I edit my raw files in CS5. Then I saw as JPEG, and upload to be developed. Once the pictures are uploaded they look like I never edited them at all. What am I doing wrong. This does not happen if I edit a JPEG file.
View 1 RepliesI have one hard disk filling up with photos, so I have purchased a secondary hard disk to expand my storage. I would like to move my shoots from 2010 to that new hard disk, but I don't want to loose all of the edits saved on them in LR3. I have experimented with moving non-important images that have edits on them, then re-importing them. Unfortunately, LR3 does not preserve that history.

I am currently moving files aboout on three different drives and have found that I have to constantly go back manually and search out files to re-establish connections. THis gets to be quite time-consuming as I have over 10,000 pics on these three drives. What am I doing wrong> What is actually happening to these files when I organize them? I am constantly re-filing these pics for different purposes and I thought I could get around this with Elements.

In the DWG of my AutoCAD Civil 3D 2013 project, I just created a parcel manually - see the first attched file. It had "Property : 1" on the original DWG, when I created.
I selected this parcel => Properties tab =>Information =>Style:Create/Edit=>Parcel Styleroperty=>Design=>Parcel name template=> Name Template/ Name: <[Parcel Style Name (CP)]>:<[Parcel Number]> was changed to SHC Lot: <[Parcel Number]> to get the new parcel name "SHC Lot : 1" on the DWG successfully - see the second attached file.
I tried to add some chemical results (23.5 mg/kg Arsenic; 66.7 mg/kg Lead; 88.9 mg/kg Mercury) into the parcel. So I selected this parcel => Properties tab => Information => Parcel Area Label Style: Create/Edit =>Parcel Name: => Layout / Label Style Composer/Component name: Parcel Name =>Text: Contents <[Name(CP)]>
I clicked on the "Arrow" sign to bring the <[Description]> into the right-hand-side of Text Component Editor - Contents. I don't know how to finish this step and how to close the "Properties of Parcel" tab on the left-hand-side of the DWG (The selection of Parcel is still on). How to finish the last step and how to close the "Properties of Parcel" tab.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have backed up my files on my external hard drive, and then to make space I deleted some of them from my hard drive. Although I added the external files back into Lightroom (ver. 3) none of my Lightroom settings have remained, so all collection information and all development settings have gone. It there any way to get this information back? I have religiously done Lightroom backups but am afraid that if I use one of these back ups I will lose some of my more recent settings, work that I have done since I deleted the files from my hard drive. I am hoping there is some simple way of relinking to retrieve this information. I tried to use 'find missing photos' but couldn't get that to work.

I can insert the poles via long/lat and all is great, my issue is I would like more information in those points.
For example, pole number, class, HOA, Make Ready. Currently I create a survey data store and import ASCII Points using PNE(comma delimited)
So with my Excel file (this is where I get my pole information from) I get a point/northing/easting to enter into the formatting section.
I would like to add more information to these individual points, like ploe number, class, HOA...
If I view the point table I see that there are a lot of other columns, can I use them or customize them? is there a quick tutorial on this issue?
I have 2 .IGS files (which I also have saved as SLDPRT files) that were drawn for me. I can open .IGS files in my copy Free CAD and the SLDPRT files in an eDrawings viewer.
I have sent the .IGS files to a CNC routing company as I want the shapes to be machined / CNC'd out of wood. However the company is saying the curvers are coming out faceted and asking for 2D DXF files.
Is it possible to convert an IGS file to a DXF files so all the dimension information is maintained?
I want to wash my .jpg files through LR 5 in order to display the filenames. Via the Slideshow module I have been able to select and direct the displaying of the desired metadata option. When I export the files the displayed metadata information does not make the trip.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI use Sheet Set Manager to create and output sheets. Typically I will setup the pages to 24x36 and set to output to our HP.
If I want to output to 11x17 pdf, I use a page setup override and it works fine.
What I would like to be able to do is add a watermark -- using transparent text -- that says "Not to Scale" across the print when I use the page setup override.
When I create a shape I use the Shape from the drop down, create my shape and then using Layer Styles I create the look I want on the shape within CS6. When I have sent my file to another person who is using CS5 they cannot see my layer styles and they are lost... What is happening and how can I get them to see my layer styles?
At the moment for them to see it I am having to recreate all my shapes so they are Pixel rather than shapes? why this is happening? I have never had this problem before and I have used Photoshop for years!
I've purchased a template pre-made and I'm editing the graphics. They come with supposedly editable .psd's
When I open it up it's the entire template of graphics. No individuals. They're advice is to select a certain layer and save for the web as the file I need after editing. Well, when doing this it saves the entire template, not just the file I need.
An interesting abnormally with Bridge 5.0.2.4 X64
Bridge is loosing images with keywords. After purging the cache and running a search all images return. However, this does not retain the images. I have seen the images disappear while watching the screen. Subsequent searches only retains a few of the hundreds of images with the keyword.
I have also removed and re-installed Bridge to no avail. I also believe I have the latest updates?
I have opengl acceleration turned on and it usually works. Problem is that sometimes a document looses it's acceleration. I'm not sure when this happens, if it is when i switch between documents or when i switch between photoshop and other applications. I can rotate my picture, but at some point when I want to rotate, I just get message that says something like document has not acceleration turned on. Other documents may be alright.
Is there some control where I can turn back on the acceleration for a specific document when it has lost it? Is there some registry hack that would disable this loosing of acceleration of some documents (except the known hack which will force the acceleration on old gpu's).
I am doing the artwork for an album I am working on and need some help resizing the cover image. As of right now the image is around 3000x3000 resolution, but it needs to fit on a 5.5"x5.0" template. I copied the image from photoshop into illustrator and used free transform to scale it to the correct size. However, the image was pixelated and unusable. So I basically want to know the best way to do it without losing quality. Also, should I add the text before or after its been resized?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI created my layout with Photoshop CS. I brought the file in Image Ready to slice it but my bright mustard/gold yellow wasn't the same anymore. It was more of a greenish yellow. I tried to bring it back in Photoshop and the colours were perfect again. When I did Save for Web, same thing happened to my colours. I never had any problems before with other layout. Any idea what I am doing wrong?

the 3200 dpi images are being stored on my hard drive and then will be archived on DVD.
how do i make small files without going and editing each one?
I want to resize an image without loosing picture quality but I'm not making it larger - I'm making it smaller. For example, there are small stars in the background which seem get deleted when I resize it.
But here's the thing - After resizing it (but before "confirming" my changes), it looks perfect. Then I hit enter and then it deletes certain details. Basically I can look at the image at the size and quality I want in PS but I can't save it that way. And it's not a matter of saving it with a higher quality level, it happens as soon as I resize. WTF?
I was told that if you resample by using exact multiples of the original file percentage size such as 100% to 50%, or 100% to 200% that image quality isn't compromised as much.

View 5 Replies View RelatedThis problem only occurs with files that I have been imported from cd's/dvd's into the libraryand I get the msg "Lightroom was unable to prepare the selected file for editing. It will not be opened." Files that are stored on my hard drive have NO PROBLEM in being edited. .
I am new to Lightroom and currently using it on the 30 day trial I have been using PSE for a long time and have over 90,000 images in Organizer and all of my images are on cd's/dvd's, very few are stored on the hard drive.
I have a bunch of random files named *MVM_*.tmp randomly split between my second internal drive and a portable drive (or more if another external drive is connected) when editing or opening a .GIF file in PS CS5.
These files make it impossible to remove the portable drive without first saving my work and closing PS (once I had to reboot in order to remove the drive). Also, often as not, some of the files remain on the portable drive.
No 3rd party plugins, just vanilla PS. I saw another thread but that was about PNG files (this happens too), not GIFs.
Also happens when Liquify tool is used.
Editing jpeg files with Photoshop Elements 10 corrupts the files so they cannot be viewed on a TV, how do I rectify this - the software as it stands is completely useless as I want to present slideshows to a number of people simultaneously via the TV. On initial use this didn't happen but it does now even after we reinstalled the programme.

This only became an issue in the last version and I would have thought it would have been fixed in this one.
