Photoshop :: Saving In Different Formats
Jun 23, 2007I have a Photoshop file (PSD) with 2 layers: a white background and one layer with text.
When I click "save" to save my PSD in another format, the list for available file formats become limited. There is no option for JPG, GIF, TIF, PNG, etc...

Sep 29, 2012With Photoshop CS6 Extended when i go to save image as jpeg it shows as file name.iff, if save as png it shows file name.pxe and save file as pdf it shows file name.pcx. All formats seem to show another format.I have done all the updates. On a mac as well.

Feb 4, 2014I really love the new feature in Autodesk 3dsMax 2013 and 2014 which allows you to save your MAX file to an older format, this has been a great addition and useful a lot with the work and staff we associate with who all have different versions of 3dsMax.
Question... is there a setting in 3dsMax which you can enable/disable which once you save to an older version 3dsMax will continue to save to this version. Example... we're using 3dsMax 2014 and our clients are using 3dsMax 2012 so we will: File > Save As > Save as 3dsMax 2012 format. However during the modelling process staff will click the Save button in the toolbar or Hotkey "CTRL + S" to quicksave and this will default back to 3dsMax 2014 format. 3dsMax files then get delivered to the client and they can't open it.
The information is provided in the Properties so it 3dsMax does know what format the user has specified to save the file in.

So I attempted to download Service Pack 2 for Suite X4 but the installation fails on three attempts.

Oct 25, 2013Several days ago I noticed my files sizes were enormous. I was unable to even open them to work on them. Something that was once 517KB becomes 161MB the next time I save it.
After I installed the Corel update this morning, things were back to working as usual. But tonight it's back to the huge files. I saved a simple greeting card file - no halftones, no gradients, etc. It saved at 19.7MB. A few minutes later after making some small changes - saving again it was now 118 MB.
I tried saving to a lower version of Corel and ver 15 it was the same scenario. When saving to 12, 13, & 14 the files were normal, small sizes. But after a few hours even those versions were saving at huge sizes.
I've had a friend check her computer using the same file - she has the exact same computer & on Corel X6. All of her files are nice and small like they are supposed to be.
I've run virus checks and nothing is coming up. I am on Windows 7 64 bit.
Other than recreating all of my files every time I use them - I have no way of saving usable .cdr files.

Aug 28, 2013I am using corel X6 64 on a Dell optiplex 9010 intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3770 @ 3.40GHz 3.40 GHz. 8.00GB of RAM. Its taking about 1-2 minutes to copy/cut/open a file/save a file or even publish to PDF. On the same machine Same circumstances but different User i have no problem. I have to use my user because its connected to my email and at this company i cant change that. I have researched many forums and its not color styles or object styles. It does it on a new file with only one object created. I got a new computer signed on to my user account and the problem persists.

While the images on my screen appear as I want them, and will print true to their colors on my printer, when I convert the files to pdf, jpg or eps formats to send out, the colors lose their vibrancy and appear (and reproduce) washed out. May 6, 2011I am using corel x3 a long time but never, never had this kind of problem. When i work in corel enviorenment after i have finished my work i go to save my work. But then is the problem It Saves the file with Large Memory on it. let's say if the file normally would be 200 K, now it saves with 3 MB. And if i import some other files in my work then the saved file will be even bigger. If i Delete the files that were imported The Saved File will be Again the same SIZE ! Even if a take one part of the file, let's say if i import only one small text and put it in another file and save it like that, the saved file will be 2 MB. I had a lots of problems, i had saved files on this way with 23-24 MB and when i open them it takes like forever. When you look that file in corel it has nohing in it, absolutely nothing that should be 24 MB. But all of my important work is in that files how to make all things back to normal again,

Jun 4, 2006I have photoshop7. I have designed a web page in photo shop. I am trying to send it to someone so that she can place it on her web page. I have for example some font that has, inner glow,bevel&emboss,and color overlay. How do I save it so that it looks the same on my photoshop page as it will on someone elses page. When I save it as a transparent gif it's coming out on her page with the correct colors but instead of having the emboss effect it looks like it's stroked in white. I have tried doing it few ways now but no luck. I'm sure I'm missing a step some where.

Oct 31, 2012I just installed CS6 on a new computer, i7 and plenty of everything. Also has windows 8, yuck. On my previous computer running a different ps but the same Lr version, I had no issues. But saving images is a nightmare. I shoot in raw, so my files are large. From within Lr, to bring a photo in tiff format over to ps, edit, save, it will take minutes PER photo. Yet bringing the same raw image into ps via bridge, it saves fine...still a bit slow, but not even close to the lag. Same issue whether it is psd or tiff.
There is no software on my computer other than cs6 and lr4.2, no antivirus, nothing except the other garbage that comes with win 8. I think that because I can't find anything on this issue, it must be due to win 8 as the OS and it is causing a disconnect between Lr and ps.

When i go to save as and try saving it as GIF, I get a new window saying "Indexed color" and the image's colors go a little crazy...
