I recently upgraded from LR4 and CS6 to LR5 and Photopshop CC. My Nik filters transfered to LR5 but not Photoshop CC. How can I reconnect these filters to the new software?

I have hardly ever used filters for any of my work as I have preferred using Xara's native tools and effects to get what I wanted. But recently, I was inspired by some animation work which used backgrounds painted in Photoshop. They used a lot of textures which enhanced the look of the animation and so I thought I'd try to simulate it within Xara.
It works very well and I can export it as a PSD retaining the layers and Alpha channel. But here come my questions.
1. How can I remove the two Alien Skin demo plugins as I already have the full versions.
2. Why don't the native Photoshop plugins--Artistic, Sketch, etc.--seem to work?
In CS3 you could change something to make all filters act like smart filters, even though they won't. I found this worked very well, now I have CS4 and would like to do the same but can't remember what to do to make it work.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI took a short video on my iphone of my sister-in-law's wedding. I want to transfer the video to my CS6 Cloud. Can this be done? Can I transfer it to photoshop or is there another part of the CS6 that would work better for this type of project? I have "streaming" from my iphone to my mac computers and the pictures go into my iphoto library. Can I "stream" the video to photoshop instead and then create "still shots" so I can edit individual photos to put in a wedding album?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've shot some video clips with DSLRs, and imported into Lightroom4 along with my stills, with normal Import metadata applied. All looks good in LR.
Videos are generated as .MOV files.If I open a video in Photoshop CS6, and look at File Info, there is nothing there, not even camera info let alone the LR import preset with copyright info etc., nor the keywords and caption that I added in LR? Metadata for videos is also blank if I look at the file with Bridge.
Metadata for stills (including what was added in LR) is visible in both PS File Info and in Bridge.Why doesn't PS or Bridge see any metadata for the video files?
Separate problem, although perhaps related, is that I made some develop edits to the video in LR (using capture frame, develop, save as preset, then apply preset to the video file). All looks good in LR, as well as exported files. However, if I want to use enhanced capability in CS6, there is no "edit in" available as there is with stills. If I open the video directly in CS6, none of the edits show; I get the as-shot file (which I can understand). Is there any way to open the video in CS6 with LR edits applied? At least be presented the option of doing this or opening the as-shot file? If I open the file in Corel's Video Studio Pro, the LR adjustments are there (clipped to length and colour and tonal adjustments applied).

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recenty upgraded from an old Vista PC to a new one running Windows 7. My IT guy transfered all the files and my application software. I'm running Elements 11 along with Organizer. I shoot in Nikon RAW (.NEF), open in Organizer, then edit and save in Elements to JPG format. My new photos work fine, but the old files have lost their associativity between the original RAW file and the resulting JPG. Is there any way I can restore the associativity for the files that were transferred from my old PC?

View 1 Replies View RelatedIf I copy a bunch of pictures from PSE 10 & then load them into a tablet (galaxy tab 2 10.1) should all of the Tags still have all of the EXIF data & tag information from PSE? The reason that I ask is because I looked at a few picture copied this way & the tablet gives the choice of displaying things like where picture taken,presumably from GPS data as well as by date taken etc?
I can call up some picture with where taken but none that would have used other tags.
Last night I purchased Elements 12 online. Prior to my purchase, I chatted with an Adobe techie to make sure Elements 12 would properly overwrite/remove Elements 9 currently on my computer and replace it with the Elements 12. I was assured this would be the case, it wasn't. Not only do I still have Elements 9 on my system but, when my pictures were transferred from Elements 9 to 12, they were all transferred as single thumbnail pictures instead of the Folders containing specific pictures. I don't relish the thought of creating new Folders and transfering close to a thousand pictures pertaining to a specific Folder that were in my Elements 9. Just wondering if the download of Elements 12 was really successful based upon what happened.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am working on a dormitory project and need to provide a required light and ventilation schedule. I have figured out how to create a schedule for each level, but I want to isolate only the Dormitories and the Kitchenette (weed out all the other rooms such as corridor, elevator, storage, toilets, showers, stairs, trash, electrical, etc.).
I tried using seclusion filters, but there are too many items to exclude and cannot fit them all into the 4 filter categories. I am trying to just get the rooms that begin with 'D' and 'K'. I tried providing the variable 'Begins With' for D and in the next line 'Begins With' K, but then nothing shows up.
Is there a way to provide information to the filter that would allow it to show only rooms beginning with D AND K? I cannot seem to get it to work. I have been playing around with separation values within one filter category (i.e. 'Begins With' D, K) but apparently you cannot add multiple variables within one of the filter items.
When I update photo's to current process in LR 4.1RC, and then edit them in Photoshop, I don't see the changes I've made in LR (Exposure, contrast, highlights, shadows, whites and blacks) in CS5.
If I don't update them, all changes are perfectly transferred to CS5.
I've been working on items in Illustrator, and noticed a HUGE change when I transfer them into Photoshop. What I am doing is creating images (and text) in Illustrator.
Then I select, Control + C to copy, then I paste into my 300dpi document in Photoshop to add textures, etc. Once they are brought in... the text is pixelated and not clear like it is in Illustrator.

I loaded some old, saved images I have on disk to Lightroom. When I attempt to export the image to email, the command states It can't locate the mage, even though I am looking at it.

Since transferring my photo files from my hard drive to an external drive(without telling lightroom) I have completely lost all connections between lightroom and the new destination (my external drive). There is no sign of anything at all in Lightroom. It shows 0 photos, my preferences seem gone, and it is as though I have just loaded up lightroom for the very first time. Do I need to start from scratch and reimport my photos or is there some way I can retreive/reconnect the photos so I have the edits I have already made?

Now, when I open a "collection", the photo files are no longer associated with the collection. How do I reassign a location to these files in these collections?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been using illustrator since cs2. And since then i have been troubling with the texts which created in another program. Mostly Microsoft Word.
After converting .doc to .pdf, texts get seperated.
You can see what i mean from the screen shot. As you see all dots on left hand side are seperated and the text which seperated by space button also becomes different text boxs. I moved the texts on the 4th line to point it out. Is there a tool or trick to build the words in to a single text sentence or paragraph? I imagine a tool like shape builder. I need this badly because i have plenty of pages to fix.
I downloaded the Pixel Bender toolkit for my mac. The file are under utilities..how to get the filters in PS CS5.

View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I'm editing a file in PS CS5, when I want to used Artistic Filters it's greyed out, as are most of the options in the Filters menu. This happens whatever type of file I'm working on, and it doesn't matter whether I'm working in layers, a flattened image or a fresh image that's completely unedited and am using the background layer.
