I have a file with 181 layers and need to export 180 individual layers with 1 other layer switched on (so 2 layers on in each export). how to do this with an action or script?

I have now exactly the same problem as below with over 1000 images, I have saved them in .psd that has over 100 layers each. On top of those there is curves and levels layer that affects every layer below. I want to save all images to .jpg for videoedit with those curves at least. I don't want to merge same curves 100 times. Is there a solution in phothoshop cs5 or cs6 available? Would save alot of working hours. All I have got by this far is blank white images of adjustment layers and non adjusted jpg-files.

And say I created 3 adjustment layers on top of those 100 layers to get the adjustments that i want for those layers.  I'm happy with the adjustments but Then I NEED to merge those 3 adjustment layers to ALL those 100 layers. Â
Is there a way to easily permanently apply the adjustments to each of those layers without having to do it manually? I absolutely need to merge the adjustments to the seperate layers because of how the layers are being used in a seperate 3d program.  Â

So far what I've been doing is duplicating the adjustment layers for each layer and merging them to said layers separately.. I wish I could just right click the adjustment layer and Tell it to merge to everylayer it affects or apply to every layer underneath it!
I do not have the option to 'export layers to files' on my menu. I used the bridge to import files as layers. What 'comps' are but that seems to be my issue.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been chasing this Layer Export Nirvana for a couple of years now but I've got nowhere.In ImageReady 2 I could import a PSD file and export layers with exactly the name I used for each layer (with no annotations, prefixes or suffixes), with the entire file size (not cropped to the edge of the image) in a PSD format.The script in Photoshop adds extenions to the file name that I can't see how to turn off.

I've tried a couple of free (SciptsRus) and commercial (Ferry) scripts but they don't seem to work with my version of Photoshop (Mac CS5 OS X 10.7.4). Is this a result of the recent Javascript updates with Mac OS X 10.7? I'll contact the authors of these scripts next and see what they say.

I tried a PC program called Super Layer which exports to PNG files and almost was what I wanted except it cropped the file size to the size of the image. I could get away with this I suppose if I copied a 1% single pixel into each corner of the file but that would be time consuming for all the layers I need to export (500-600) and means I'd have to rasterise the type layers which is also double handling.

I've even tried Graphic Converter on a Mac but can't get that to quite work. I end up with solid white backgrounds and no transparency.All I want is to open a PSD file (preferably on Mac OS) and export each layer at the same size on a transparent background with just the name of the layer as the file name as a PSD file. I'll alos accept .PNG format as well as long as I get transparency and full file size. Just like we could do with brilliant effeiciency with ImageReady CS2. I've actually kept an old version of ImageRady on my PC for just this purpose but surely in the 21st Century there is a way around this?\
I created an Action to batch export a folder of .ai files to create 300dpi .png's of the .ai file's artboard. I did this by simply recording "Export...as png" with my desired settings then Batch running the Action on desired folder of .ai files. The files were successfully exported, the trouble is that the exported files lack a .png file extension. My intent is to take these PNG files and merge them into a single PDF using Acrobat Pro. Unfortunatly, without the .PNG extension, Acrobat Pro does not recognize the file types and does not let me use the Combine Files feature on them. Going back and manually adding a .png at the end of the exported files defeats the time-saving purpose of Batch Processing all together. Is there something I am missing or doing incorrectly? I have included screenshots of 1) My Batch Action settings 2) folders showing files without .png extension and 3) visual of what I see when I am trying to combine PNGs into a PDF.

I'm trying to export layers of a single PSD file to individual jpeg files, but I want to keep the manipulations I've made on each layer and multiple layers on the exported files themselves instead of each manipulation being exported as its own file. For example if i change the brightness of all my layers and then go to scripts and "export layers to files" the layers do not keep the change in brightness. Instead it keeps the original brightness level and a JPEG file gets created just for the brightness itself (it looks like a blank sheet).

I have 17 layers with two adjustment layers on top (the adjustment layers are changing the Hue/Saturation and the color balance.
When I use the script, I get 19 layers (jpg's of the adjustment layers as well)
and their settings are completely ignored (the pictures look like what they did with out the adjustment layers) I tried both options for Visible and ICC profile- no change.
I have a .PSD with 43 layers that I want to export to separate files. Works just fine using Scripts > Export to Layers...
...except that there are some transparent areas in each of the layers that I want to have a specific background color (the same for all 43 layers). PS keeps making those areas white.
Setting the background color in the toolbar seems to have no effect.
I have a whole bunch of layers (thumbnails with transpanacy in Bg). I'm using this script to get them in their own files.
Worked great except that each thumbnails is behind a large white BG now that has to be cropped out. any tips on how to get this without the white?
I'm having an issue with the script "Export Layers to Files."
When running this script, it does something I wasn't expecting...
When it saves each layer to a file, instead of using the size of the layer selection, it saves the layer in the workspace size.
Example: Try to export a 998x60 footer image... it takes the layer and saves it in a workspace size of 1010x1410. So now I've got my footer image inside of a giant white box.
Basically, I was hoping to use this as a mass-export for web design images... but it's not working the way I had hoped. =
Anyone have any solutions?
The menu options export and export creations are both disabled / greyed out. I'm trying to save multipule layers to files.
FYI: Windows 7 64 bit, no scanner attached, installed optional twain plugin from C:Program Files (x86)AdobePhotoshop Elements 12optional plug-ins... no change.

I have a layered .ai file with 40 layers of logo versions that I need to export to separate files and I'd like to avoid the obvious "save as" and delete layers route.
I have to deal with multiple layer documents for producing underwater mosaics. Very often, the images vary in colors a bit. For large mosaics, I run the images thru a batch job before I use them. For smaller mosaics (e.g. just 10 to 20 images), this is a bit of overkill, in case I have to tweak just 5 or 10 or so.

In this case, I prefer picking one of the 20 layers as my "reference" and manually match the colors of those layers, that need the match, one by one.

My question now: Is there a way, that I could select, lets say 10 layers that need the match and apply the Match Color to all of them in one go?
I want to add the same 3 adjustment layers to about 20 photos and then in scripts, export layers to files, so that each photo includes the adjustments.

How does one create an action that not only opens the mark-up layers PSD, but also places it's contents in an open PSD, positioned down in the bottom-right corner of the open target PSD?

The action won't know what the dimensions of the target PSD they are. The working PSD's I need the mark-up layers in is random.

I can do it where an action places another PSD's contents in a target PSD in one click, but all the layers are embedded as a Smart Object. I don't believe there's a way to "un-embed" the layers in a Smart Object.
Does anyone know how to create an action that will open a second document, select all of the layers (or layers within a group) and move/drag them back into my working document?

If an image is opened from ACR normally, the base layer will be named "Background". If an image is opened as a Smart Object, the base layer will be named as the filename of the image.

If an action is programmed that creates new layers on top of the Smart Object then selects the base layer, the step in the action will be 'Select _MG_ 1234' or whatever the name of the image file is. If you try to run that action on a different image file, an error message will pop up at the step where the base layer is selected indicating that the file is not available because the action is pointing to a specific image file name.Â

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have recorded a set of actions that I am automating for a few images. At the end I recorded the export and close steps (I records Save For Web - PNG 24 settings). The issue is that the script overrides each image once it's saved. How can I run the image editing part of the script, and then insure that each file is being exported seperatly with a different name? Should I have not recorded the export part of the script?

Unless I'm missing something, it appears that no trivial solution exisits. For example, there's no option that allows for selecting the adjustment layers, right clicking them, and choosing 'convert to action.' What I want to avoid is having to redo each adjustment layer just for the sake of recording an action.

Also, I understand that I can always "place" (i.e. drag and drop) the image requiring processing into the Photoshop document containing the adjustment layers, saving a merged copy as jpeg, and repeat... but such a manual method would border on insulting to this prowess of a program.

Having problems converting about 2000 EPS files to JPGs.
First off when setting up an action to import, colour correct and save as a JPG, it keeps asking for the size and dpi - no matter how I save it, it always wants to import as 72 dpi when I need 600dpi. Is there any way around this so that it remembers that it is 600dpi that I need to save it as?
Also when using the action it keeps asking for the dpi/size - if I was to use the "Override Open" command it loses its shape and imports as RGB which I dont need as it *has* to be CYMK.
Is there any work around for this?
I have a 3d scene (FBX) with a 3d camera, rendered 3d elements and filmed elements that need to be comped in a way that required some layers to respond to the 3d camera and some need to stay 2d. Because some of the 2d layers need to occlude layers in 3d space it is not practical to pre comp.
Is there way in Action to get a a layer to ignore a 3d camera or respond to a different camera? In AE for example you would toggle the 3d layer setting.
Also is there a way to make a layer auto orientate towards the camera?
I like being able to loop the animation in Edge so it will play continually. But coordinating an edge animation with a number of different layers for each object makes me want to be able to loop each layer.  Right now it seems you can only insert an action trigger in the general timeline. Is it possible to insert action triggers to individual layers?

I have set up layers for each color, and layers for each texture. Right now it cycles through them in a regular pattern. But I'd like to set individual loops for each color and texture layer so that the animation varies a little.
I have two different files that contain data at greatly different scales. I'd like to render out each sequence and composite seamlessly. Is there any easy way to match the movement of two cameras in files that contain data of vastly different scales? I'd rather not merge data. I'd like to animate the camera in one file, merge the camera into the other file and scale the movement up.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI created my own set of actions in PS CS5. When i open a folder of JPGs and want them to get changed by that set automatically everything works but the saving the file.
I tried safe&close and renaming the files and safing them in another folder but they don´t get saved. all that pops up is a window asking me where i want to safe the copy-file of that JPG . If I do so it saves the file with the changes from the set. but it stops everytime.
When I record a save for web action that exports my artboard in 3 file sizes. 100%, 200% and 400% it works for the first few files.
Then suddenly after a while the first export changes its width and height from 100% to 111%, but not just 111% width and height equally. No it pulls it out of proportion too.

When I manually enter 100% again it all pops back to the correct aspect ration.The 200% and 400% still behave as expected.

If I rerecord it it starts working again. But that defeats the purpose.
