Aug 3, 2012Using Photoshop CS5 for the PC.
When I select a layer and look at the info panel, I see that the layer height and width is shown apparently by default in percentages. Specifically 100% Height and 100% Width.
I would prefer that the Info panel show height and width in Pixels instead of Percentages. Finally, after seeing the height and width in Pixels I want to change the height by entering the height in pixels. How can I do that?
I don't want to use a "ruler" to do this, I just want to be able to enter the pixels (height and width) that I want the layer to b resized. For example when selecting a rectangle that is currently 100 pixels tall and 50 pixels wide, I want to be able to just change 50 pixels wide by entering (in a field) 25 to make it 25 pixels wide.
In Fireworks I resize by pixels all the time. But can't find a similar method in Photoshop.

Dec 12, 2012I need to be able to re-size images that are large than 1MB in order to put them on our MLS site.
My previous computer had 2 arrow icons on the desktop.
One was for re-sizing horizontal pics and the other for re-sizing vertical pics.
I could simply drag/drop the image file onto these re-sizing icons and they would be re-sized.
The smaller file size thumbnail would appear on the desktop.
How can I get these re-sizing tools on my new computer's desktop?
I am using CS6.

However, I'm trying to get it that when I select a coloured pixel that all the other pixels of that colour are highlighted.
The magic wand seems to be the sort of tool I need but it highlights all colours/pixels that are similar; I want all pixels that have the exact RGB as the pixel selected.

If I print them out at normal size, they come out very clear but if I resize them so that I may fit many shots on a 8.5 X 11 inch page, the become very blurry. In the end, all the newly resized images would stay the same size as before.

Sep 22, 2005reguarding digital photographs. I have been working in Photoshop for 10 years, but I just started serious digital photography. I purchased the Canon Eos Rebel XT 8mp camera. My question is what is the best way to resize images? The camera produces 3456 x 2304 pixel images. Which comes out to 48 x 32 inches at 72 dpi. I have tried the Bicubic Smoother and Sharper settings. For example I am designing a magazine cover with one of these images, obvisouly it needs to be a high res image for printing. What is the best way to size down that image? On the flip side, I want to print one of those images at 24x36 for a poster design, alsohigh res printing. What is the best way to size that as well? I am just looking for a workflow and getting the most out of this great camera.

Oct 18, 2013I'm working together with a photographic studio in order to study better ways to cut subjects in their photos. So, instead of using the ways we use to cut. We have taken 2 photos for the product. The first is only the background, and the second is the beackground with the product. Look at the attachments in this message. It's a simple example (not taken in the studio, with control of lights and so on, but should work for testing purposes).
Looking at the 2 images, you can see the bottle and his reflex or shadow is the unique content that changes between the 2 scenarios. If you try, for example, place each file as a layer, group them into a smart object then use stack modes, you can take off the bottle from the scenario. We are trying to find a way to get the inverse (leave only the bottle). So, if finding any combination of technique that works, we could speed time in the cutting process by already taking images this way.
(perhaps a combination of blending, use of channels....), anything that could compare the 2 images and calculate the different pixels (this case, the bottle)? or perhaps reach an alpha channel that makes easy to perfectlly cut the image.The difference blending mode, for example, makes a calculation of pixels, but I did not get so much sucess working based on this blend

Dec 1, 2004I am in the process of resizing Tiff images to JPEG thumbnails, 640x433 pixels. The problem is finding the best solution to do batch processing. I have archived my "Clouds," files on 10 DVDs so far and still have the original folders on my HD.
I want to now resized them to archive on CDRs, for distribution to stock houses etc., thus I need your assistance. The integrity, color, quality has to mirror the original images.

Nov 20, 2008Formerly using other image software, I have just loaded up CS2 and have a quick project to output that has about 1,000 images in it. All the images need to be stretched width wise by about 133%. Can someone direct me to a quick way to do this on ALL the images quickly instead of one by one as I did with my old software? The images are all .BMP's
Also, and second to the above, if someone can direct me to Adobe CS2 tutorials either free online or purchasable on DVD that would be quite helpful.

I usually start by entering the pixel parametrs, then use "trial and error" until I get a file that fits the given constraints and they are often too small, or too grainy. What is the workflow? Where do I start and how to I end up with the best result? The "Pixel Dimensions" don't seem to reflect the file size. Is the answer in the popup that asks for small, medium, or large file size?

I have tried 4256 x 2835 at 300 ppi as generated by the psd file and it looks dreadful on a large screen. I don't have ready access to large screens, so I am not able to experiment myself. Aug 6, 2013 I have been using Duotone with my photos, but since the other day, everytime that I process a photo this way, when I convert then back to RGB mode, the dark (black) areas of the photo become a kind of bitmap of red pixels. I have tried with many different photos from RAW or JPEG files and I get the same result with all of them.
This is an example of the issue. The original is on the left. What may cause this? The photo looks good in duo tone. It is when converting to RGB when the corruption happens.
