Nov 15, 2013My issue right now that I can't seem to find an answer to is it seems that when a certain engineer in my office opens a drawing at her computer and saves it, the drawing is slightly "twisted" i guess you could say.
I have a fix to this issue, for example, I use DVIEW and change the points to 0,0,0 and 0,0,1. Which works just fine and fixes it. But for some strange reason it seems like after she opens the file and saves it, the target point usually ends up as something like 1.35454,2.5664721,0.0000076 And I know that the last coordinate is what causes the problem.
I'm just curious if there may be a variable or something set on her computer that would keep causing that to happen when she opens a drawing so that I can set it back to default and eliminate the time spent on running the DVIEW command on every drawing that she opens.

Mar 1, 2013The attached picture is me trying to balloon a part. I would like to just add some notes to the balloon so that I can update them manually but all I can find is to have a symbol. So I created a symbol, the insertion point for the symbol is shown. For some reason I get an extra number and the symbol offcenter. Why is this happening? What I'm really looking for is a balloon that is fully customizable so that I can just add text to the top and bottom and fill out the details.

Basically I have a lot of points on a map and I'd like to be able to name the points along with other data like tooltip callouts, etc populated via XML then loop through the XML to build the points of interest on the map. If I can get the above working I can place that variable path reference into an array and grab the data from it later. But the path is not working the way I have it.

GIMP :: Full Size Image Of Batman Type Symbol
Nov 2, 2012I've been messing around with this shape, mostly based on ideas from the skull medallion tutorial over at Gimp users, and was wondering what is causing the white jagged line that appears along the bottom of the wing and also to the outer edges. It only appears after I have run the Lighting Effects filter.It's not too obvious on the full size image of the batman type symbol, but becomes quite noticeable when a section is enlarged.

Sep 17, 2012I am having problems copying/pasting an image into Gimp. Instead of the image itself being pasted, it pastes the mac symbol for Jpeg (the photo of the little Asian boy by the sea with the camera lens on top). The same happens pasting an EPS file. I don't understand as I have managed to paste an image before. I have tried pasting into selection/pasting as new image/pasting as new layer. All the same. Neither will Gimp let me drag an image into it from finder or the desktop. I've tried opening a new file from scratch too. Same problem.
I'm using a macbook pro. OX 10.6.8
Illustrator :: Making JPG Image A Symbol - Drop Shadow Effect
Mar 26, 2013I have a jpg image that I use multiple times in an illustrator file, and I wanted to be more efficient by making it into a symbol. So I embedded the image, made it a symbol, then updated my Illustrator file, replacing the instances of that image with the symbol-version of the image. I then tried to add a drop shadow effect to one of those symbols. Although the effect was listed on the appearance menu, it didn't actually show up visibly on the screen. However, if I added a non-shadow effect to the symbol (e.g. blur .1 pixel) then added a drop shadow, the shadow would then appear. Oddly, I have other images that I have made into symbols where this problem does not occur. Perhaps it's some weird image format issue?

I'm using Illustrator CS6 trial version (16.0.3 64 bit). on a Win 8-64 laptop.

Feb 28, 2014Well, I need a little slideshow of images, the code for mouse events (click, mouseover, mouseout, etc.) is the same for all images, then I create a symbol with one image inside for this, and drag&drop instances to stage, but now I don't know how change the image source of other symbols. In design time, when right click over any symbol instance only edit symbol it's possible (not single instance), and I don't know if is possible to change the image source of any symbol instance by code.

Jan 31, 2014I have a top banner for a website - the website is fully made in Edge.
The banner is 540px high, and 100% width. (Stage width is also set to 100%)
Now inside this banner, I want a large image to show.
The center of this image should correspond to the center of the banner.
The width of the image should be 100% of the banner. (Hence 100% of the browser window).
The height of the image should remain proportional to the width of the banner, i.e. no distortions. (Was using auto before)
The overflow should be hidden. (So basically the image is always 100% width of the browser window, and the height overflows both both up and down).
Somehow in ver 3 of Edge Animate I can't get all these options to work at the same time - can't use 100% width and auto height for an image anymore.

The text and image code work, however my problem is with setting the link. It always sets all the symbols to the last name in the names[] array. What I want it to do is to set the link to the personalised name in the array. So the HH button will link to hugh.html and the BM button will link to brym.html etc.
For now I'm going to play around a bit and see what happens.
