Photoshop :: 14.1.2 Asks To Save Files Twice (save As)
Nov 6, 2013I'm running Photoshop CC 14.1.2 on Mac (OSX 10.8.5) and whenever I use "Save As…" Photoshop marks the original file as edited and asks me to save it again before I close it - even if I have not made any changes before or after using "Save as…". This behavior is breaking some of my actions and bothering me quite a bit.

1. Use the Save As command to save a file (it doesn't matter what file format I use)
2. Use the Close command to close the file

It is at this point that I get a prompt to save the file before closing, even though I just did the Save As and haven't made any changes. One thing I noticed was that after using the Save As command, the the icon at the top of the photo window is solid for a split second, then becomes grayed out and an asterisk appears to the right of the text at the top of the window. So it's like some change is being made in the background that I can't control.

I still have Photoshop CS6 on my computer. I don't have this problem in CS6 and I haven't been able to replicate this problem there. I checked the File Handling section in Preferences, and all my options are the same in CS6 and CC.

Aug 14, 2011I need to work in tiff, but everytime I hit save, gimp tells me I need to export.
can this be turned off somehow? it's a real rock in the shoe while working.
Illustrator :: CC Won't Open And Asks For Verdana Font To Be Enabled

I've checked the font and it's enabled but Illustrator refuses to open. I uninstalled CC and reinstalled it, but still no joy.

I'm running the latest version of Suitcase Fusion 5 and Verdana is enabled. CS6 seems to work, but my CC files are not opening in an editable form on CS6.
Mac running latest OS.

Dec 11, 2012I'm having a problem throught CS6 with the Open, Save, or Save As dialog boxes not opening for a period of time after clicking on the desired functions. It can take over a minute just to get the Open dialog box up to browse for a file. Eventually, the dialog boxes open, but during the time that it's trying to open, the program is unresponsive. It is happening with all of my CS6 programs. I have unistalled and reinstalled with no fix. The programs are updated.Â

May 2, 2009I recently had to replace my computer. So I went with a 64 bit machine with Vista 64bit. My reinstall of CS2 went well (upgrading to a 64 bit version will have to wait but not too long I hope:-). Activation was OK; registration said it succeeded as well. But every time I start Photoshop it says I have not registered it and it asks me to do it again. I have tried to complete the form three times now and it always says it succeeded. Then the next time I start I bet the registration dialog box again. What can I do to satisfy CS2?

Jun 27, 2013I have the student version of AutoCAD 2012 on an HP laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium OS.  I originally installed AutoCAD in June of 2012. It worked fine for 9 or 10 months but now whenever I select File/Open, File/Save, or File/Save As, AutoCAD stops responding and the spinning blue donut appears. AutoCAD never comes back and I have to close it from Task Manager. I uninstalled AutoCAD and reinstalled it, and the process went smoothly. However I still have exactly the same problem with the File operations. I apply Windows updates, but other than that have not made any changes to the software on the laptop. AutoCAD works fine for everything except the File operations. I am able to save with CTL/S and am able to open AutoCAD files from File Manager.Â

Oct 6, 2010First of all  a little bit about the hardware/software:
- Windows 7 Enterprise 32 bit
- ACAD2011 with 1.1
- Nvidia GeForce 8400 GS (not a supported graphic card from what I know)
- Intel i5-750
Since we got that out of the way let's get to it.
A week ago I was told that a lot of times the PC's freeze when you try to "Save", "Save as" or "Open" a file (we open/save on a network drive). If that happens we have to restart the PC and hope it doesn't happen again, but since this happens quite a lot (over the course of four days about 27 times on 7 PC's) I tried to fix this.
I installed the patch, updated the drivers for the graphic card and reinstalled NET Framework 4. The problem didn't occur as often but it still happened sometimes.

Nov 22, 2013Within CS6 on my MacMini (OS X 10.9 Mavericks), sometimes it will not 'Open', Save, 'or 'Save As'. The window opens, then closes before I am able to do anything! To Open a file I have to drag it into CS6 icon, but 'Save As' is a problem.

Jun 7, 2012I recently installed a student version of Maya 2012 on my home computer so I didn’t have to work from college for a project, but I have run into some issues.
Not sure what is going on with my Maya but it won't open files unless I actually go to it in the browser and double click on the file. Even once I have done that I can only save over it, save as doesn't work. I also can't create or set projects. There are probably more problems but these are the ones I noticed/really need.
This is what appears in my output window:

Dec 29, 2012I've seen a lot of posts on this subject, so rather than replying to a specific one that may be on a different trail, I decided to open a new discussion. Lately I've had a lot of problems saving a file while in photoshop cs6 and getting this error. Sure, I can do a save as then delete the former file, but that doesn't solve the problem.Â
Since it happens so often, I want the solution. Since the only application I have running when I get this error is Bridge, I closed Bridge when I got this error, and then I could save the file. In some of the discussion threads on this problem, I did see some reference to previews.Â
I suspect this has to do with Bridge building previews or extracting previews or something related behind the scenes. I will keep monitoring this situation to see if closing Bridge always takes care of this problem. However, I never had this problem before, if some of the latest updates created a new problem. whilst getting this issue get other problems like this, where i cant type in some windows, such as: new document window [URL]...
and some more.i dont think the save box is popping up off screen, im on 1 monitor. i cant find it anyways. i dont want to force closure of photoshop when i have unsaved work.
also, if save to web or try to liquify or something during this time i get this {URL]...
i can do other stuff like brush, smudge, etc but cant save and stuff this is the second time its ever happened.

Oct 8, 2013So, Photoshop CC was working perfectly for me, up until about 3 or 4 weeks ago, when it randomly stopped letting me open up PNG files. I've been converting them in CS6 as a workaround (CS6 still functions properly), but it's getting pretty annoying...
I've also noticed that PS CC will only let me save in something like 12 or 13 different file formats; CS6 gives me close to double the file format options. CC is missing BMP, IFF, JPEG 2000, PCS, TARGA, and several other formats (not that I work with most of those, mind you, but it is a little strange that they've all just vanished...).

What's the scoop? why it would have just randomly stopped working? Maybe broken by a CC update...?

I'm running both CC and CS6 on OSX 10.7.5. CS6 has the Magic Bullet Photolooks 3rd party plugin installed, but CC doesn't have any 3rd party plugins.

May 10, 2013I started a project in CS5, saved it, left it open, then opened the same file in CS6. Then I started steadily working on the file in CS6 for about 20 minutes. I saved frequently while working in CS6. Then Photoshop crashed, I believe because I had several smart objects open at once. However, when I checked the file I had been saving, it was still in an identical state to when I stopped working on it in CS5. Not only that, but the "recovered file" was about 10 minutes behind in CS6.
