Photoshop :: Is Percentages Of Width And Height Appear As Pixels
Jun 1, 2012Whenever I am about to change the dimension of an element, in the option bar, width and height appear in percentages.
Is there a way I can make these appear in pixels?
GIMP :: Image Size (width 3072 And Height 2048 Pixels)
Oct 4, 2013I need to have a pic finish at (width-3072 and height- 2048 pixels). When I click on file>new I put in those dimensions, but when I am done with pic and I export it, the picture shrinks to very small. The only way around this is to maximize the image in Gimp to 100% and use my snipping tool to outline the image, then "save as". This will save it large, but not the size I need.
My brothers and I took some pics and I added a couple things in one of mine, to try to fake them out. If the size of THAT image is way different than the rest, the fake out will not work. I normally use Faststone to re-size my images but it will not re-size my Gimp images.

Photoshop :: Resizing Photo Of Paintings So They All Are Same Height?
Apr 8, 2013Last week I have made photo's of 140 different paintings. Some paintings were very big, some were very small, some where rectangle shape, some were square shape. All paintings were set upon a stand and I photographed all of them from my tripod. So you can understand that on some pictures I have large paintings and on some photos I have small paintings.
Now I want to remove everything around the painting so that my photo ONLY shows the painting (even the border around the painting has to be removed).
First I select only the painting. Then I inverse my selection and remove it. So I'm now left with a photo of only the painting. So far no problem.Then I select the painting and with CTRL T I place the 'reference point location to the upper left corner and than set the height to 2000px. The painting now becomes 2000px high, but the width isn't corrected so I click on the 'maintain aspect ratio' and the painting is okay. This is now done with (for example a square painting).
But when I now perform this action on a rectangle painting, the end-result is a square painting.

However I've hit a snag, I need to resize a layer with variable width/height to fit within a certain width/height while constraining ratios. Say I need a layer to be a maximum of 1000px high OR a maximum of 2000px wide, whichever comes first. I need the layers to either increase or decrease in size to fit the "frame".

Oct 27, 2012In PS5, if I start with a picture 5184 x 3456, I could crop a picture to be 2100 by 1500 by setting these parameters in the crop tool. No matter whether I decided to make a big crop or a small crop, my final image was always 2100 x 1500.
In PS6, however, I don't think the crop tool parameters work the same way. If I set the crop parameters to 2100 by 1500, my final crop is NOT 2100 by 1500, but rather my final crop is whatever original pixels I selected.
What is the EASIEST way to accomplish a final crop of 2100 x 1500 on PS6?

Photoshop :: Batch Resize With MAXIMUM Width/Height
Mar 4, 2006I am creating a photo gallery for the web. I will store the very large original images, a large version to fit in the browser window and a thumbnail.
I am creating these using Photoshop Actions and a batch process.
The problem is for the large images I want the maximum width of the images to be 575px and the maximum height to be 525px.
This means that if the image is portrait it will be sized based on its height, but if it is landscape it will be resized based on its width. (I want to resize it proportionally obviously).
Can I make it do this in photoshop?
At the moment some images are either coming out too long or too tall.

I am having is that if the original image is smaller than what I want the large images to be then I dont want it to make it bigger.

When I select a layer and look at the info panel, I see that the layer height and width is shown apparently by default in percentages. Specifically 100% Height and 100% Width.
I would prefer that the Info panel show height and width in Pixels instead of Percentages. Finally, after seeing the height and width in Pixels I want to change the height by entering the height in pixels. How can I do that?
I don't want to use a "ruler" to do this, I just want to be able to enter the pixels (height and width) that I want the layer to b resized. For example when selecting a rectangle that is currently 100 pixels tall and 50 pixels wide, I want to be able to just change 50 pixels wide by entering (in a field) 25 to make it 25 pixels wide.
In Fireworks I resize by pixels all the time. But can't find a similar method in Photoshop.
