View 10 RepliesA simple action.
File>Export>.bmpClose
If I run the action on one file, it works perfect.
If I try to run it as a batch, it creates the bmp files fine.
But it also creates either a .ai file, or two .eps files!
Writing one or two extra files signifiantly shows the process down.
After I run the batch it is not hard to simply delete the extra .eps/ai files of course.
But writing those files seriously slows the process down, and I have about 89,000 more files to go.

When I try to export retouched files to hard drive files my Mac crashes and has to be force quitted. I thought this maybe a L'room 4 problem so I bought L'room 5 and it's still happening. What can I do?

wrangle the .aco into an RGB ASCII, either from within PS or from some other application ?

I've been chasing this Layer Export Nirvana for a couple of years now but I've got nowhere. In ImageReady 2 I could import a PSD file and export layers with exactly the name I used for each layer (with no annotations, prefixes or suffixes), with the entire file size (not cropped to the edge of the image) in a PSD format. The script in Photoshop adds extenions to the file name that I can't see how to turn off.
I've tried a couple of free (SciptsRus) and commercial (Ferry) scripts but they don't seem to work with my version of Photoshop (Mac CS5 OS X 10.7.4). Is this a result of the recent Javascript updates with Mac OS X 10.7? I'll contact the authors of these scripts next and see what they say.
I tried a PC program called Super Layer which exports to PNG files and almost was what I wanted except it cropped the file size to the size of the image. I could get away with this I suppose if I copied a 1% single pixel into each corner of the file but that would be time consuming for all the layers I need to export (500-600) and means I'd have to rasterise the type layers which is also double handling.
I've even tried Graphic Converter on a Mac but can't get that to quite work. I end up with solid white backgrounds and no transparency. All I want is to open a PSD file (preferably on Mac OS) and export each layer at the same size on a transparent background with just the name of the layer as the file name as a PSD file. I'll alos accept .PNG format as well as long as I get transparency and full file size. Just like we could do with brilliant effeiciency with ImageReady CS2. I've actually kept an old version of ImageRady on my PC for just this purpose but surely in the 21st Century there is a way around this?\
I'm working with CS5. I'm trying to export layers of a single PSD file to individual jpeg files, but I want to keep the manipulations I've made on each layer and multiple layers on the exported files themselves instead of each manipulation being exported as its own file. For example if i change the brightness of all my layers and then go to scripts and "export layers to files" the layers do not keep the change in brightness. Instead it keeps the original brightness level and a JPEG file gets created just for the brightness itself (it looks like a blank sheet).

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to use the build in photoshop script [Export Files To Layers]
I have 17 layers with two adjustment layers on top (the adjustment layers are changing the Hue/Saturation and the color balance.
When I use the script, I get 19 layers (jpg's of the adjustment layers as well)
and their settings are completely ignored (the pictures look like what they did with out the adjustment layers) I tried both options for Visible and ICC profile- no change.
I have a .PSD with 43 layers that I want to export to separate files. Works just fine using Scripts > Export to Layers...
...except that there are some transparent areas in each of the layers that I want to have a specific background color (the same for all 43 layers). PS keeps making those areas white.
Setting the background color in the toolbar seems to have no effect.
I have a whole bunch of layers (thumbnails with transpanacy in Bg). I'm using this script to get them in their own files.
Worked great except that each thumbnails is behind a large white BG now that has to be cropped out. any tips on how to get this without the white?
In Bridge tools in CS2, at least with Mac version, there is Export files to a spreadsheet --
Is this gone is CS3?
I'm having an issue with the script "Export Layers to Files."
When running this script, it does something I wasn't expecting...
When it saves each layer to a file, instead of using the size of the layer selection, it saves the layer in the workspace size.
Example: Try to export a 998x60 footer image... it takes the layer and saves it in a workspace size of 1010x1410. So now I've got my footer image inside of a giant white box.
Basically, I was hoping to use this as a mass-export for web design images... but it's not working the way I had hoped. =
Anyone have any solutions?
I am using PS Elements 11 with raw converter 7.3, processing .DNG files from a Samsung GX-10 on a PC.I notice that, despite sharpening the image in the raw converter, that the preview (F11) in the organizer is not sharp.
However, even more annoying is the fact that the blurriness continues if I export the DNG from the organizer to a new JPEG, even if I set the quality at Maximum (12). The export and preview seem to be ignoring the sharpness I have set in the raw converter. If I open the .DNG in the editor and then save the file as a JPEG straight away, all my sharpening remains intact, and the final JPEG is fine.
I have tried using setting the 'process' in the raw converter to '2010', and also tried setting the JPEG preview size to 'Full Size' in the RAW converter save options. Neither of these seems to make any difference.
For my normal workflow I edit the .DNG files using the raw converter, using the PSE editor only when necessary. I then use the organizer to export the .DNG files to JPEGs for printing, emailing or whatever. This workflow does not give me the results I expect any more.
It looks like I am going to have to open every processed RAW image in the editor and then save the files as JPEGs individually. Also the organizer preview does not give me an accurate preview of the quality of the processed file.
The menu options export and export creations are both disabled / greyed out. I'm trying to save multipule layers to files.
FYI: Windows 7 64 bit, no scanner attached, installed optional twain plugin from C:Program Files (x86)AdobePhotoshop Elements 12optional plug-ins... no change.
Do I really need a scanner to export multiple layers to files? Do I really need to save each layer to a file manually?
Is there away to "one-click" export an image to a set of .png files with different resolutions? (I need this for a set of iOS app icons).
For example: Export a file MyAppIcon.psd into the following:
MyAppIcon_29x29.png
MyAppIcon_57x57.png
MyAppIcon_114x114.png
MyAppIcon_512x512.png
MyAppIcon_48x48.png
MyAppIcon_72x72.png
I almost succeeded in doing this with Photoshop Actions, but can't figure out how to make the file names include the original image file name. In other words, file NewApp.psd should export to NewApp_29x29.png, not MyAppIcon_29x29.png.
I have a file with 181 layers and need to export 180 individual layers with 1 other layer switched on (so 2 layers on in each export). how to do this with an action or script?

Being an architectural photographer I create a lot of layered files with many exposures with different lights on and daylight separately. I always save my layered files in a folder called Layered files in the project. I also save flattened 8 bit Tif's at full resolution for my client as a print file in a separate folder along with another folder for web and device optimized files. When my client opens some of my flattened files they tell me the only see one layer. When I open some of them in Preview I get the same result. I only see the last layer I put into my layered file. But when I open the same photo in Bridge I see the full flattened file as I saved it. What can I do about that?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have used Photoshop for several years, but I didn't take the time to lean allot of what it can do.I'm going through Lynda.com videos now and starting to get a little better understanding.
I bought some vector eps files from Shutterstock. Most of these vectors are a bunch of smaller image elements.(For Instance Icons)What I would like to do is to find a way to batch crop all of the layers out of the eps and into png files.Of course they would need slightly different names.
I have seen where you can do something similar, but the smaller images are on a full size transparent background. I would prefer that they are auto cropped.I have the full CS6 Through Adobe Creative Cloud. So I can use illustrator for part of this if needed.
Okay I am trying to make a homemade flip book in Photoshop CS5 and am trying to save the frames. I imported a video and converted it into individual layers for every frame.
Now I'm trying to save it by going to 'File > Scripts > Export Layer to Files' and there is no options in my Scripts tab at all.
When I go to 'File > Scripts' all that's in there is just 'Browse'.
Then when I click on 'Browse' it just takes me to the folder where I opened the PS file. How I can get the default scripts back? I don't even have any scripts to export layer comps, which is something I do frequently.
can you export layers with the layer names to separate jpeg files?

we use CorelDraw X5 to make cartographies on building plans with several layers of - mostly - polylines drawings (one layer = one building material type or one weathering form type) and we must give them back to architects who use AutoCAD.
We already tried several times to export the .cdr to .dxf or .dwg files, but till now, the architect seems to be able to open the files, but our cartographie is quite illegible: only some parts of the layers are visible and it seems that some layers are not visible at all...
I was asked to make a big banner 525cm x 250cm. After completing it in few minutes I tried publishing it to pdf but i constantly get an empty white pdf file. After few tests i figured out that I can correctly publish any file that is smaller than 500cm but anything above gives me an empty pdf.
Have you faced any similar problems?
