Photoshop Elements :: Cannot Enter Any Values In Width And Height Boxes
Nov 10, 2012
I'm using photoshop elements 2.0 and window vista. when i want to crop i cannot enter any values in the width and height boxes. the cursor won't enter. same thing with resolution.
I cannot type in any numerical values whatsoever in any field, be it text size, brush size or even the size of a new document. I don't remember playing with any settings and I've already closed & opened PS several times and restarted my computer. Code:
How do I turn on the dialog boxes when I enter commands? I finally found HPDLGMODE for the hatch command, but I would like it for all commands, especially array.
I want to specify a selection, is there a way to do that, or to show what pixel number you are on in Photoshop 7.0? I have an image that is 200w X 127h. I am going to be slicing this into two different images. My top image needs to be 200w X 91h and the lower 200w X 36h.
how do I add height (say 200px) to an image without distorting what I already have on the canvas? Whenever I add an additional 200px, everything stretches. How can I just add 200px of extra white/blank space to the canvas?
I want to write the words HAPPY and BIRTHDAY underneath each other so that the word HAPPY takes up the the same width as the word BIRTHDAY. I also want to make the HAPPY twice as tall as the word BIRTHDAY.
Do I need to adjust the spacing and/or width for each individual letter? I'm guessing I can make the HAPPY taller by some kind of stretching tool?
I need to change the width and height of some text i'm inputting to and image so that the height is 100% and the width is 75% in ariel size 11, how do i do it? I cannot find the answer on google,
also, the phrase capitalized, is this some special setting or does it just mean write in capitals
I am trying to create an action for watermarking. However, I would like to be able to size my logo to be a specific % of the entire canvas size, i.e. 20% width to be a part of my action so that the logo is always proportional to the image size.
I'm making an action that I'm going to batch apply to a lot of images.
However I've hit a snag, I need to resize a layer with variable width/height to fit within a certain width/height while constraining ratios. Say I need a layer to be a maximum of 1000px high OR a maximum of 2000px wide, whichever comes first. I need the layers to either increase or decrease in size to fit the "frame".
In PS5, if I start with a picture 5184 x 3456, I could crop a picture to be 2100 by 1500 by setting these parameters in the crop tool. No matter whether I decided to make a big crop or a small crop, my final image was always 2100 x 1500.
In PS6, however, I don't think the crop tool parameters work the same way. If I set the crop parameters to 2100 by 1500, my final crop is NOT 2100 by 1500, but rather my final crop is whatever original pixels I selected.
What is the EASIEST way to accomplish a final crop of 2100 x 1500 on PS6?
I am creating a photo gallery for the web. I will store the very large original images, a large version to fit in the browser window and a thumbnail.
I am creating these using Photoshop Actions and a batch process.
The problem is for the large images I want the maximum width of the images to be 575px and the maximum height to be 525px.
This means that if the image is portrait it will be sized based on its height, but if it is landscape it will be resized based on its width. (I want to resize it proportionally obviously).
Can I make it do this in photoshop?
At the moment some images are either coming out too long or too tall.

I am having is that if the original image is smaller than what I want the large images to be then I dont want it to make it bigger.
I amm trying to animate a series of boxes... I want to change their height when they intersect another geometry... but I have a problem... I'm trying to calculate the distance of top face of the boxes and the other geometry with tape helper, but I can calculate only from center of the geomtery instead of the surface, that is was I searching...

Suppose I have a rectangle 10 x 8 and then I join the middle points of the widths with a line ... so I will end up with 2 boxes of 5 x 8. Now what I need to do is to stretch the side by 2 units to become 12 by 8 but I want the middle line to move automatically during the stretching process so I end up with two boxes of 6 x 8.
Is it possible to use something like a parameter that would allow you to enter a width in the element properties window of the selected wall(s)?
we would like to have a generic wall (outline only) that the width can be changed per wall for layout purposes, then the walls will be selected & changed later to an actual wall with known materials.
I am currently rendering 3D models' height maps using a gradient ramp with an UVW map. The models can be trees, characters etc, it's not terrain.
I would really like to know how to use all 16,777,216 colors so that my height maps have that many different values.
So far I only managed to used the gradient ramp and gain a total of 766 different height values. I use 4 colors in the gradient, here is how:
- First gradient ramp color is full black, and placed at position 0 - Second one is at position 33 and is RGB(0, 0, 255) - Third one is at position 67 and is RGB(0, 255, 255) - Fourth one is full white at position 100
This totals 766 different height values retrieved using R+G+B (0 to 255+255+255). What should I do to use the full 16 millions colors?
With my current gradient ramp I cannot use the whole RGB value (i.e. a 24 bits integer, 0 - 16,777,215). I have to separate channels into 8 bits integers (0-255), because with 24 bits a higher value is not necessarily representing a higher height. That's due to the way my gradient is made, and I couldn't find better than what I use.
I am struggling to understand why Illustrator is changing the values inside the RGB and CMYK boxes. I am also not sure of the exact relationship between these vaues. Essentially, it appears that if you set the Document Color Mode to RGB, it leaves the RGB values that you type in alone. If you set the Document Color Mode to CMYK, it leaves the CMYK values alone.
But as soon as you change the Color Mode, it automatically modifies the values. So if you were in RGB mode and you set some RGB values, it changes those RGB values when you switch to CMYK mode. And vice versa.
I had thought that the CMYK palette was a subset of the RGB palette. It would make sense to me if it did this when I switched from RGB to CMYK mode, but it doesn't make sense to me why it does this when I switch from CMYK to RGB mode.
The other thing I am confused about is the relationship of the values in the RGB boxes to the values in the CMYK boxes. I would have thought that the relationship between them would be static. Actually, it is not. When I am in CMYK mode and I enter a CMYK value of 90 16 0 0, the RGB values become 0 158 222. But when I switch over to RGB mode, the RGB values of 0 158 222 result in CMYK values of 75 23 0 0.
I design a small plant in Autocad 2012. For the pipes we used cylinders and boxes(for square pipe), now we need to make the bill of materials, but I don't know how to extract the data from each cylinder(radius and height) or box.
It is possible to do this?
I place a small sample from the plant. Totally I am having around 6000 elements.
I'm trying to export an image of a certain width and height but when I click on export, the size doesn't remain the same. I try to change it back to the normal size but it's impossible as one number gets altered if I change the other.
I have tried with the "maintain aspect ratio" option checked and also unchecked. This has never happened before, I've always been able to export with the exact size I want, although very often I find the width and height change when I click on export but I have been able to change it back until now.
Where is the option to control page width & height so that you can make both even measurements? I typically get something like w 1920.4px & h 1080px. When I try to change the width to 1920 the height adjusts as well. I know there is a simple fix for this but I can't find it.
I am a professional web developer and I have been trying to do something for a while, well thats not quiet true I have achieved this but I cannot believe its as complex as it appears to be. I want to create CSS Sprite pages, I have looked at the graphic library with its buttons and to be honest they are great but I cannot get over how you can split the mouse over images from the static none roll over images within the layers section.
Just finally can I set a snap grid with a width and height so for example I want a grid of width 100 and height say 35? again to aid in me creating CSS Sprite pages.
I have two different images. Both are set at Height and Width: 7 by 10.5 inches. However, whenever I view them, the one is always bigger than the other one. Does this have something to do with the pixel dimensions? I see that the pixel dimensions of the one is much larger.
