In CS5, you could have mulitple images open in tabs, and there would be no additioanal padding around the canvas area; the image would lock in place to the upper left.
Now in tabs in CS6, the canvas floats in space. Any way to have tabs and get rid of the space/padding?
I have turned off tabbed windows in the Window menu and can now open my images in their own automatically sized windows as before. The problem is that if for any reason I double click on an open image, all images switch back to tabbed mode. To revert to non-tabbed mode I then have to use the Window menu again but it then cascades the images in identically sized windows and to get back to my original layout I have to click each one in turn and select "Fit to Image" from the Window menu.
Why would I double click an image in the first place? Well normally I wouldn't but it is surprising how easily it can be done by accident. If at that time I have 20-30 images open, which is often the case, it is very time consuming to reset them all.
Is there a way to have all my files open as "floating windows" (the way it used to be) every time I start photoshop and/or every time I open a new file? I do not like the new interface and every time I open a new file I have to go to that drop down button and click "float all in windows".

I'm no longer able to select "Float in Windows" or Float All in Windows". These items don't activate; they remain dark. I can see only one image at a time now. How to get it back?

At the very least, I'd like to position x-refs in a particular order and then lock them there so that they never mistakenly change order. For example...

Next: Hatch pattern *.dwg x-ref file
Next: Existing topo *.dwg x-ref file
Next: Proposed linework *.dwg x-ref file
Front: Everything else in that specific primary file
I generally dislike nesting x-refs if I can avoid it.

I had this working just fine, then made some changes (including deleting some reference planes) and now I can't get it to work. I need to lock a diagonal reference plane to the intersection of 2 orthogonal reference planes, so that my door (on an angle) will slide toward the fixed corner, instead of the corner moving toward the door. It must be something simple I did the first time that I'm just not thinking of this time around...
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am using Photoshop a lot for more simple tasks, like re-sizing pictures.
Lately I have run into a problem: when I have opened a file and choose the Image/Image Size from the toolbar, Photoshop sort of locks up and will not let me make any modifications to the file. I can escape the lock by pressing the [Esc] button, but I am not allowed to do any re-sizing.
At first I thought this had something to do with the layer being locked, but even when renaming or copying the layer, and unlocking, the same lock-up happens when I try to re-sieze the new layer!
This is a recent problem, didn't use to happen, so I may inadvertently have changed some kind of setting in Photoshop. But a search in Help or this forum has not come up with any solution.
I do most of my stuff on A3 and have my paper space sheets set up for this no problems. When I have my drawing in paper space i usually set the scale to what I want. Now, when I am still in paper space with my correct scale, I want to change to model space and move or position the drawing exactly where I want it on my sheet , without it going out of scale. I have a very sensitive middle button on the mouse, and when I hold it down to move the drawing around, it goes out of scale I want to lock the scale first before moving the drawing around.

It behaves as if the mouse has been clicked outside of the Inventor window. It appears to occur once per minute or so (with no activity on my part). The window just requires that I click on it with the mouse again.

I have to resize every time, just to see the right-most parts of my image when I zoom in.

I'm forcing myself to work with the tabbed image interface as I assume someone thought this new feature was a good idea.
I often drag or shift+drag layers from one image to another, whether it be adjustments or image elements that need to be placed (in register) as a layer in another open image.
But when I use the tabbed interface mode any attempt to drag a layer from one tab to another does not work.
Just switched from Elements 10 to 11. How do I slide multiple windows to place them around the computer screen withiout leaving a cutout area (as in E11) as they do in Elements 10?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just upgrade to Windows8 x64 and I'm using Illustrator 64 CS6. I am trying to drag and drop a TIF file off my desktop in to a document like I have so many times before in Illustrator but my cursor is showing the 'No' symbol (circle with line thru it).
It is working in Photoshop tho.
I am currently trying to update OS from XP to 7. In the past (XP) I was able to put my code just about any place in the Program directory. Win 7 on the other hand is giving me all kinds of write errors.

This gives me an error of:"Bad Argument: Invalid Resource Format"...I'm at a loss to find the error. I'm a simple SIMPLE dialog at this point.
PSP x4 SP1, EDIT view. I disabled tabbed documents. If I minimize a pic or pics and then restore, the pic or pics restore into tabs. When I subsequently go to Window >Tabbed Document and click, all of the pics cascade (ignoring my preference to have the MDI windows fit the pictures). The Window > Tabbed Documents command is never unchecked throughout all of this. I can't make it be unchecked - it remains checked.

I had given up on x4, but I thought I'd try the service pack. Corel did fix the copy/paste offset error. But, after a few hours of configuring (again) and playing with SP1, I still think that x4 is not ready for prime time. I feel that it is a waste of upgrade money and a regrettable waste of my time.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI work with OpenEXRs 3D renders alot. While they are usually lossless at 32bpc, there are options to save at lossy 24-bit float and lossy 16-bit float with drastically reduced file sizes.(Photoshop still opens them up as 32bpc)
How do these compare to Photoshop's 16bit color? (Which I'm assuming is 16-bit integer?)At 16-bit float, I'm throwing out half the color information, but I'd still have vastly more color information than 16-bit integer? When do I really need 32bpc float? And when is 16bpc float "good enough"?
When I do double click to open a file of Illustrator, the application starts with a little interface and then a dialog box that says "Not enough space for the window, increase the size of the document and try again" appears.

View 2 Replies View RelatedThe program seems to run fine except that I cannot move or float the panels. They move ever so slightly and lock in place when I attempt to drag them. The only way to get them back is to do a workspace reset.
I am running Vista 32 bit, Nvidia 8600gt, Intel core 2 duo 2.33hz, and 4gb ram.
I have the Production Suite CS4. I can move panels in every program but Photoshop.
I have reset the configuration folders, tried a selective startup in msconfig and reinstalling Production Suite.
