Photoshop :: Pen Pressure Only Works In Brand New Document

I'm having a problem where opening any previously saved photoshop document causes pen pressure to stop working. Upon opening any previously saved document, I get a little warning icon guy next to any parameter set to pen pressure control in the brush pane. Hovering over the warning icon gives me a tooltip that says "Control by pen pressure requires the use of a pressure sensitive tablet".
If I open Photoshop and create a brand new document, everything works fine. But once I open any previously created file, pen pressure completely stops functioning until I restart Photoshop, even if I create a new document from that point.
I'm using a Cintiq 21UX (driver version 6.3.4-3) with Photoshop CC (14.1.1) on a Windows 7 machine.

I am running Windows 7 Professional 64 bit and still have both CS5 and CS6 64 bit loaded. I have previously used my Graphire4 Pen Tablet with CS6 wihout any problems. All of a sudden it only works with Pen Pressure even though Pen Pressure is turned off. I am trying to use it like a mouse and frequently use shift/Click when editing a mask. I can no longer do this. If I run CS5 the Pen works as it should but not CS6. When I first open CS6 with the brush palette visible the brush shows a hard brush but when I open a file it changes to pressure sensitive without any action by me. I have reset the brushes, re-installed the driver and finally downloaded a more current driver but the problem still persists. Since it works fine in CS5 but not CS6 it has to be an Adobe problem. It is very frustrating. I am attaching a composite image showing what is happening in CS6. The right side shows what the brush palette looks like before I open a file. The left side shows what happens when I open a file. Even if I don't open a file and make any change within the brush palette it immediately changes to pen pressure.

When working qith wacom tablet on a 32bit mode photoshop document and setting brush>transfer>flow jitter>pen pressure I get a very strange line: Filled with pulses/dots/spots/ in even distances, is if the brush was pulsing as it progressed. It does not happen if I work on a 16 bit document, but I cant work on 16 bit because in 16 bit the screen shows color banding in my gradients (I work with delicate gradients a lot, and I believe 16 bits doesn't handle them quite well)
My specs core i7 2.6ghz + 18GB RAM + ATI HD4800 1024MB running win7 64bit on 120GB SSD read/write speed ~500Mb/s/ planty of pagefile and photoshop is set with ample scratch disk and to utilize 100% resources.

When I copy and paste a pdf document into Corel Draw, it seems as the default size of the pasted object reflects anywhere from 23" (left to right) & 17" (top to bottom) = 23"x17". After selecting the object, & entering an object size of 8" x 11", the document then resizes to 2"x3". So, then I always have to enter the 8"x11" again for it to finally accept that size - which it always does, but on the 2nd time trying.

We just bought a brand new iMac for the office (OS 10.8.2, 2.9 GHz Inetl Core i5, 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3) also bought the new Adobe CS6 standard but PHOTOSHOP and INDESIGN keep hanging.
- I haven't been working on large files
- They don't hang when I use the type tool
- I've fideled around with the scratch disk thinking maybe it was the issue, and the first time it got better but then 2 days later it got drastically worse.
- I un-checked 'auto save file in background' on PS6
- I've uninstalled and re-installed PS and iN
- I've been to every forum
- I've sent crash reports
I just walked in to work, switched it on and I can't even get to General Preferences on PS6.

I had a HD crash recently and I am attempting to re-install PS 7.0 on a new HD with Windows XP Pro. The installation goes flawlessly, but afterwards, when I launch PS, I get an error message that PS cannot initialize because the scratch files are full.

I had a 3 year old imac with CS3 installed, which has failed. I have bought a brand new imac 27", but I was told in the store that this machine is too new to use CS3!
Is it the OS thats too new or the hardware? I'm happy to downgrade my ios to snow leopard or something like that.

8 Gb 1333Mhz DDR3 (was running 4 gb. an apple specialist just installed another 4 of Crucial brand. I wanted 16gb, but apparently I got a Mac in mid 2010 when it's finicky about it's Ram. Ugh)

1 TB internal on the Mac that is checkmarked as secondary Scratch.
I'm working with Jpeg image files, mainly using Batch Processing. This error is usually occuring when I go to save my files, but today it occurred in the middle of using Content Aware. My crop tool is set at 250 resolution, and today I hadn't even cropped yet. Mac was freshly restarted last night and only a few picures edited after I restarted, so all memory should have been mainly purged. (although I had used content aware on one picture last night after restarting, a pretty large corner of a studio backdrop)
Should I be partioning my external? Is this TOO much space? My thinking was an empty hard drive wouldn't have to be searched, but I really probably don't know what I'm talking about.
I never got any errors when I was using my internal HD on the Mac, it was just slowing down after using Batch Processing and Actions. (I edit for a photographer) I do realize I should be using Lightroom. I have Lightroom 3, but I just don't have the time to learn right now, as this is the photographers busy season.

I'm looking for a solution about the omission of lens brand in the Exif data generated by Lightroom (even 4.2 version).
I know there is some discussions about this topic, but I didn't find anything specific with brands of lenses.
When I export with Aperture, correct Lens ID appears in the Exif data:
Eg Lens Model: Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS
But when I export the same CR2 file in Lightroom, "Canon" is omitted, I got:
Lens Model: EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS
Same thing with pictures taked with my Sigma and Canon family.
In my case this is a "problem". I need Exif tags containing lens brand for an accurate process with others softwares, for example with PTGUI to generate spherical panoramic.

I've created a pdf file (with illustrator cs3). when I try to open it on photoshop CS3 I receive this message:
"error opening the portable document file (PDF) document. error code = 0X20030055"
I can open this pdf file outside photoshop.no problem openning other pdf files on photoshop.

as of yesterday i have been receiving an alert when i try to move a jpeg into a new photoshop doc stating that my target document has a different depth than my source document and will (which it definiately does) result in lower than expected quality.

Oil Paint is suddenly crashing Photoshop CC, even though it worked fine a couple of days ago and works fine on Photoshop CS6.
Error: "The flter you were using encountered an unknown graphics processor error that caused an unexpected exit. Check the manufacturers website for the latest software."
I'm up to date on all of my software. Working on a Mac Pro, older model, but as I said, Oil Pain filter works fine on Photoshop CS6 and worked yesterday on Photoshop CC, but not today.

I have a PSD with the size of 344 MB. When I open it with Photoshop CS5, it take 1,38 GB from the RAM.When I do the same with Photoshop CS6, it take 5,26 GB from the RAM.Then CS6 works very slowly and I can forget to do anything with it.
I have a notebook with this technical data:
Intel Core i7 2Ghz8 GB Ram AMD Radeon HD 6850M 4GB1000 GB HDD...The settings for performance of both Photoshop are the same.

I had 3 updates through the so-called cloud. They were bridge CC, Photoshop CC and an extension mgr update to CS6. After installing the updates Photoshop CC no longer works. It boots up but all selections do nothing. Even closing PS cc won't work.

All of my photos are 8 bit, but when I open them I get a message at the bottom of the screen reading "exposure works in 32-bit only". When I save these photos as any file type (JPEG, PNG, ect) they seem to export as 32bits/channel. That is to say, that they appear very dark and saturated, exactly how they look in PS if I select the 32bits/channel mode option.I may be getting confused between the 32/64bit versions of PS (i'm using 64bit CS5 at the moment.) But i'm really puzzled as to how I can export my images looking the same as they were when I imported them.

I'm trying to understand how converting to different color profiles within Photoshop works.
What I'm trying to understand is why, when I have a document saved in with an embedded color profile of "Adobe RGB (1998)", when I *convert* the color profile to "Adobe RGB (1998)" (the same profile) the colors change dramatically. If I am converting to the same color profile, shouldn't the colors remain the same, and not change?

Okay, I just purchased a new computer, it's Windows 8, 64 bit ... anyhow, I noticed when I try to edit an image, using any tool, clone, erase, the image turns black (the whole thing) and then gets normal again ... I just downloaded CS5 I had on my other computer .... would the 32 bit 64 bit thing come in to play with what's happening here....?
I noticed at the bottom it says 'exposure works in 32 bit only' ?

first of all thank you for taking your time to look at my problem...i've spent a day and a half looking for an answer but nothing works! I have a picture that i try to feather so that the edges won't show when i post it on a webpage but everytime i do it when i upload it,
it's not transparant! it's white! is there something im doing wrong? i tried saving it as a GIF and PNG but that still don't work...it works while im on PS but when i save it, it goes back to white feathering! am i making sense?

I'm using Vista 64-bit. I've purchased two different Photoshop CS4 Extendeds off of ebay and both have had this same problem. Makes me wonder if I'm doing something wrong. I install photoshop, enter the serial number, all works fine. The next time I open up photoshop, it says that the serial number is no longer valid. I tried calling adobe the first time and they said that the number I had given them was invalid, yet it worked the first time. I'm using CS4 with a Dell XPS 1710 notebook.
In preferences, performance, I set "enable OpenGL Drawing". It listed my graphics card "Nvidia Corporation GEForce 7900 GTX/PCI/SSE2"
I tried the rotation and zooming features and they worked well.
As soon as I tried to apply a filter, such as 'filter gallery' or liquify, no preview image shows in the filter screen. It is just white. The controls work, showing I am zooming in, but no image"

I have talked with Apple. These files can be brought in to iphoto and then exported. This is not what I want to do. I want to open in Camera Raw. Is there a workaround with a converter for CS5.5? I see there is Camera Raw 8.1 available. From what I have read, it is only for CS6 or CC - forcing me to upgrade? Then, according to some posts, the Camera Raw update 8.1 is buggy and does not work as well as previous versions.
I really don't want to re-install, uninstall, flush cache, look for fixes, etc, etc. Is there a converter or plugin that works with CS5.5?
