I need to pass on an action script to a client but I don't know where it's saved! I've found D:Program FilesAdobePhotoshop 6.0PresetsPhotoshop Actions on my hard drive, but the script I created isn't in there. I know the darn thing has been saved because I've used it several times over the last 3 months, I just can seem to locate it.
View 2 RepliesIn CS4 I was able to create an action that resized images and then saved them for web. I would use this action over and over and would always be able to change where the images saved to in the batch setup panel. In order to get the save for web as part of the action I had to define a folder for saving. But choosing a different folder in CS4 would save them to the location I chose.

 In CS6 I have not been able to modify where the images save, the original saved export always save to the same folder. I have tried this with the override option clicked and unclicked with the same result. I am working on a PC in windows 7.

I have reverted to the scripts image processor but the images I am modifying are tif files with meta-data that I need to remove because when these images are uploaded with my wordpress loaded they all load with the same name based on the meata data, the photographer has all metadata as the same info. Having to manually clean these all out is making me crazy and I'd like to go back to using my actions.
I removed color info and reset to greyscale, yet I still get a pink hue when I save as a pdf.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to customise my drawing templates to keep them up to date and also include accountability.I seem to be having trouble in including the name of the person who has last saved the model, and the date the model was last saved.
Manually including this information isn't ideal as people will forget, and it makes it harder to trace revisions.I can't see anywhere on the iProperties where the 'Last saved by' feature is available, but I thought maybe the information could be pulled from the username from the application options?
The last saved date should be easy, as there is a modified date in the model's iproperties; however, I cannot pull this information.I have used other cad packages in the past and this was never an issue. With all the customisation of Inventor, I thought this would be relatively straight  forward.
I have a capstone lab project due tomorrow for my graphic arts class and I made a HUGE mistake!!! I created an image using 20 something layers and did SAVE AS as a .xcf image (with all layers open). Part of the project was to save in different formats: .xcf (with open layers), a .png, and a .jpeg (optimized). So, I did the first save and then flattened the image to SAVE AS a .png with a different file name.
Long story short, I was tired and had way too many images open at once. When I was closing all of the images I accidentally saved the changes (flatten image) to my original .xcf (with open layers)!!!! Now, my .xcf that is supposed to have open layers only has one layer...the finished project!! I tried going to the file properties to restore a previous version, but it says that no previous versions were found! I also downloaded a norton "unerase" utility, but maybe I am not scanning properly to locate the file!?!
When a raw file badge shows that the file has been changed, I use Metadata Save to File & for the large majority of my images, the badge goes away and Metadata Status Changed does not show the file. For some of my files, however, the Save to File command doesn't work properly. If I am only displaying files with changes, the file briefly disappears, then returns. Even if I go to Windows Explorer and delete the xmp file, then again Save metadata to file, it pops up again with the badge saying it needs to be saved. I'm using Lightroom 4.3 64 bit on Windows 7.

I created a Web Gallery and forgot to update the folder name for the FTP server.
How can I update the saved gallery? If you change module and double click again on the saved gallery icon, the changes are lost.

i am trying to build an action where the end product is a channel listing that has all the channel (R-G-B-L-C-Y-M-K (forget LAB a-b)). this will allow me to look at all the channels for contrast and subsequent extraction. i'm actually able to do this as i RECORD the action. but when i RUN the action, nothing happens.
in recording the action, i create a DUPLICATE IMAGE, then convert the new image to LAB. i then drag the "L" channel to the original image. it goes into the original image as an alpha channel which i rename to "Lightness." i then convert the duplicate image to CMYK and then one-by-one DRAG the individual channels to the original image. at the end of this process, i have all eight channels visible in the channels palette. this is what i want.
but then, when i RUN the action on a new image, the action fails to RECORD the "drag step and drop" step. the "L," "C," etc. channels are not dragged during the running of the action.
why does the "drag" step not record in the action
needs to overlay a grid over a photo and then save it as another file. In CS5.5 or earlier, no problem, but in CS6 it is not working for either of us.Â
The batch action (run from either Photoshop or Bridge) stops and prompts at the Save command every time no matter what format we save it in (psd, png, jpg, save for web, etc.).
I have been through the Web and the Adobe Forums and cannot find a work around for this. He cannot just hit enter everytime the popup window comes up because he has over 2700 photos to put this grid on.
I need to save images for FlashCS5 and the correct way is:-

I have png images in use in flash but movie export is jumpy and avi is a grey mess and I need to check if they were saved as such. How can I do this ?

1-Photocopy of a bible page scanned as Bitmap, and converted to Grayscale in Photoshop.
2-Improvements made using either "levels" adjustment layers OR multiple layers set to either "screen" or "multiply."
3-Saving (flattening) causes the image to revert to the original.
I have CS1 i have saved a JPEG pic to PSD and when i upload it for an assignment the pic isn't aywhere, if i go to My Pictures it is there as a PSD file, even if i have saved the original to JPEG it wont open, i have altered the pic using LAB (converting a pic to balck and white).
View 11 Replies View RelatedI'm running Windows Vista 64. I create a project in Photoshop CS. I save it. The file is stored in this path: C/Program Files x86/Adobe/Photoshop CS. If Photoshop is running and I click on Open, then navigate to this location the file appears and will open. However, if I try to navigate to the file by starting with My Computer and going to the exact same location as specified above the file does not appear. I've tried searching for it via Search, going through my entire computer and got nothing. And worse, sometimes I will Save a file in Photoshop and then go back to it a few days later and it is not there. I think the problem is where Photoshop actually saves the file. My 1st scratch disk is set to Startup. What does this mean? Is this dictating where Photoshop is saving the actual file?

I closed it of course, so I can't retrieve it that way. Is there anyway to dig it out of the photoshop cache?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am taking a graphic image class that uses Photoshop and Illustrator. I am using CS4 Extended (64 bit, I assume, since I'm running XP 64-bit).
When I save a .psd document in CS4 and send it to my teacher, who is using CS3, she can't open it. She gets the error message "This layered photoshop file was not saved with a composite image."
Fortunately my teacher is cool and has been letting me submit my images in other formats, even though the layers can't be seen.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI ran into this issue when saving black and white pictures from Raw file. Camera RAw 7.3 opens normally just like always and lets me save picture in color.It lets me save picture in BW, but the JPEG tha comes out is corrupted file that looks like this (see below):
When i try to open that corrupted JPEG in Photoshop 6 I get an error message saying:"The embedded ICC profile cannot be used because ICC profile is invalid. Ignoring the profile. "

Mac // CS5 // lion...I'm working on a business card in photoshop. I always save as .psd until the finished product, then save a front and a back as a .pdf.

I finished, saved my front and back as a .pdf everything is good. When I save the document as .psd again and close the file, the next time I reopen, it has 0 layers, everything is flattened. I've never had this happen before and am scared to close down the file I am working on for fear that it might not return.

I had this happen once already earlier today on a seperate business card. I knew I saved my final copy as a .psd and when I opened that .psd up again to find that there were no layers, but one flattened image. Is my PS corrupted? Or did I miss a simple check box somewhere?

This is the original document I'm working on. I saved 2 .pdf files from this .psd...For Good measure I save the .psd above as a "test" and then open it up in another window. Notice how the thumbnail has a curved triangle shape. Also the file size is only like 9 mb...very small for my normal size
Ok, so I open it up, and this is what I see. One flattened picture. No layer masks, layers...anything.
I'm updating my resume currently and want my website to be clickable after it has been saved to a PDF so potential employers will just be able to click on it rather than copy and paste. My resume was made in photoshop but can this just be done through Acrobat?

I believe that I understood that metadata for .png format isn't supported, but I thought that .gif was. (Test case is easy: open .gif file, add a Title and Description, save, and re-open - information is gone).
Files saved from photoshop to a server in Mountain lion not visible. But when I save to desktop then move the file to the server, it recognizes that the file is there and I do an overwrite. Also happens with Illustrator files. Is this a MountainLion problem or CS6?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI batch processed a set of edited photos from color to b&w. I intended to save the b&w conversions into a new folder, but must have done something wrong because now the original color photos (which i had just spent 4+ hours editing) are gone and only the b&w files remain.
Is there a way to recover the color photos? i hadn't backed up the harddrive yet, and i still have the original unedited files, but i am hoping there's a way to "undo" the batch process so i don't have to edit all the files again.
Like most virulent PS users, I have my own pet shortcuts. Prior to CS6 I saved them in a "new set" and specified that set as the shortcuts to use with no problem. With CS6 I save the shortcuts, they work, and a day or so later, they are not longer there. I recreate them, they work and in a day or so they disappear.

I wanted to adjust the colors, so I imported it into Photoshop and then re-saved as a hi-res PDF with 300dpi. When I open the PDF in adobe reader, it is very pixelated and I also did a test print at 100% in which certain portions of the text came out blurry.

I would re-type the existing text in Photoshop and then re-save but it's a unique font that I don't have access to.
I've lost some Photoshop cs 8.0 files and have been told by a recovery company that they can't be saved. I've attached a screen shot of icons that appear to show what seems to remain of one of the files. You will see it has 3 different icons that correspond to it. One a 'thumbnail'; one a 'meta' and one an 'exec' file.

Photoshop seemed to save to the folder without problems but when I went to go to open it again, my work was gone and all that was there was the original file. Did PS save my work someplace else and not tell me, or was it not saving at all despite not giving me any permissions errors?
