View 1 RepliesI've been using CS4 on my macbook pro, I have Alien Skin plug ins that I use quite a bit. Recently, after using the Alien Skin actions, CS4 shuts down if I try to use them a second time. So, I open a photo, use the Alien Skin, continue to edit, but if I decide to use Alien Skin again, it shuts down CS4.

see the interface? thats what im trying to do. ignore the stupid clip thing, thats just someone trying to be funny and failing.
got the new Alien Skin plugins to work. When you install Alien Skin, you install to a single directory, both 32 bit and 64 bit plugins. Then in X5, File Locations, I put that directory in the settings but still nothing. maybe X5 doesn't work with them.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI realize that you can't make a silk purse from a sow's ear, but I'm in the position of needing to make some small images larger while working with them to not look completely blurry or pixellated.
Are there techniques for doing this? Does one need to start with an image of at least a certain size to expect any halfway decent results? The starting point images in question are in the neighborhood of 250px - 400px in either dimension and all combos of those.
Is there a plug-in that can enlarge images with better results?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI would like to significantly enlarge some digital images 2800X2100
to print out at A1 or A0. Has any body any suggestions or experience of doing this. I can think of 2 possible solutions
1. Vectorising the images
2. using some software genuine fractals or Photo Zoom
Has any one experience of doing this and how effective were the results.

I have been blowing up images (pictures, drawings, art) recently but am having difficulty in defining the colours and edges in them art for silkscreening. When i blow it up the resolution goes way down and i want to make things as clear as possible. So is there any tips out there for getting that blur out of my life.

View 3 Replies View RelatedIf I want to print on large paper sizes, e.g. A3 or A2, what is common wisdom:
- Set the paper size in LR and let LR blow the photo up;
- Edit a copy in PS and use the PS Size command to blow it up.
I mean if the magnifier routine in LR is the same as in PS one would expect the same result, right?
I occasionally use GIMP to burn-down parts of portraits that compete with the face. For example, bare shoulder, midriff over-light, hands over-lit.
The skin ends up looking greyish, not like less-lit skin. It works not too badly visually, as the emphasis is on the face, but fails on inspection.
I have tried the burn tool and just plain old Brightness, both on a selected area.
I have been unable to get the BOM for an assembly to give me a full bill for my top level assemblies. While the list of top level components is usually what I want, I would like to be able to add another sheet for the top level assemblies that has the full BOM of all piece parts of all the sub assemblies.
If I start a Parts List and set the drop down to all levels and the next to parts only, before selecting the view I would think it would give me what I want but after placing a list with all the different combinations selected, my lists ALL look the SAME. WHere do I look to make this change?
I shoot a lot of images with the background blown out (I shoot RAW of course; on my preview the background is flashing like crazy). I do this deliberately!
But LR4 apparently insists om saving me from myself. It automatically pulls back the blown-out areas so they become visible again. And no simple edit brings them back: I have to move whites to +80 to +100 and exposure up by half a stop as well. This is silly - I blow out my backgrounds very deliberately.
Is there a way to stop this behaviour, to turn off this show-stopper compulsory protection?
This image shows it: in the original the bg is 255-255-255 - full blinkies on the LCD. But in the RAW there is, alas, enough detail left ion the bits to bring it back:
Lines are drawn together. So that the file is busy. I am looking for a command that extra line below the main line is being erased. As the top line is there to stay, and underline and additional lines to be deleted.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've got a hi-res tiff image (5031x3579 px) which I need to use as a background on a very large print (2500 mm x2500 mm, 300 dpi). I placed the original image in InDesign and had to enlarge it by approx 800% to fit the canvas. Effective dpi ended up at 35dpi. This, no suprise, looks **** when viewed at 50-100%, so I thought maybe it would be better to resize the image in photoshop before placing it in InDesign. Well, I did do that and ended up with an image with a huge filesize (2,5 Gb) before saving it as a tiff again. I noticed that many of the save as options didn't come up, only tiff, Large image format and native PS. I still dont know what the final file size will be... still waiting for it to finish processing.
The method I used for enlargement was: Image size -> resample - bicubic smoother (best for enlargement) - in three steps, 200% up - 200% up - 150% up.
What is the best way using photoshop CS6? I know I will loose quality, but want to minimize the apparent loss the best way.
I have a card 7.5 x 5 .5. I would like to scan it and use it as my desktop wallpaper for the season. I have 2 Dell u2711 monitors at a resolution of 2560 x 1440. However, when I scan I get a terrible image when I attempt to set it as by background in Windows 7 Professional. how to do this. I have Lr 4 and CS 5.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been photoshopping on and off for about 2 years now, sharing some of my stuff on a prowrestling message board (go figure). My skills (if you can call them that) are fairly limited.
Here's the inquiry I have...
I have a small logo. It's the only logo on the net of it's kind, so if there was a larger one, I'd have it. I need to enlarge it substantially for a t-shirt (for my significant other as an inside joke type gift). However due to the photo being so small, I lose major detail when I enlarge it.... This makes me a sad panda.
However, an aquantance told me that I can still maintain the quality if I make the image a vector then enlarge it. I nodded my head and agreed but truth be told, I've never used vectors before.
I've attached a link to the photo below, and I'm asking anyone for their help. Guiding me through the process of enlarging the photo without losing too much detail or making it lose focus would be cool. If it's a quick process but takes some skill,
I'm wanting to put up some pictures in my "study" that are influencing, read it in a magazine, and I remember these. Looking on the web it seems everyone "wished they'd come up with this ad campaign".
I'd like to enlarge them to A4 size as well, just to put them in glass frames, I don't know how legal this is but I can't find anywhere that sells them on the web, or who actually made them ?
I don't really understand the enlarging process
i need to create an very large scaled pic / stencil off a a4 sized jpeg image...
though every time i blow it up it all goes pair shaped...
cleaning up the image to be even slightly more visible?
im using cs3 photoshop.
Is there any way to enlarge the text in the panels, such as the "layers panel"? My eyesight just isn't what it used to be, and I would like to make it bigger. Is this even possible???
