Photoshop :: Puppet Pins Don't Rotate?
Nov 29, 2013I have multiple shapes on a solo layer, each shape has a puppet pin, when I rotate the pin, the numeric values change but the object doesn't physically even with the short-cut (ALT)

View 1 RepliesAfter adding a puppet warp mask over my layer I click to start adding pins and it automatically zooms in 100% around the first pin and changes the current layer I'm on to a 100% crop of what is around the pin. If I zoom out it just zooms out of my current cropped image. I cant pan or move around and if I apply the puppet warp it apply it to that small section that it just zoomed into. Very odd and I can't seem to find a work around. I've used puppet warp several times in CS5 and a few times in cs6 but this just started happening. 13.0.1 x64 Windows 8.
View 2 Replies View RelatedNo pin presents on an image when I open Blur/Field. The cursor displays a pin but when clicked on the image no pin is visually placed.Â
Blur does occur when a pin is placed but no on image blur ring control presents. Also, when the image opens in Blur (with Field Blur checked) the Blur slider sets about a third over to the right so the image is pre-blurred. Is this a bug or have I overlooked some setting?
In the Blur Gallery of CS6 the blur pins are not visible. I have tried the shortcut H to show the pins, but this did not affect any change. The pin with the adjustment ring and the other adjustment points are not visible. I seem to be able to add pins with the cursor (push pin with + is visible) and make adjustments on the sliders, but no pins. The M key will display the mask and the P key will toggle the preview on/off.
the problem exists in all 3 blur filters (Field, Iris, Tilt-Shift). I'm operating on a PC running Windows 7 Pro 64 bit, with 12 GB of RAM. The program is Photoshop CS6 Extended. I don't seem to have any other Photoshop issues to date. I've closed and opened the program, restarted the computer, and re-loaded the program from the disk
I can't find blur gallery to edit pins

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been having this issue with certain uses of Puppet Warp and I'm not sure if it's how I'm using, the settings I have for the warp or my computer.
Â
It happens on two different MacBook Pros with 8GB of RAM, on Mac OS X 10.8.4..I will spend about 40 minutes warping a photo converted to a Smart Object so that it looks like it's wrapping around a blanket like so..I can save the file, and edit the photo more as time goes on and nothing is odd... until I save and come back to the file later.
Â
When I open the file and try to edit the photo in the Smart Object, reduce the size of the entire image, or even just double-click on the Puppet Warp filter on the layer panel, it does this:
Â
The pins are way off the board, the image looks like it's split into different parts and the only way to get it back is to Undo any changes. The settings for the Puppet Warp are: Normal, Normal, 2px The image is 7"x5" at 240dpi.
Â
This doesn't happen with all of my Puppet Warped images, but this one shows this behavior every single time. At one point I went in and recreated the Smart Object and Puppet Warp and it did the exact same thing after I was finished. This happens in both CS6 and the new CC versions of Photoshop.
First of all, Photoshop is only available at my school for the time being, so I can't provide screenshots. I'll try to explain properlly though. Basically, I'm just looking into having a man bend down to talk to someone for an animation, and to provide frames in between. I already have the timeline up, and I know how to use the puppet warp. I want to automatically have new frames created in the timeline in between the ones of the man standing and bending. These are my attempts of what I tried to do.
Â
I duplicated the layer of the man. One of the man standing, and one bending down. In the timeline view, I opened up my layers and clicked the stop watch under the "Position" option of both layers. I don't recall what happened, but this attempt didn't work. With the two layers, I tried editing in the stop frame view. I clicked the two frames of both layers, and clicked "Tween" below. I then chose how many frames I want to have be created in between, and the result gave me frames of an opacity difference. In other words, it was fading from the man standing to bending.I had a single layer that I was planning to work with this time in the stop frame view. When I used the Puppet Warp for frame 2, I think I recall it was working fine. But when I tried tweening the two frames, I ran into another opacity problem, and I think I recall the first frame changing into the warped frame.Â
So is there a way to tween motion in Photoshop?
Today I went to puppet warp a layer, and as soon as I placed the first pin, the image part of the puppet warp disappeared - only the mesh was visible. I can't figure out where to put pins or adjust my layer if I can't see the actual image!Â
Â
Have been using puppet warp with my current system config for a long time with no issues, and had, in fact, puppet warped several things just a few minutes prior with no issues. I have tried after restarting, using hardly any system resources, and with all other layers visible, and hidden. No matter what I try, as soon as I place the first pin, only the mesh remains and I can't see what I'm trying to warp at all. !
How to create key frames for puppet warp effects in the timeline?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I am using puppet warp to transform a layer with an unlinked layer mask, the layer mask does not remain in place, it is being warped along with the layer I am working on. This seems to be a bug since the normal transform tools allow the layers to be modified without affecting the mask while it is unlinked.
Â
Grouping the layer by itself and putting the layer mask on the group while I'm using puppet warp to transform the layer works fine and is really not that inconvenient I suppose.
Â
The image I am working on is a large scan of an old map with 12 pages, I'm basically trying to line up all the pages into a seamless image, and so each layer has a mask to hide the margins of each page. I really don't want to have to create a group for each layer just to have each mask stay in place while I'm adjusting the pages. I also do not want to "erase" the margins by applying the layer masks before using puppet warp.
Puppet Warp is a great tool. But sometimes I want to isolate an area and only rework that spot, while keeping everything else in place. To do this I have to go around clicking everything to pin it down. I'm wondering if there's a way to automatically pin all possible points, or click-and-drag to create pins at all intersecting points of the web.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'd like to use the Cable and Wiring tools to model some fibre optics. I can see how this could work well, being able to set and check for the minimum bend radius. However, I'd also like to include a loop of greater than minimum bend radius between the two connection points, we tend to do this to reduce strain on the fibres. Any elegant solution for inserting the loop?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have separated Illustrator images for a character, I applied the puppet pins to one of the layers and tried to rotate it. The puppet pins stay stationary, they don't move with the layer. THis is frustrating, because all the instructional videos I've seen says to "just rotate and move the mesh" but that doesn't work. Even when moving the pins, the image gets cut off and warped what is only inside the mesh.
View 2 Replies View RelatedNot sure if it's just the Puppet tool alone as I have used it many times on various layers and sizes within a comp with no problems. Have a character, used the pins on both legs, arms, and various strands of hair - no problem. It's when I try and place a puppet pin on the body of the character, AE crashes and gives me that error message. Used the puppet tool on larger projects before - have more than enough power and memory. It's a PS file, so why would it crash every time I want to place a pin on the body portion only? I've even scrapped the composition, started with the body portion instead of legs, etc and still, it crashes.

This has happened to me a number of times. Photoshop CC prevents me from rotating the object, I can still move the camera around but not rotate. I cant even select the 3D object. Ive check and caps lock is not on.
Im using Photoshop CC on and Imac running Mountian Lion.
I want to rotate a layer, in this case the background. The Help says "Choose Edit > Transform > Rotate. A box defining the boundaries of the layer (called a bounding box) appears." No. There is no such command. There is a command Free Transform Path and a menu Transform Path, the latter with a command Rotate, but this refers to paths, not to layers.
This is CS5, version 12.1-64 on Mac 10.6.8
I never had problems using the cropping tool to rotate an image to straighten it and then crop. Now in windows all my cropping tool wants to do instead of rotate is SKEW! What is up?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm using PSCS and I can't get the entire canvas to rotate 90 degrees or flip vertically or horizontally (see attached screen shot). In fact Edit>Transform is dimmed unless I Select All, but then I lose part of the image unless I stop, make a bigger canvas, select all, rotate and deselect. Another workaround is, I can make the background layer into an O layer and then I can flip and rotate, but again, only the image moves, not the canvas. I used to be able to do it but not since I re-installed PSCS.
