View 3 RepliesThe Time Configuration dialogue isn't remembering when I set 'Custom' to 30. If I close and reopen the dialogue after setting 'Custom' to 30, it reverts to NTSC. If I set it to 3 or 4, for example, it sticks. Why is setting it to 30 reverting to NTSC when NTSC is NOT 30 fps?

I'm running CS and have had no problems viewing TV safe guides.
trying to set up a TV safe zone with an image for a project he is doing.
Is it possible to do it withoin photoshop. He is convinced he can do it. But is getting very frustrated that he cannot remember how.
A client I'm doing a site for right now is having a hard time understanding that there are only so many fonts that can be used on a website for text. She doesn't like Arial, and wants something that draws more attention. But I don't want to go to a serif font either.
I really don't know the complete list of 'standard', web-safe fonts. Anyone able to help me out here? Maybe I will find something more to taste if I know what will show up.
I am creating titles for a 720 PAL video (25fps) for the first time. Photoshop only has a default of NTSC 29.97 and no option for 720 PAL 25fps. How do I change this? I'm running Photoshop CS5 extended.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI use PS CS2 alot to make adds for my company that goes into business magazines. Cometimes the content is rather "heavy", and over time i've developed a style which focuses more on function and communicating a msg, than on design (engineers love this).
Now I've found out what file format most of the guys who prints the magazines likes (Press qual PDF with crop marks and sometimes bleeds), but lately when I "safe as" from PS, my image size is not preserved in the PDF!
No matter if I do custom settings or use the defaults. Today im working on a 80mm x 125mm, 300pix/cm (pixel dimensions are 2400x3750) add for a magazine. When I safe as Press Quality PDF, I end up with a PDF, scaled down 3-4 times in size.
Needles to say, im baffled. I've done this countless times, and cant figure out whats wrong.
I've made a dump with the image settings for the PS image, and directly after an export, in Acrobat. See for yourself (note, 1" is approx. 2.5 cm, so the PDF image is approx 3.15x4.93 cm).
I just made a multilayered logo for a website. I forgot to make sure that the colors were web safe on the first couple of layers. Is there a way to go through and make sure they are safe or is there a way to make the entire image websafe in one step?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm having a high resolution image (above 100 dpi) changing it's color settings after submitted to the web.
The image looks fine on the Desktop - and if saved using "Save for web..." dialogue the colors remains as deserved on the web as well.
Is there a way to save an image so the color preferences aren't distorted after publishing to the web, but without reducing to 72 dpi?

I use Photoshop CS4 and I shoot and edit my pictures in Adobe RGB 1998.
P.S. If I open Adobe RGB psd file and assign color profile to sRGB it changes to how my non-web-safe images look when uploaded to the web.
Is there a way to nudge a guide?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just bought VS X3 and when i try to save a file all the file types are NTSC. I select:-
create video file >Blu-ray>
then all options are prefixed with NTSC but being in the UK I need PAL?
Looking at the differences of frames per second and vertical lines of NTSC and PAL I am wondering if video recorded in AVCHD NTSC can be successfully converted to PAL or will there be a noticable difference in picture height and speed?
View 14 Replies View RelatedI wish to only use PAL formats. Even though my original video files are always PAL the preset file formats default to NTSC. I have to use the Custom Format option every time. How can I get all the presets to default to PAL not NTSC?
View 2 Replies View RelatedFamily DVD - Footage has been shot in the UK (PAL camera) and edited in X3 - everything at 25 fps. I've managed to render a new mpeg2 file of the completed work n NTSC (29.97 fps). All of this in X3. I can see it's 29.97 by looking at the Properties of the new file.
But how to get this file onto a DVD at 29.97? I've tried bringing the 'NTSC' file into MovieFactory SE but I can't then get the Project Settings to show NTSC - only PAL.
I've set the Disc Template Manager to NTSC but if I then look at the Project Settings it's at 25 fps and I can't change it. If I go back to the Template Manager it's showing PAL again!!! I'm sure I didn't have any of this trouble in X2!!
So how can I burn a good quality DVD in NTSC format from my PAL project?
I usually produce simple slideshows on DVD from jpg files. These have always been PAL for use here in the UK. I now need to produce a version of one to send to people in the United States.
I can always test mine on my own DVD player/TV but I won't be able to test these and don't want an embarrassment of a Christmas present that doesn't work. Is it the case that I only need to change PAL to NTSC in the Project Properties, burn the DVD and everything will work?
I am in the UK and have been asked to transfer a NTSC video tape to a PAL DVD. I can do this easily as I have a NTSC video and converter, and have done this many times, but they also want a DVD to send to the USA in NTSC format. I was going to play the tape a second time without the converter but Is it as easy as just changing the setting in Videostudio 10 from PAL to NTSC or do I have to change anything else.

When using View > New Guide ... can i get the Guide to place itself up against a Shape in the center of the Canvas (or where ever the shape is located), without knowing the Position to set the Guide at?
Â
i thought that maybe Selecting the Shape would work but as you probably already know ... it didn't.
I am on a PC - Windows 7 - CS5.5 Extended. Is there a way to have several guide colors all at once?
Â
I am working on a template and have several borders I am working with bad want to differentiate the "layout" using various guides but making the "groups" different colors.
Â
E.g. : I have one "square" 1 inch in from all sides. Guide color is default. I have another "square 1.5 inches in from all sides and want those four guides to all be one color, different from the default color.
In my PC (windows 7 ) new ruler guide not fix exactly it fixes 1px difference gap.

I completed a project in Pro X5 but now I want to save it out to my computer. The problem is that when I want to save it I am missing my compression options. My standard procedure was to go --> Share --> Save File --> Custom --> Options --> Compression and I could choose from 8 different Media Types...Now, in Pro X5 I only get 2 compression types...NTSC and PAL..
Here are some screenshots...

View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently bought a Sony DCR-HC96E (PAL) video camera. I also have an older Sony DCR-TRV330 (NTSC) which I have used for years.
I recently took some video of a field partially covered with snow. When that clip was convered from the original downloaded PAL Widescreen AVI format to MPEG format for inclusion on an NTSC DVD I noticed lots of "shimmering" or wavering in the high contrast diference boundries between snow patches and ground. Further examination shows that effect is also along other contrast boundries during a subsequent snow mobiling trip.
By contrast when I converted to MPEG for use in a PAL DVD I do NOT see this effect. And, I do not recall seeing this when I used to convert from NTSC AVI downloads to PAL for DVD's.
I'm working on a flyer on a 8x11 canvas, but I want all of the elements I'm working to be transferred to a NTSC video film format. I understand how to a open a NTSC (Video Film Canvas), but I do not understand how to convert a canvas that I'm working to that.
