I have been using photoshop for years. recently everytime i click create new file or open existing one, when i do, nothing opens. I can see the layers but i cannot see the workspace. Its like its invisible. How do i fix this? I am woking on a mac book pro and bought cs5.1 last spring.

I guess it was a droplet, "when the file is opened or created then add file info from a xmp file". I still have the xmp file with all the data in but i am unsure how to implement it being automatically opened and added to the file when i create a new one? I thought i could handle it, i assume its a droplet of some sort.

Similar to how an include file would work on a webpage, ie: create the menu as an include file, then all pages that reference that include file would have their menus changed when that single include file gets modified.

Or another way of looking at it: like how headers/footers work in word, ie: change the header or footer and all pages in that document are automatically modified.

I would like to create a halftone image using a custom shape in the "Halftone Screen" dialog box. i.e. using a custom shape I created instead of the standard "round" "diamond" etc. Basically what I want to know is - if it is possible - how does one create a custom .AHS file containing a custom shape you created so as to create a halftone image.

I tried the solution given in another message to change the doc to BITMAP mode and greyscale. When I open the file to work on it, CS2 says its CMYK / 8 bit. Is the file truly 1 bit depth? Our scanning software won't allow the creation of templates on any other color depth.

I used to be able to create animated gif's easily from unsaved files. I would simply select all the layers I wanted to use and process them.

After upgrading to CS6, I'm totally lost. I've followed half a dozen tutorials, but nothing works. The only way I can even load a frame into the Windows Timeline feature is to first save several images from my unsaved file, then reload them by choosing File > Scripts > Load Files into Stacks. But even then I can't find a Make Frames from Layers option when I click the down arrow on the right side of the palette.

Is there a simple way to create animated gif's from layers in an unsaved file on CS6, or do I need to reinstall my older Photoshop version in order to created animations?
i have been trying to create mac desktop icons using the "Photoshop PICT Resource File" and it works all right, but i lose any transparency one the image is saved.
I have tried using various icon programs (IconBuilder, etc) but they never seem to work for me.
Since i am on a Mac, standerd icon programs just dont cut it, because im looking to create high-quality icons like those found on Pixel Girl (a great resource for both Mac + Windows Icons).
I am far from a beginner, but i can't seem to find any tutuorials that apply to this topic.
I have PS v7.0 for PC.
I want to create an “Action” that changes the File type from .psd to .jpg, and then use the “Batch” command to change a whole folder on files.
Here’s what happens so far: I open a file. Then using the “action” pallet, I record the following:
Save as…
I change the “Save In” folder to a different folder.
I change the “Format” from Photoshop (PSD) to JPEG (JPG).
Under JPEG Options, I use the default file size and hit OK.
I them hit the Stop button.
Seems simple enough. And it works for the first file.
But if I use this “action” on a second file, it writes over the original file.
So, how do I create an “action” that allows me to automate the “save as” function and change file types.
This must be a common operation. I have 300+ .psd files that I need to change to .jpg.
When creating slideshows in Adobe Photoshop Elements 9.0 I do not get any audio/music in the .pdf file.

I can get audio in preview and if I create a .wmv file but not in the .pdf file.
I have tried to add the document as a trusted document in the preferences.
I have tried with Adobe reader 7.0, 9 and X. Nothing works.
Note: My music is longer than the slideshow since I would like music during the whole slideshow. It is one music file. I run on a PC, Windows XP, service pack 3.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm using Corel Videostudio Pro X5 and have been filmimg in ACVHD.MTS format this year for the first time on motorsport events, I've edited all my 2013 footage and all is looking great.and now i want to save the footage into a file on my PC to upload into Sony DVD Architect to make a quality DVD production.
I have done this routine with my SD footage for several years and had no issues at all and created some great DVDs but now i'm using HD footage i'm getting lost with all the video formats that are available.
Basically which is the best format to save my video file onto my PC before i upload it into Sony DVD Architect? I tried the first option HDV which looked great and a reasonable file size but then it started to flicker and freeze during play back on my PC.
Also, even though i've been filming in HD i still only want to make a standard DVD because i share my work with friends who do not have Bluray players, will this be an issue since i have filmed in HD all year? All i after after really is the best quality footage i can produce for my DVD.
I am trying to create a centralized .arg file, so that if I make a change to this default profile all the machines will immediately see the change.
Currently I can only get this to work by importing the new profile, and i can't really ask 40 or so draughtsmen to re import when a change has been made.
AutoCad see's the file but does not update any changes.
I am looking to attach custom attributes to autocad features (lines, polylines, polygons, points) so that when we insert the dwg into ArcGIS the attributes are linked to the feature in both autodesk and gis. I am thinking a dwg seed file will perform this task .

Click Application menu> Print> Manage Plotters.In the Autodesk Plotter Manager, double-click the Add-a-Plotter Wizard shortcut icon. When I click on "Manage Plotters", windows explorer opens the folder where our pc3 files are located. I don't see Add-a-Plotter Wizard shortcut icon?
I've never created a pc3 file from scratch. I've modified existing pc3 files and done a save as before, but I need to create one from scratch in 2013. Some of the old ones won't work as others have explained here [URL].......and it was suggested to make a new one. Also, when I edit a pc3 file in 2013, I no longer get the option to either "Apply changes for the current plot only" or "Save changes to the following file".

There got to be a way to make it stop doing this -- I've used lightroom for years withouth this happening. I don't know what got changed
I've been editing with no problems for a while now but every time I try to share/create a video file it fails every time at 95%. I'm assuming it must be something specific for it to fail every time at the same point and i've tried it in multiple formats but always with the same result

So, I have created many bluray video files which I store in my hard drive using the Corel pro "create a videofile feature" and they have worked pretty good, but I have found that burning the same bluray video onto a disc using Corel DVD factory has a superior picture quality, specially when you look at strong colors like red, they don't smear and have a rock solid look to it, I have also found that when the camera pans this problem shows its ugly face even more when creating a video file to the hard drive, but not in the burning disc process. I always choose two pass encode and the highest quality setting when burning a bluray disc.
Question, Is there a way to choose "two pass encode" in the Corel pro program or a way to change settings so that I get rid of the problem, or Can I use the Corel dvd factory in a way that I don't have to burn a disc, but just create a video file?
I created a 4 minute video project in VS Pro X3. Source of video clips were from a Sony HDR-CX550V camcorder. I added some titles to a few video clips and 3 titles on a "Graphic - Color" background. When creating a video file (under SHARE) and choosing Blu-ray ----> NTSC MPEG2 (1920 x 1080), I found the following: Video clips are sharp, no problem, but the titles have black lines at irregular intervals, to the point that the letters cannot be read. What may be the cause and how can I eliminate this problem.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have an AutoCAD drawing (I did not create it) of a proposed trail in my city, and I've been tasked with making some kind of model or render of a section of it. I'm at a loss for how to even start, unfortunately. In the end I would like to have an accurate 3D model of a boardwalk section of the trail with surrounding terrain. I have Sketchup, Google Earth, and Revit at my disposal.
My first problem is topography. When I import the CAD drawing to Revit it seems there is some topographical data, which will be needed to realistically build the boardwalk on top of. I was able to get the terrain of the area into Sketchup from Google Earth, but then I don't know exactly where to build the model.
I've attached an image of a floor I created in the outline of the boardwalk. The area in question begins at the two handicap parking stalls (represented as the two blue towers for some hilarious reason) and ends at the second square (a viewing platform). My preferred method would be get an accurate topograhic site in Revit, build the boardwalk, and then place surrounding vegetation so I can get some renders.
EDIT: I've attached "Screenshot 2" which shows I found I was able to create terrain in Revit by selecting a layer of the CAD file. However that layer is suspended above, and my placeholder floor is underneath. Now I just need to get the floor (representing the boardwalk) to go along the terrain.
I'm trying to create a profile from a txt file but I keep on getting this error message ''chainage XX+XXX.XX either outside of alignment limits or within gap created by a chainage equation'' . The txt file has chainage and elevation and the formatting is OK, so I don't get what the problem is.

I have all of the data in a text file (that is set up correctly) with the northings, eastings and elevations. I can get that to import the points and it is correct but I cannot get the contour lines to draw. I need the intervals to be .25ft with a major line every 4. there is about 1600 different data points.Â
Steps to create them from a text file? To get the points in the file i used "_MAPIMPORT"Â
also, the data is in an L shape so how to create a boundary condition to only contour that L shape and not try to connect points on opposite ends of the area?

I have create surface from contours, then extract faces, extrude them, union and I got solid..
I have export solid like stl file... But in another program my surface is not smooth, like somethning went wrong while exporting stl, because in autocad civil 3D 2012 everything looks good.
I have found out how I can increase facetres to 10, but It has not affect to my stl file. If there is some another parameter for better resolution of stl files?
In Inventor 2012 I want to create my own .dds file so I can use it as a reflection option in the application options. I've tried it several times by converting a picture into a .dds file using Paint.Net but it won't recognize the file when I put it into the Textures folder. Is there a way I can do this? Also, is there a specific size it needs to be?
