making the foreground white with new background color, but still only get black.
I am creating a logo and I need to create text on a circle, but the hard part for me is she wants the first half on top, the 2nd part of the text on the bottom.
obviously i know how to use the circle path tool, but how is a good way to do this for the bottom? I know i can use the pen tool but i have never used it before and it looks complicated.
I need step by step gradient text instructions for Photoshop WITH TWO CUSTOM COLORS GOING FROM TOP TO BOTTOM.
How do I (instead of using the preset color choices) make a custom gradient? I am trying to create text with a top to bottom gradient of green (#228B22) down to aqua (#40E0D0).
I have been working on some small banners and heading bars for my site. One thing I always seem to have a problem with and have not seen much information on is what fonts to use, or how to keep a font clean and crisp once it has been converted from psd to a web usable file such as a .jpg or a .gif. Most of the text I am working with is around a 10pt font. I have tried using different types of fonts and they all look fine as the psd but seem to lose something in the transition.
I have optimized them to 100% and they still seem to lose something. Does anyone know of any techniques or tutorials on this subject. I have seen many banners out there with this size font or smaller, and they all look very sharp.
I use photoshop 3.0 and am familiar with basic functions, but now i need to create a vector image - this is for uploading to a t shirt design web site. The writing needs to be in Russian, which i have successfully cut and pasted into photoshop.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI want to write the words HAPPY and BIRTHDAY underneath each other so that the word HAPPY takes up the the same width as the word BIRTHDAY. I also want to make the HAPPY twice as tall as the word BIRTHDAY.
Do I need to adjust the spacing and/or width for each individual letter? I'm guessing I can make the HAPPY taller by some kind of stretching tool?
I have been trying to figure out how to create text within another object that blends in with the background (behind that object).
If you notice the "two plus three equals" portion on the top left of the 5 blends in with the color of the shirt (so if the shirt was red or blue, the "two plus three equals" would show up as red or blue instead of yellow). How do you do this in photoshop? I've been trying to find a tutorial on this for a while, but to no avail.
I am a relative newcomer to Photoshop CS5. I have been creating a document with a background image layer and a couple of text box layers. The font is set at Arial, italic, sharp. When I save the document as a PDF file, random words appear in bold. I have tried deleting these words in the PSD document text layer and retyping them but they still appear as bold in the PDF file. Interestingly when I save as a JPEG image the bold words appear as normal. CS5 version is 12.0.4 and OS is Windows XP.

Is there a way to create a character style FROM existing characteristics of existing text?

I have created a background for a flyer I am making, but would like to add text that takes on the design of the background. So imagine that the background is a piece of cloth, if you placed you hand under the cloth the cloth would take on the impression of the hand. So the text would be poppin' out at the viewer from what would look like underneath the background. Something similar to this. I have seen it on other flyers and was just wondering how it is done.
View 9 Replies View RelatedUsing photoshop CS6 on Mac, I am seeing a problem with one of my batch processing sript who's only task is to apply an embossed water mark to images which I have resized such that the longest side is always 500px. (short side varies depending on how I have cropped).
In most cases, the piece of text I am adding to the image appears fine. But then for no apparent reason, it will suddenly apply the text (which I have set to 24pt) and it is way to big. To address the issue, I have to reduce the font size (via the actions pallate) down as far as 8 pt. Then it starts to appear more or less correctly (for a while) until maybe a few weeks later when I open up photoshop to run the job again and suddenly 8 pt font is WAY too small and I have to bump it up to 24 pt again.
How do I set fire to text or an image with a transpenent background?
I am building a web site for a client that wants to use colorful backgound.
The client wants fire on all of his mouse over images and text.
I know how to create the fire to the image, but I get white around the image or text.
It looks bad on the color background.
I've been a faithful photoshop user for quite some time now, but today I got wickedly impressed by this tiny software that features this awesome specular highlighting technique that photoshop does not do by default. This software is called "Art Text 2"H! I had prepared some image links but cause I'm so new I can't put them.[URL]...
As you can see, the bevel reflection is created using the specular information of the "sphere map". Furthermore the program allows you to change the sphere map highlights interactively, and even choose your own image sphere maps. This is just amazing, isn't it? Creating realistic metal text or things is just super easy with this. I think everyone of us has had problems doing realistic metal effects on photoshop, am I wrong?
In Photoshop you have the "bevel and emboss" style feature, and it works pretty well, but it isn't made for say: reflecting a window on the beveled text.Sphere maps are commonly used in gaming to simulate realistic reflection of 3d objects, and I can think of a million ways of using this technique on 2d. way of simulating this sphere map reflection on layers on Photoshop?
Trying to follow tutorials to create text. They all say to choose type (vector, floating, or selection) from the box on the text toolbar. I have been over it with a microscope and can't find it. I have expanded all arrow flyouts - nothing.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI add text to an image using the text tool, after which the "active selection" (is that the right name?) is a rectangle around the text so that any edit I make will only be applied to this text.
That's fine, but what I can't seem to do is to get the "active selection" back to the whole image. If I use the rectangle selection tool, the selection appears but the selection around the text is still there and moreover, any edit I make will still only be made to the small box around the text.
I end up saving the image, closing, and reopening to continue working.
