Photoshop :: ImageReady - Animation, How To Save As .gif?
Aug 21, 2005I've opened up a file to which i produced the other night. Through scaling down a jpeg image to a suitable size to be used as an avatar on a website, i've made 51 frames. Now before i used to save any animations via 'Save Optimized As...' then select the .gif option. The problem is, when i now go to save my file as an animation, it does not give me the option to save as .gif . The choices i have are something like .jpg / .htm or both. Also, before the save file dialog box pops up i have a message stating something along the lines of 'jpegs etc etc are not compatible with animations' or something? I've never seen this message before and have also created animated .gif files from a jpeg file in the past...

Dec 11, 2012I'm having a problem throught CS6 with the Open, Save, or Save As dialog boxes not opening for a period of time after clicking on the desired functions. It can take over a minute just to get the Open dialog box up to browse for a file. Eventually, the dialog boxes open, but during the time that it's trying to open, the program is unresponsive. It is happening with all of my CS6 programs. I have unistalled and reinstalled with no fix. The programs are updated.

Jun 27, 2013I have the student version of AutoCAD 2012 on an HP laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium OS. I originally installed AutoCAD in June of 2012. It worked fine for 9 or 10 months but now whenever I select File/Open, File/Save, or File/Save As, AutoCAD stops responding and the spinning blue donut appears. AutoCAD never comes back and I have to close it from Task Manager. I uninstalled AutoCAD and reinstalled it, and the process went smoothly. However I still have exactly the same problem with the File operations. I apply Windows updates, but other than that have not made any changes to the software on the laptop. AutoCAD works fine for everything except the File operations. I am able to save with CTL/S and am able to open AutoCAD files from File Manager.

- Windows 7 Enterprise 32 bit
- ACAD2011 with 1.1
- Nvidia GeForce 8400 GS (not a supported graphic card from what I know)
- Intel i5-750
Since we got that out of the way let's get to it.
A week ago I was told that a lot of times the PC's freeze when you try to "Save", "Save as" or "Open" a file (we open/save on a network drive). If that happens we have to restart the PC and hope it doesn't happen again, but since this happens quite a lot (over the course of four days about 27 times on 7 PC's) I tried to fix this.
I installed the patch, updated the drivers for the graphic card and reinstalled NET Framework 4. The problem didn't occur as often but it still happened sometimes.

Nov 22, 2013Within CS6 on my MacMini (OS X 10.9 Mavericks), sometimes it will not 'Open', Save, 'or 'Save As'. The window opens, then closes before I am able to do anything! To Open a file I have to drag it into CS6 icon, but 'Save As' is a problem.

Jun 7, 2012I recently installed a student version of Maya 2012 on my home computer so I didn’t have to work from college for a project, but I have run into some issues.
Not sure what is going on with my Maya but it won't open files unless I actually go to it in the browser and double click on the file. Even once I have done that I can only save over it, save as doesn't work. I also can't create or set projects. There are probably more problems but these are the ones I noticed/really need.
This is what appears in my output window:

Because when I do save with the .PSD file, it saves without have to chose name, etc., will that be possible on the .JPG files? Dec 29, 2012I've seen a lot of posts on this subject, so rather than replying to a specific one that may be on a different trail, I decided to open a new discussion. Lately I've had a lot of problems saving a file while in photoshop cs6 and getting this error. Sure, I can do a save as then delete the former file, but that doesn't solve the problem.
Since it happens so often, I want the solution. Since the only application I have running when I get this error is Bridge, I closed Bridge when I got this error, and then I could save the file. In some of the discussion threads on this problem, I did see some reference to previews.
I suspect this has to do with Bridge building previews or extracting previews or something related behind the scenes. I will keep monitoring this situation to see if closing Bridge always takes care of this problem. However, I never had this problem before, if some of the latest updates created a new problem. Jun 7, 2012Since yesterday I have the problem, that I can't open/save pictures as PNG any more, the option is completely gone.When I try to open one, it says "not the right kind of document".
I don't know what I've done, I just wanted to install filters and I've put them in the Plug-ins/Filters folder.But they didn't work so I've put them out again.I already deleted my preferences and I am desperate, I don't know what to do anymore.

whilst getting this issue get other problems like this, where i cant type in some windows, such as: new document window [URL]...
and some more.i dont think the save box is popping up off screen, im on 1 monitor. i cant find it anyways. i dont want to force closure of photoshop when i have unsaved work.
also, if save to web or try to liquify or something during this time i get this {URL]...
i can do other stuff like brush, smudge, etc but cant save and stuff this is the second time its ever happened.
Photoshop :: CC Won't Open Or Save PNG Files
Oct 8, 2013So, Photoshop CC was working perfectly for me, up until about 3 or 4 weeks ago, when it randomly stopped letting me open up PNG files. I've been converting them in CS6 as a workaround (CS6 still functions properly), but it's getting pretty annoying...
I've also noticed that PS CC will only let me save in something like 12 or 13 different file formats; CS6 gives me close to double the file format options. CC is missing BMP, IFF, JPEG 2000, PCS, TARGA, and several other formats (not that I work with most of those, mind you, but it is a little strange that they've all just vanished...).
What's the scoop? why it would have just randomly stopped working? Maybe broken by a CC update...?
I'm running both CC and CS6 on OSX 10.7.5. CS6 has the Magic Bullet Photolooks 3rd party plugin installed, but CC doesn't have any 3rd party plugins.

May 10, 2013I started a project in CS5, saved it, left it open, then opened the same file in CS6. Then I started steadily working on the file in CS6 for about 20 minutes. I saved frequently while working in CS6. Then Photoshop crashed, I believe because I had several smart objects open at once. However, when I checked the file I had been saving, it was still in an identical state to when I stopped working on it in CS5. Not only that, but the "recovered file" was about 10 minutes behind in CS6.

Feb 23, 2013I have CS6 installed on a Mac Pro desktop, 3.3 Ghz machine, 6 Gb RAM, running OS X Mountain Lion. Everything is running fine, updated and it's a great machine. But I've noticed that opening Photoshop files that are somewhat large and layered take WAY too long to open or "save." I mean...3 minutes is much too long to wait.
I have a spare physical drive configured (in preferences) for extra RAM, with plenty of empty drive space. The startup drive has well over 250 Gb of space remaining.
The only applications running are Photoshop and Bridge. There is 6 Gb of RAM to run these applications and open files. OpenGL is checked in Preferences and I'm running an nVidia graphics card, as well.

Jun 30, 2012Recently my photoshop CS5 has been playing up and often when I try to save files it will freeze at the point of clicking ok and crash. Today also it crashed when I tried to open a photoshop file.This is incredibly frustrating as I'm a graphic designer and trying to complete some urgent work but I'm getting nowhere because nothing I'm doing is saving and I have to keep starting over. It's literally crashed about 40 times the past day and I'm wasting so many hours that I just don't have.
My version as mentioned is CS5 and I updated it yesterday with no avail.

I don't think I've done anything for this to start happening it just came out of nowhere..I usually only do the same few things with the program and also havn't altered files or even the computer.

Aug 24, 2013Photoshop is unusable for me. I was running CS6 but it kept freezing when I tried to open a file. I uninstalled and installed CC -- same problem. I checked the preferences to see if there was a setting for an Adobe file dialog and it froze again.
I suspect it has something to do with Mountain Lion 10.8.4 but I don't have this problem in other Adobe apps. Ran Disk Utility, verified permissions, verified disk -- everything checks out. Not sure what to do.

One time my computer's OS crashed, and it's an emergency to finish my work within the morning, so I took my harddisk and went outside to look for public computers.
Since my file is copyrighted and private, I was afraid that my PS files we're copied over the network and viewed after I left the computer shop.
Is there any options or plugins that we can use, to set and open the PS file in the photoshop program with password protection [or encryption]?
So we can, atleast, have confidence when bringing these files anywhere...

Jul 17, 2008When I open an image in Photoshop CS3, an open box appears and I have selected my image, but when I click the Open button, an error message comes out that says "could not continue with the open command because two or more files were selected for opening at once". So I clicked the OK button and then I could not click all buttons even Close button. I still have to press CTRL+ALT+DEL to close or I have to restart the whole PC.
