Photoshop :: Creating Actions In CS6
Jul 11, 2012I am running Windows 7. I created an Action in Photoshop CS6 that includes placing a rectangle and a logo on the bottom right hand corner of my images and then centered in the middle of the rectangle is text of the event (Event name, Location, Date). After creating everything, I flatten the image, resize it down to a size reasonable for the web, then I save the image to a folder, close the document and click on the STOP button in the Actions panel.

Afterwards, I go into File>Automate>Batch and choose the Action that I just created. In running the action, I notice that the text that I placed into the rectangle on my document is now scaling down to a considerably much smaller size than what I had it set to.

Jan 12, 2013How to make GIF images already. The problem I'm having is that I can't seem to figure out how to edit all the frames at once. I would like to brighten them up and add curves, maybe sharpen.

I tried selecting all the layers, but then all the image editing options greyed out and weren't available. I really don't want to individually edit 58 frames, Is there a way to edit all at once? I'm using Photoshop CS3.

CTRL + A
EDIT > TRANSFORM > FLIP HORIZONTAL
CTRL + D
And save it as an Action called am_Flip_Horizontal.atn. Then how would I go about loading that action automatically each time PS boots and assigning a keyboard shortcut to it (say, CTRL + /) ?
I notice that some Actions are black, some are red. Some have a checkmarks and others have toggle icons. I think I have the concept down, but just not the how-to knowledge.

Jul 7, 2007I've made actions in Photoshop before but never really anything other than recording my mouse movements & keystrokes.
Many of the actions i download have many more bells & whistles in them.
I'm really looking to have a msgbox pop up saying ...
eg NOW SET HUE/SAT TO REQUIRED SETTINGS
& have the hue & sat setting pop up so they could enter a setting
then the action would continue.
Could anyone offer any links or book reccomendations to help me built more complicated actions please?

Dec 28, 2011Using X4 on Windows 7. I'm trying to create a series of custom edges to supplement those already supplied in X4. I've created the edge ok and exported it as a frame and it works ok. The problem is selecting it in the dropdown menu under Image/picture frames. Whereas the thumbnails of the supplied edges have grey shading to represent the transparent section of the edge, mine don't, they are just plain white and that makes it difficult to know what edge to select. What have I done wrong? I've opened a couple of the supplied edges and they look similar to mine ie no shading.

Apr 11, 2013I created an AI action that will perform the following actions on an AI file. Save currently opened AI file.Export current AI file as JPG.Export current AI file as GIF.Export current AI file as PNG. After using this action, I realized there are some thing that need to be changed in order for it to be truly useful. First, I would like the JPG,GIF,and PNG to save to the same directory that the currently opened AI file is in. For example, if I open an AI file that is located at C:/images/image1.ai and run my image export action, the JPG,GIF, and PNG should save to that same directory (C:/images/). In a nutshell, I want to make this path dynamic but when I create the action it forces me to specifiy a specific location.

This becomes a problem when I try to send this Action Set to other memebers on my team. If they load the action set into Illustrator, it doesn't work properly because the save location is hard coded in the action.
Photoshop :: Actions Stopped Working After Downloading More Actions
Aug 31, 2004I downloaded a couple of actions from the web to my actions palette and they worked fine, but then I got greedy and downloaded a few more and that’s when things went south. Now none of the actions work - by not working I mean when I mouse over the Play Selection icon at the bottom of the action palette I get that little circle with a line through it. This happens with the PS default actions as well (I also get the circle on the Stop Playing/Recording and Begin Recording icons).
Somewhere in the following is probably what messed things up.
I downloaded actions to my computer in zip files. Copied them over to the actions folder (or somewhere) and unzipped them. I went back to the actions palette and hit “load actions” and loaded them. On the second set of actions that I downloaded I remember thinking “why am I copying and pasting these files - I bet I should cut and paste them, so I did and that may have been the start of the great crumble of 2004. PhotoShop help says: (under Saving and loading actions) “Actions are automatically saved the the Actions Palette folder in PS7.0 Settings folder. If this file is lost or removed, the actions you created are lost”.
I have searched for the settings folder and couldn’t find it, but the actions still show up on the actions palette - they just don’t run.
I’m a little fuzzy on the details on the above steps. In fact, I probably did something different on each download.
one more thing, I reloaded PhotoShop, but still nothing.

Nov 24, 2013My computer crashed and I removed all apps and reinstalled so now none of my actions appear. However I do have a backup file of all of them and want to reinstall but before when I was using cs6 ( Im assuming same thing as CC as it was all on the subscription plan ) I would click actions then the right arrows and it would bring me a big screen of all the actions ( even the ones that were just preloaded in ps ) and it was a big box with all the actions and some options to record etc...Now that box isn't there and it's just a single column drop down menu.

Now, in past, when I saved actions CS2 would "remember" where this folder was, making real easy to save.

Jan 25, 2009I want to double matte a photo on a page with a background. The inner matte will be a 10 pixel black and I want the outer to be a half-inch patterned matte. I have scanned in the pattern from a piece of scrapbooking paper. How do I do the two mattes? I want the the mattes and picture to be moveable and sizeable.

Could not complete the Video Frames to Layers command because Photoshop does not support video on this version of Mac OS. I'm not sure what to do because my Mac OS is up to date, and when I had a trial for CS 6, I was able to do frames to layers.

How do I make a border with a transparent middle section. So I can use that border for a flash project (picture album etc). I know how to make a border over a picture, I just need to know how to make a border that I can use over any image of my choosing.

How do I make a text only image that is transparent. Lets say I make the word "Home" with a Bevel, how do I keep the word only without the white background? I keep getting the full canvas size (e.g 100X100) with the word Home in the middle (including all the effects I add to the word) on a white background, even when I have set my options to transparent background.

Aug 2, 2004I have photoshop 7 and elements 2 and in 7 i can't access my frames to frame my photo's. In elements it has effects that show the frames that i can use, but in 7 it doesn't have that. I can't load the new set of frames into elements because in the preset manager it has not custom shapes option. In 7 it has the custom shapes option so I have my new frames added there but i can't access them.

Sep 3, 2012I'm using the trial of Photoshop CS6. When I try to import frames to layers, the popup-window shows just as it should, but the preview is just a blank box. It's like there is no video there. Once I tried to continue even without it, but all I got was layers filled with the color black as frames.
