I have a bunch of digital pictures I am putting in a video script. My video is 16:9 so all my pictures have black at the sides. Does anyone know what size to make these pictures in Photoshop CS3 extended? Do I change the pixel size and if so to what?
View 3 RepliesI am using Photoshop CS6 Extended to make a set of small images for insertion in a MS Word document. I want the images to be 36 mm wide in the printed document. I use File > Image Size to make a file 340 px wide at a resolution of 240 px/inch, save as a tif, and it works correctly in Word. But if I save as jpg, with the same size settings, the file displays in the Word document at 90 mm wide.
If I use Photoshop CS4 to make the jpg, this problem does not occur. The problem happens with Photoshop 13.0.1 x64 on Windows 7 (but not with Photoshop 11.0.2 on Windows XP).
In photoshop 7, I create a graphic. But most of the time the default size of the canvas is bigger than the graphic. How can I "snap," the canvas size to the picture size?

I'm working with images scanned from 35mm transparency film and black and white negatives. The average size when opened in photoshop is .88inches width x 1.297inches height at 2000 pixels/inch. I'll be putting these images on the web as well as printing some.
My question is:
Can I work with them as-is in photoshop and change the size later (for web, printing etc) or is there some general size I should change them too prior to working on them in photoshop CS5 extended?
I am encountering an issue with my copy of Adobe CS6 Photoshop Extended which results in a random increase in the size of text when I try to adjust the size value.
whenever I drag-click the cursor to change the text size value, the input option randomly increases by an also random number of millimeters, suddenly blowing up the size of the text. It then allows me to drag-resize from that increased value. However, when I get to the value I want and release the drag-click it randomly increases the values again thus increasing the size much beyond what I had specified (again increasing the size!!). I am running Adobe Photoshop CS6 Extended (ver. 13.0.5 x64) on an Early 2011 Macbook Pro i7 2.0GHz with 16GBs of RAM. The issue happens on both the built-in trackpad and my Wacom Tablet.
How do I figure out the size of a picture on my canvas? For example my canvas is 500x500 and I have a picture much smaller on it how do I figure out the size of the image. When I click on the image the size does not show anywhere.

When I create the new document I choose 8x10 new RGB image (not sure what resolution I should use, I picked 200)
The problem is that when I resize another image that I am dragging into my new document it blows up way to big even though I changed it to 8x10.
I tried lowering the resolution to 70 but it still does not fit a 8x10 picture format.
I am trying to make a poster I have the background done and I want to add a pic. The pic is approx 4x6, the poster is 11x17. When I copy the pic into the poster it becomes very small. How do I retain the original size? When I try to transform the pic it becomes blurry.

wanted to put all my holiday photos on a picture-sharing site (Photobucket), but it seemed they were too big and it took forever. It was suggested that I reduce their size on Adobe Photoshop and I have downloaded it (Starter Edition 3.2). However, I can't seem to find a facility to do this. What I would really like to do is reduce all of the file sizes at once. Is this possible? Otherwise I will reduce them one by one, but don't know how to do this either.

In my opinion it should be a size that fills a large part of the users screen so they must see. For the content I think a teaser and then a click to the webpage for more info.
I have Photshop CS4. I create a picture with a specific size in Photoshop (eample: 8.5" x 11"). I send it to the printer. In the printer box it also shows the correct print size. However when it prints it is only a small sample of the picture. An 8.5' x 11" picture from Photoshop, showing that size in the Image box and in the Photoshop print box, when sent to the printer shows at the correct size and prints it at 2-3/4" x 3-1/2". If i save the picture from Photoshop onto my desktop, then open it in Microsogt Office Picture Manager, then send it to the exact same printer, it is printed out at the correct size. I don't know why it will not print it to the correct size from Photoshop.

The problem I have was, the saved picture(with png, jpeg, gif, or any format) has a size of over 40k bite. How to make the file size at most the original size, i.e. 4kb by using Photoshop, if it is possible.
Any time I try to print a picture I get a purple frame which limits the size of any picture to 5X7. How do I remove this frame?

I prefer Indesign over Illustrator but I tried with that also and that gives me a limit of 227 inches. I need to go bigger than this and it will probably be a regular problem. Is there a way to trick ID or AI to go larger?
View 7 Replies View RelatedCurrently I am running PhotoShop extended CS5, 64bit. in which i have my fovorite plugins (Topaz, Nik and OneOne) running perfectly.
I have upgraded to Adobe Creative Cloud and installed PhotoShop extended CS6 using Adobe Application Manager as recommended. It didn't ask me if I wanted to upgrade or do a new install for PhotoShop. So now I CS6 running with no Plug-ins. I need my plugins! LOL.
I tried pointing to additional plugins in the CS6 preference to the CS5 plugin folder. Upon Launch it gave me a whole slew of error messages saying something cant load or launch C+ runtime error or what not. It does open up, but it only gives access to Nik and Topaz. OnOne doesn't show up under filters or extensions.
So, what are my options?
Just copy the plugins from CS5 to CS6?
I dont't want to reinstall all the plugins to CS6 if I don't have to as I've auto updated them over time to current versions online, so only have installation files for my original purchases.

I am editing old pictures. To save time I am scanning four pictures at a time. I'm using the marquee tool to crop each picture into their own layer via right click method and choosing "Layer via copy." After I'm done doing this for all four pictures, I have to hide all but one layer, trim the project to the picture size, save it. Then I undo the trim, and start over for the next picture to save.
Is there any easier way to save each cropped section as their own picture/project at the size of their crop without effecting the other pictures? Was wondering if there was a way to crop the portions I want out but instead of copy to layer method, I could just create a new project with that cropped picture?
How do you print multiples of a business card size picture on one sheet of paper? Tried using columns, but not printing multiples.

Anyway, is it possible to scale the picture by px instead of %?
Is there a way to set the relative picture size of an overlay image in the preview window (picture in picture) to a presetted size and AR by default. My overlay pictures never have the original AR unless I select "original aspect ratio" every time.

The object of the picture is on the right and that is where I would like to keep it. What I would like to do is extend the width, to the left, to 960 and fill in that new space with the background color in the picture. Then add the title of my website on the left. I looked at the tutorials but cannot seem to make the tools do the changes I want. how to make my headline.

The picture becomes smaller, does not retain the original size (ex what was cropped off). This did not happen before. Did I click something by mistake? How can I restore cropping such that the new picture is the same size as before?
