I'm fairly new to Photoshop. I'm trying to resize a image which I've pasted into a layer, I know how to Transform and rescale the image but I'd like to enter the width of the image in Pixels somewhere.
I'm designing an advert for a billboard, I've created an A4 landscape canvas and I'd like to put 5 images at the bottom of the canvas but I'd like to set them all to the same size which fits across the whole width of the canvas.
I have two similar images of a group of people. I need to cut and paste two of the heads onto to the other image because their expressions are better.
Unfortunately, I seem to have stepped forward a little when taking the photograph, so consequently the proportions are a bit out when I cut and paste.
I want to create a collage. I set a feather value, make a selection out of a 2nd image and paste it into another file. Pastes in fine, but when I try and grab the corner of the pasted layer and resize it to be smaller, for some reason (I have done this approach on 20 other occasions), it doesn't resize as a rectangle as it should. It starts to resize as an octagon type shape. The following link shows an example of a freshly pasted layer that I tried to resize. There must be some setting that got changed because I have done this across four different versions of paint shop

When I copy and paste a pdf document into Corel Draw, it seems as the default size of the pasted object reflects anywhere from 23" (left to right) & 17" (top to bottom) = 23"x17". After selecting the object, & entering an object size of 8" x 11", the document then resizes to 2"x3". So, then I always have to enter the 8"x11" again for it to finally accept that size - which it always does, but on the 2nd time trying.

My previous computer had 2 arrow icons on the desktop.
One was for re-sizing horizontal pics and the other for re-sizing vertical pics.
I could simply drag/drop the image file onto these re-sizing icons and they would be re-sized.
The smaller file size thumbnail would appear on the desktop.
How can I get these re-sizing tools on my new computer's desktop?
I am using CS6.
I have the latest gimp.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI can't seem to copy a part of a layer into another layer. When I do that, the pasted layer becomes invisible. The pasted layer seems to be visible only when it's on its own layer.

When I cut out a group of people from a photo for the purpose of dropping them on top of a new background, I usually run into the same problem. Even tho' I may have set them on top of a concrete sidewalk or the likes, they still have that look of hovering or floating in mid air.

I modified an image of some fabric to create a texture then pasted that texture into another image and had happy results. I'm trying to do it again tonight with a different texture I created but when I try to paste it into the other image the pasted layer is not visible. The layer transparency is set to 100, and, of course, the 'show layer" eye is clicked.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I use the Lasso Select tool to Cut a selected image (in this case, a person from a photo), then paste them onto another photo, the pasted image is surrounded by an outline, so that it is not "seamless." How can I paste it so that it blends with the background, and does not have this outline, or border? I tried pasting into new layer, and pasting just straight into the destination photo. The objective is: Two family group photos of the same size, nearly identical in every way - need to cut person from one photo, paste into second photo that was taken seconds later, so that ALL the family is included in the photo.

The background of the image before pasting (on the original site) is white (or maybe transparent). However, when I paste the image onto GIMP, the background changes to black, which envelops the black outline and ruins the picture. How can I paste this image so that the background remains white/transparent?
View 7 Replies View Relatedpasting new layers happens so often it's getting a bit redundant to always move my cursor over to the Layers panel, right-click and select New Layer (just the way I have been doing it) to get around the Floating Selection behaviour.
I'm wondering if there is a keyboard shorcut, or if I can change the default behaviour to automatically paste it as a new layer and not as a floating selection, or if there is some other trick people here like using to save time.
As stated I'm using Mac OSX (ML) with GIMP 2.8.3.
When I make a standard print of any object, I normally offer two or three views, I also include an isometric view of the object that I draw in a 3-D program, and I cut and paste a screen shot of that image into my Autocad file. I do this for the few of our Brothers who have a problem reading standard blueprints for their own reasons. After cut and paste, I find that the image quality is extremely poor, with ragged and unclear edges, I am not sure but I think the poor quality edges are called tesselation. Is there a solution to this condition?

I take photos of jewelry and work with them in Photoshop 6.0. I'm trying to take photo of very small items in closeup mode. If I print them out at normal size, they come out very clear but if I resize them so that I may fit many shots on a 8.5 X 11 inch page, the become very blurry. How do I resize closeup shots in photoshop so that they come out clear at smaller sizes?

Prior to sending this, everything was working okay and now nothing will resize. my file path was file menu > automate > batch > and then I would choose my source and destination for the resized images.
In the end, all the newly resized images would stay the same size as before.
reguarding digital photographs. I have been working in Photoshop for 10 years, but I just started serious digital photography. I purchased the Canon Eos Rebel XT 8mp camera. My question is what is the best way to resize images? The camera produces 3456 x 2304 pixel images. Which comes out to 48 x 32 inches at 72 dpi. I have tried the Bicubic Smoother and Sharper settings. For example I am designing a magazine cover with one of these images, obvisouly it needs to be a high res image for printing. What is the best way to size down that image? On the flip side, I want to print one of those images at 24x36 for a poster design, alsohigh res printing. What is the best way to size that as well? I am just looking for a workflow and getting the most out of this great camera.

I am upgrading from cs2 to cs4 and I noticed the Layer window is 65px wider in cs4. I norrowed the change to the "Blending Modes' dropdown box. See screen shot. http://www.inspiredvisuals.com/test/tabwidth.jpg

I have a few images to merge together and having trouble.
I have a nice background and an image of a person with no background.
I create a new layer on top of my background and then import my image of the person. I can move it arround the layer but how do I make it smaller?
This is probably a basic one for most people, but I'm pretty clueless... I've got a fairly large image (3000px) that I need to scale down to 500-ish px. How do I best go about doing this without getting that awful 'halo' effect? I've tried gradually scaling down without much success.

I am in the process of resizing Tiff images to JPEG thumbnails, 640x433 pixels. The problem is finding the best solution to do batch processing. I have archived my "Clouds," files on 10 DVDs so far and still have the original folders on my HD.
I want to now resized them to archive on CDRs, for distribution to stock houses etc., thus I need your assistance. The integrity, color, quality has to mirror the original images.
Formerly using other image software, I have just loaded up CS2 and have a quick project to output that has about 1,000 images in it. All the images need to be stretched width wise by about 133%. Can someone direct me to a quick way to do this on ALL the images quickly instead of one by one as I did with my old software? The images are all .BMP's

I have a folder that has about 100 photos. They are 2048 x 1536 and are around 1.2 MB in size. Also, their orientation is mixed. Meaning, some of them are horizontal (landscape) and some of them are verticle (portrait).
How do I mass-change their size?
I have approximately 7000 images they are either 400 pixels tall or wide or 450 pixels tall or wide. This are product images and Amazon requires the images be 1000 pixels wide or tall. Is there a way to automate the process so PS recognizes longest side and it height/width and enlarges to 1000 pixels. If so, what is the magic formula?
