Ive been layering lots of jpegs recently using a batch script that i created,it layers most of my other jpegs but theres some folders that it wont apply the layer to,in particular they are the type of jpegs that are with some form of text in the picture.
View 8 RepliesI'm having trouble saving my image as a jpeg.i get an image in photshop to where i really like it and then i go to save it and it ruins it. The jpeg doesnt even look like what the image did before i edited it in photoshop.
i'm in color mode sRGB and i try to save it as a value of 10 and progressive.
I am now unable to import any Raw or jpegs images into Lightroom. I have un-installed Lightroom 4 and then re-installed Lightroom 5 and still no luck. When I hit import I get a message that says "Unble to import a file to the requested location"
View 1 Replies View RelatedI keep getting this error message (see below) whenever I try to make jpegs from my layer comps using File-->Scripts-->Layer Comps from Files. This error always comes up after Photoshop gets through 2 or 3 comps. I often have to select only a few layer comps at a time to get it to make jpegs. I recently upgraded to Photoshop CS6.
Here is the message I get:
Error: General Photoshop error occurred. This functionality may not be available in this version of Photoshop. The object “layer comp 2054478963” is not currently available.
CS6 Windows. I am unable to select the layer to transform it when I have a path created. The only way I can select the layer is to delete the path.

Everything works perfectly fine but when I am in Photoshop trying to open my layer styles it will not pop up...but I know it's there because the hand shows up and I can't click anything else until I click enter which would mean im done in the layer styles.
I restarted my computer/re-installed Photoshop / downloaded the update...still doesn't work but it once did.
While I'm in ps cs5 and have converted a layer to a smart object, when I click/double click on the layer or the icon it will not open into camera raw. I have tried this with jpgs, tiffs and psd files, I have no other problems with raw, bridge of Photoshop. I have also downloaded the latest patch from Adobe.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've opened a photograph in CS3 (whereas the photograph is the background layer), and subsequently tried to use any of the tools (clone, eraser, etc) for editing with no success. Everything appears to be working properly with the tool bars, but when you click on the image to use it, nothing happens.
I thought maybe it was an issue with the layer being locked, but I've tried copying/pasting the image as a new layer in a new file (layer is unlocked at that point), but it still doesn't work.
After creating a duplicate layer of a stroke, I then click the thumbnail of an existing layer (where I want to move the copied layer to) while holding the control key, I see the image with marching ants border, and attempt the move the copied layer. I get the following message ' the request could not be completed because the sourse and the destination documents are the same.
View 7 Replies View RelatedRecently upgraded from CS2 --> CS5 in windows. This issue started with that upgrade. Been using PS for years.In my large PSD files I use folders to logically-group layers. With CS5, when I put layers into a folder, it automatically groups the layers (not links, groups). When trying to move the contents on ONE LAYER in a folder (using the mouse).... it moves ALL the layers in the folder.
If I use the keyboard ARROW keys, I can move the contents of one layer in a folder independently of the other layers in the folder.I have not explicitly asked PS to group or link ANYTHING in my file. The default seems to be to GROUP layers in a folder. It did not used to be this way.
If I UNGROUP the layers in the folder, it deletes the folder and the layers are now all at the root level. I lose my organization.The only way to get around this is either:
(1) leave the folder grouped and use the keyboard arrow keys to move the contents on one layer (way too cumber some), or
(2) MOVE the layer out of the folder, move the contents of it, then move the layer back into the folder.
I try to move text in a layer with the move tool. I highlight the text layer, select the move tool, and move the tool to the text. As soon as I click on the layer with my mouse, the highlight moves to an image layer below the text layer. I can move the text using the arrow keys, but that takes forever.

But then it was not allowing me to directly edit the layers. I cannot draw, paint, erase, smooth, etc. I can draw shapes and select and delete material, but have no independent control with the tools.
I am unable to copy a layer I have selected.
View 20 Replies View RelatedOdd behavior in released x64 version of CS6 for Windows: on my laptop (ASUS G73S with 1.5 gb nVidia GeForce video), when I crop an image, the drop-down menus in a curves adjustment layer become unclickable.
But I can still access the RGB channels using the Alt + 3, 4 and 5 shortcuts. This behavior doesn't occur on my workstation, and if I don't crop the image, the drop-down menus work fine. I have the crop tool set to delete pixels. Also, if I apply curves directly (not with an adjustment layer), the dialog box works OK. And the other adjustment layers seem to be working, too. It's only the curves layer that's doing this.
When i am using layer masks in elements 9 I can conceal paint with a black brush, but when I want to go back over something to reveal (white brush) nothing happens. I have the layer mask selected as active and it works perfectly fine in reverse (black).
View 1 Replies View RelatedI went to lock a Layer (the whole layer) and could not - I had to Lock the item IN the Layer (one item: and the Layer still did show as Locked).I have a screen shot; but, it's been a bit & I don't see how-to attach it.Plus, shouldn't I have been able to Lock the Layer & the item in it? Is this a Bug?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've come across an issue using X6 I haven't seen before. After working on a multi-layer pspimage file, saving it and reloading I can no longer edit one of the raster layers. When the layer is selected with the pick tool it shows the circle with line when mousing over. It was not merged or locked so not sure what's causing this and never came across this with any of the previous PSP versions I've used.
PSP X6 16.1.0.48
UPDATE: Tried making sure it was the top layer and still could not edit the layer. I then made all the other layers invisible and at that point it would allow editing the image. Is there some hidden feature in X6 I'm missing or is this a quirk?
In this particular drawing I have a layer I can see in my Layers Properties Manager but I cannot find in my drawing and it will not let me remove it.

I have objects in a layer and I want them displayed as wireframe. The problem is that it seems that I can't do that when in Nitrous diplay mode!
I go to the layer properties, choose wireframe in the upper right corner and set all the objects' display properties to "By Layer". And nothing happens! They are still displayed shaded. When I switch to Direct3D display mode however everything works perfectly fine as it should.
There's something I've noticed with Nitrous. Many things in Max don't work fine when it's used - Xrefs can't be displayed as box, edges are breaking up (non-continuous) and tend to disappear when at the periphery of an object. And now, layer properties don't work as well? What gives?! I thought Nitrous was the recommended display driver (at least that's what it says in Preferences) but it turns out that important functionality is broken when you use it so you have to revert back to the good old Direct3D.
Yesterday I download Gimp 2.8 and after eyedropper bug I found out that can´t move text layer during editing it. I don´t think to move layer tool.
I can´t move the layer during editing. I can move only with the borders of the text range. When I want move with active text layer, I must do it through the "move layer tool".
When I load an image either a jpeg or psd file then make a layer copy I am unable to apply a preset action to this. Either a default action or one of my own on a Mac OSX running Lion. This did not present a problem in CS5 and I am wondering if I've missed something basic?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am starting to color some old line art (cartoons) but can't get any (eraser, brush etc) tools to work on the non background layer. I could just auto fill on the background but that is too finicky, too many open shapes that end up filling the whole page in that color! I want so that I can color in indiscriminately w/o worrying about covering my lines.
How come I can't get so that when I erase, I don't get the transparency checkerboard underneath? I put the BG layer on top then the erase tool does not work! What fundamental thing did I forget?
There's a layer in the drawing we received from the surveyor that doesn't match the client's standards. When I try to merge it with another layer or delete the layer, the command stops as soon as I pick a line on the layer. There are no objects visible on the layer so it may part of a style. I don't think it's part of a block as the surveyor used the client's blocks.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have created my own graphics from scratch with GIMP, but the resolution to this issue is eluding me.
I imported a GIF map and want to add red labels. I have no problem adding the labels, but I cannot seem to get the text colored red. Before I create the text layer, the text tool shows the color is red, but it still creates it black. All of the suggestions I've seen (yes, I've read the fine manual) reference the same things, including dragging the color from the foreground color (which I've also changed to red). Nothing I've tried seems to work. I've even saved the image as an XCF, but I have the same problem.
I seem to be unable to rename either layers or images if they are being exported. When I use alphabet letters to rename a layer, for example, GIMP toggles through tools. It is using shortcuts to open different things? . I have something checked or unchecked that will allow alphabetic renaming....where do I look ?

Every time that i try to open the "LPM" it gives me an error that says
I have never seen this error before but its making it very miserable for me to have to seperate my work in layers without the use of the "LPM"
I have already un-installed & re-installed twice frankly i don't have anymore time to do this because i have deadlines i need to meet and its becoming a very big pain.
what happened but the layer properties manager box does not open any more?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am working on a .dwg file in AutoCAD 2013 , and on one specific layer (defpoints), I am not able to select any of the objects. Initially, I thought that the layer may have been locked or frozen, but it is not. Additionally, I went ahead and locked then unlocked the layer as well as froze then thawed the layer, still not able to select any objects on the layer.
My next attempt to fix the problem was to run the command "AUDIT", and instructed to "Yes" fix any errors detected. The command seemed to execute correctly, however, it did not do anything. The objects on the layer still cannot be selected.
