I'm trying to create a fade in animated gif based on a youtube tutorial. The tutorial has a background then creates a new image layer. The image layer is duplicated and the opacity is increased from lower to higher values.
A copy of the background is created and placed under each newly created layer.
The video then merges the layers down into the copied backgrounds. This is where my gimp version does not work. My new images will not merge down into the copied backgrounds. Is there a setting that I am missing on my layers?
I've used Paint.net for quite some time, using it mainly for two-tone graphic art or pixel art. Quite a while ago, I created this cool effect that I'll demonstrate with images, however, I have literally completely forgotten how exactly I did it.
Anyway, here's the walk through process of the effect, it's a fade in, making it seem like there are clouds at the bottom of the silhouette that cover the black of the lower layer while doing so in a way that is like a gradient, but of course, not so linear and straight - Â Here's the first image, ignore the shaft of light:Â Â The 2nd image shows the silhouette, the shadow of a colossus, if you will. What I want to do is add something that blends the black to the background, so you can't see his feet:Â Â The 3rd image here shows the first layer of fade (and the first layer only), this layer doesn't directly cover up the lower part of the silhouette but it does add some sort of cover for the lower parts of the main silhouette to create a more subtle blend as opposed to straight black over dark green:Â Â This is the 4th image detailing the 2nd fade-layer, still separate from the 1st fade layer just to show them separately:Â Â And finally, the fifth image showing both fade-layers, the silhouette and the background color:Â Â Ok, so that's that. Basically, how did I do that? What did I actually do? I've been playing around with the image for quite a long time, and the whole reason I'm doing this is because I'm recreating the image in a much higher resolution but I want it to be perfect, of course, and want to recreate and remember this effect. Â I think, but am not sure, that it may have had something to do with the "Clouds" option, found under "Render". Maybe the Gradient option and blurs.
Trying to edit an 8 to 10 second fade from black to a clip.
The closest I can get is this: Black color, Crossfade Transition, Video Clip This would work, but transitions are limited to 3 seconds.
Also, is there a way to freeze a video for a defined amount of time? I know inserting a capture of the last frame as a still image would work, but seems like a bit of extra work.
I am working on a header for a site. The left side image faded in nicely by layering it over black, lowering the opacity and blurring the right edge. I also sat the black layer a bit further in and blurred it to get a smooth edge. However, I cannot get the same look on the right side image. After about 2 hours trying, I am at wit's end. But I am still a newbie to PS and I have no doubt there is a better way to do this.
i've been hearing (reading) an awful lot about this edit>fade thing, and i've even done it a few times using tuts, but I still don't understand its function.
what can i do with that image so it fades into the red background without looking stupid? and what would you recommend i do to make it look better overall?
I want to fade a background texture so that it isn't so bold. In Flash I would do this with the alpha controls, but I Googled alpha for photoshop and it wasn't what I was looking for. I've tried playing with the partially transparent gradient, using mulitple layers, but I'm not getting the desire results.
I should like the attached image to fade seamlessly into a black background. The image is actually to be put onto a DVD disc label which means (I guess) that the resultant image shape should be either circular or oval.
I have a photo of wood flooring that I need help with. I tried to do it on my own but I haven't been successful so now I come to you guys asking for help. What I need the photo to do is fade from left to right so that the left side is natural and it gradually fades to white as it goes to the right? Code:
how to fade out edges. I have a jpeg with solid edges, that I want to fade the bottom out into a dark background. I've trawled through all the menus trying to figure this out and I'm sure it's really easy but I can't find it.
I have a web page with a green background. I have a picture that I want to fade into the green so that it is barely visible but you can still make out the object in the picture.
I have pretty much achieved this by choosing an inner glow effect and using the same green color as my glow color but I wanted to ask if I am doing this right or is there a better way.
Lets say you got a picture set up, we'll say the picture is a sky with clouds. And you want to add pictures/images , we'll say pictures are of people.... and you want to add them on the picture of the sky without overlaping it (which normally turns out deleting out that portion of the picture). How is that possible to add it but somehow meshing it in...
I have a script that I am using but cannot figure out how to make the bottom reflection fade to transparancy. The image on the left is what comes out from the script & the image on the right shows how I want the reflection to fade into transparancy. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! P.S. I'm a Photoshop n00b so please try to be simple in the instructions. EDIT: I forgot to mention that the image needs to remain at it's original 60px × 224px, the fade to transparency cannot change the image size.
I have several photos I am going to use in a flash header. I want to give the entire border of the picture a transparent look. I want to be able to duplicate the same on each picture. How do I do this?
I'm trying to fade text from top to bottom using a path I have always followed, but isn't working now: Â 1. Select the layer the text is on 2. Create Fill or Adjustment Layer > select Gradient from the drop-down menu 3. Click on the Gradient bar to bring up the options 4. Adjust opacity, direction, colour > OK Â When I create the Fill or Adjustment layer and select Gradient, the gradient is applied to the whole document rather than just the text on the layer I've selected. Â My text is white against a blue background..I have tried selecting the gradient "Foreground to Transparent", but can't get past the stage where that is applied to the whole document.
Using CS6 on Windows 7. I've got a product photo of a product with square corners and the shot is taken on a angle so that a corner is pointed out towards you with 2 sides going away from you. I've created a copy of the layer, flipped it vertically and lowered the opacity to create a reflection. I then added a layer mask to the reflection layer and then a gradient to fade out the relection to solid white on 1 side of the product. But I need to apply a gradient to the other side of the product to fade out its reflection, but when I do this, it removes the first gradient. How can I fade out both sides of my reflection?
