Using Lightroom 5.3 with Camera Raw 8.3 on Mac OS X Mavericks 10.9.2
Camera is a Canon EOS 70D, working with Raw files.Just noticed that when applying a range of changes to an image - Tone / Presence / Noise / Crop / Sharpening (and others)When exporting the image
- export to JPG, TIFF and PSD works ok, all changes applied correctly
- export to Raw and DNG do not include changes applied to image - original image is exported
Not a show stopper as I have usable formats, but would like all file formats available for flexibility.

Saving files in graphics formats?
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I select "Save As" or "Export", the list of available file formats is only a fraction of what the help file shows as supported file formats. The help file instructs me to use the instructions in "To modify or repair a CorelDRAW Graphics Suite installation" but this does not work. How can I get or verify that all the file format filters listed in Supported file formats are installed in my CorelDraw 15?
Right now I am particularly interested in saving a CDR in the Visio (VSD) file format, but I would like to have of them available.
I am trying to open up a 16.1MB JPEG2000 file in Photoshop CS2 v9.0.2 and I keep on getting "out of memory" errors. Yet I have the following system:
Windows XP Professional SP2
3.4GHz Pentium 4HT
2.0GB RAM
128MB nVidia go5700
HDD has 44GB free
Windows swap file set to 2GB fixed
144MB static OS RAM usage upon bootup
BigTiles activated (in an attempt to get this to work)
I have tried setting Photoshop to 2 Cache levels and 2 Histories in an attempt to free up maximum space - results are still failures. I have tried turning Photoshop RAM usuage down to 25% all the way up to 75% - results are still failures. I have rebooted numerous times.
This is the first time I have ever seen the "out of memory" error on my system. I have open up, and edit with layers, a 84MB TIFF with a 54MB PSD along with a 30.1MB PSD all simultaneously without any issues whatsoever yet I can't get past a 16.1MB JPEG2000 file all by itself.
I am using PS Elements 11 with raw converter 7.3, processing .DNG files from a Samsung GX-10 on a PC.I notice that, despite sharpening the image in the raw converter, that the preview (F11) in the organizer is not sharp.
However, even more annoying is the fact that the blurriness continues if I export the DNG from the organizer to a new JPEG, even if I set the quality at Maximum (12). The export and preview seem to be ignoring the sharpness I have set in the raw converter. If I open the .DNG in the editor and then save the file as a JPEG straight away, all my sharpening remains intact, and the final JPEG is fine.
I have tried using setting the 'process' in the raw converter to '2010', and also tried setting the JPEG preview size to 'Full Size' in the RAW converter save options. Neither of these seems to make any difference.
For my normal workflow I edit the .DNG files using the raw converter, using the PSE editor only when necessary. I then use the organizer to export the .DNG files to JPEGs for printing, emailing or whatever. This workflow does not give me the results I expect any more.
It looks like I am going to have to open every processed RAW image in the editor and then save the files as JPEGs individually. Also the organizer preview does not give me an accurate preview of the quality of the processed file.
The menu options export and export creations are both disabled / greyed out. I'm trying to save multipule layers to files.
FYI: Windows 7 64 bit, no scanner attached, installed optional twain plugin from C:Program Files (x86)AdobePhotoshop Elements 12optional plug-ins... no change.
Do I really need a scanner to export multiple layers to files? Do I really need to save each layer to a file manually?
how to save my images as .jpg NOT JPEG2000 .jpf files (I'm using CS6 and up until yesterday this wasn't a problem)I have deleted plugin folder as I read in another forum... I still do not get the option to save as jpg. I understand that JPEG2000 gives more information etc but at this stage there are very few places that can view .jpf files. My clients primarily want to use the .jpg files with friends and family on facebook, Flickr and within their blogs so i do need to have the option of saving images as a straight .jpg

View 12 Replies View RelatedA simple action.
File>Export>.bmpClose
If I run the action on one file, it works perfect.
If I try to run it as a batch, it creates the bmp files fine.
But it also creates either a .ai file, or two .eps files!
Writing one or two extra files signifiantly shows the process down.
After I run the batch it is not hard to simply delete the extra .eps/ai files of course.
But writing those files seriously slows the process down, and I have about 89,000 more files to go.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI made this image with duotone(with the color sepia) and w/ a new layer that was filled and then cut out with the magic wand. this created an efect that made the image look "old." and then I added some rippled effects and sharpening and whatnot..
and then I tried to save, and it saved onto PSD. the thing is, PSD is a format specially for photoshop so I can't convert it.
I realized that any image I make with duotone (I dunno if there are any more but there prolly is) will only give you PSD, EPS, RAW, and PDF. none of which could really be used on the web.
Here is a picture of the error I get: [URL]...

wrangle the .aco into an RGB ASCII, either from within PS or from some other application ?

I've been chasing this Layer Export Nirvana for a couple of years now but I've got nowhere. In ImageReady 2 I could import a PSD file and export layers with exactly the name I used for each layer (with no annotations, prefixes or suffixes), with the entire file size (not cropped to the edge of the image) in a PSD format. The script in Photoshop adds extenions to the file name that I can't see how to turn off.
I've tried a couple of free (SciptsRus) and commercial (Ferry) scripts but they don't seem to work with my version of Photoshop (Mac CS5 OS X 10.7.4). Is this a result of the recent Javascript updates with Mac OS X 10.7? I'll contact the authors of these scripts next and see what they say.
I tried a PC program called Super Layer which exports to PNG files and almost was what I wanted except it cropped the file size to the size of the image. I could get away with this I suppose if I copied a 1% single pixel into each corner of the file but that would be time consuming for all the layers I need to export (500-600) and means I'd have to rasterise the type layers which is also double handling.
I've even tried Graphic Converter on a Mac but can't get that to quite work. I end up with solid white backgrounds and no transparency. All I want is to open a PSD file (preferably on Mac OS) and export each layer at the same size on a transparent background with just the name of the layer as the file name as a PSD file. I'll alos accept .PNG format as well as long as I get transparency and full file size. Just like we could do with brilliant effeiciency with ImageReady CS2. I've actually kept an old version of ImageRady on my PC for just this purpose but surely in the 21st Century there is a way around this?\
can we change the formats from psd? my hp printing program that i want to use sometimes won`t recognise psd. format.
also is there any info on what the best format to use is?
i`ve heard that jpeg. is lossy, meaning it losses quality minutely each time you open the file.
I have a Photoshop file (PSD) with 2 layers: a white background and one layer with text.
When I click "save" to save my PSD in another format, the list for available file formats become limited. There is no option for JPG, GIF, TIF, PNG, etc...
I am using Photoshop Elements 10 Version 10 (20110831.m.17215) and everytime I plug in a memory card to upload images it wants to upload every image on the card, even though it has previously uploaded images from that card, even though I have the "Copy New Files Only (Ignore Already Imported Files)" box ticked in the preferences Camera or Card Reader section. This gets very frustrating and time consuming when I have to go through the images every single time to uncheck the images that have already been uploaded.
