Photoshop :: Merge To HDR Pro Resulting In Different Image And 8 And 16 Bit Sliders Don't Preview?

Jul 24, 2013

In Cs6 whenever I touched any of the sliders the image in the preview panel changed quite nicely, now when I start the HDR Pro it comes up with a black image in the preview panel. Thats easy to fix though I switch from 16 bit or 8 bit to 32 bit the preview shows up and I can click on the 16 or 8 bit modes and it shows a preview.

Then when I adjust any of the sliders nothing happens. I can play with the sliders as much as I want nothing happens. I have been using the 32 bit mode in cunjunction with the 'tone in ACR' setting which gives great results, but now I wanted to play with the scott5 preset. If I click ok it creates the image beautifully. So not only won't it preview but my image is completely different to what is in the preview panel.

Photoshop :: Merge To HDR Pro Preview And Final Result Very Different

Oct 14, 2012

I'm using CS5 and beginning to use HDR.  When I merge to HDR pro and make adjustments to images the preview window is extremely different from the final image.  I'm merging original camera raw images from a Nikon D200.  Workflow in ACR is set to 16bit.  Output from HDR pro is also 16bit.  I adjust using the preview window, but after final processing the resulting image is grossly different, much more saturated and more vibrant among other differences.

Photoshop :: Sliders Makes No Change To Image

Oct 14, 2013

iMac, OS 10.8.5 Photoshop CS 6. I have activated the Graphics Display Unit (or whatever it is called) and, with an image in Photoshop and its Layer selected, I do Filters > Render > Lighting Effects. I get the panel on the right called Properties and under it some sliders for Color, Hotspot, etc.

Burt moving the sliders makes no change to the image. Tutorials say that I should get a white elliptical shape with white blobs which should allow me to alter the lighting effects, ("Lighting Controls"?) but nothing appears. The tutorials show a "Menu Bar" should appear just under the three coloured blobs at the top left of the main window. That "Menu Bar" shows, from left to right, something like: a light bulb; Presets-Custom; Lights and three tiny blobs; some thing else; and at the right end, a check; Preview; Cancel; and OK in blue.

I think that "Menu Bar" with Preview checked must appear before I can use the lighting controls on the image. How the heck do I get to see a preview so that I can see and use the lighting controls?

Lightroom :: 5 - Moving Develop Module Sliders Blurs Image For Moment?

Aug 5, 2013

I'm evaluating Lightroom 5 during the 30 day trial and it's all cool except for this one big annoyance that I noticed immediately when trying to work on an image in Develop module. As stated in the title, moving any slider (exposure, highlights, noise reduction, etc.) causes the image to go very blurry for the duration of the slider movement. It goes immediately back to being sharp as soon as I stop moving the slider. This is super annoying, feels as though my eyes are going bad.

What's interesting is that the problem doesn't show up when I'm adjusting the Tone Curve directly, but it will get triggered if I'll expand and use the sliders underneath. So looks like a bug that only applies to sliders.

This doesn't happen at all in Lightroom 4.4, which I still have installed and can compare side-by-side.

As for the hardware, I'm using the 2013 Macbook Air with 1.3 GHz i5 CPU and 8 GB of RAM. The OS X version is 10.8.4 with all latest upgrades installed.

I've already tried optimizing the catalog, giving it more space (currently at 3 GB) and purging it. I'm not using Smart Previews, although I've turned them on for a moment to see if the problem persists with them on - it does. I've also re-rendered the 1:1 preview for the specific image I've been trying it on. Btw, the file is a NEF from Nikon D300 and I'm using the 2012 process (as was the case with LR4). Not sure what else might be relevant here.

Photoshop :: Grey Image Using Merge To HDR Pro On Mac

Hopefully the screen shot will come through showing my results. I have reset Pref file in PS, still the same.

Photoshop :: Image Blend/Merge

May 10, 2009

Photoshop CS2, I have two images (ImageA and ImageB),2) I want to place ImageB onto a canvas with ImageA - this I can do,3) When I place ImageB onto the canvas and nudge it to ImageA, I want the RIGHT side of ImageA to Blend/Merge/Feather with the LEFT side of ImageB. The result is that I do not want to see the edges of either images when they are nudged together. I'd like them to "Flow" together. Also, I'd like to be able to put a "Glow Around" then entire merged content, but Ithink I have a link that explains this. I am not sure of the terminology above - Blend/Merge/Feather

Photoshop :: Merge To HDR Results In 72 Dpi Image

Jun 16, 2008

I've recently discovered that when using the Merge to HDR function the resulting image is 72 dpi as opposed to the 240dpi of the original files used to create the 32 bit image. I've tried using both psd and RAW files with the same result. Others have confirmed this does not happen on the Mac version of CS3. I am using CS2 but others in a class I am taking have experienced similar problems with CS3 running on Windows. I'm running XP Pro which has been kept up to date. CS2 also has all updates installed.

Apparently, PS is also resizing the image to a relatively huge document size in the process of converting my bracketed images to HDR while retaining the correct pixel dimensions. The work around is to uncheck the "Resample Image" box within the "Image Size" dialog window after conversion so as to restore a 240 dpi resolution but this adds yet another step to the workflow.

Photoshop :: Merge To HDR Pro Turns Image Black?

Dec 1, 2012

When I try to merge to HDR pro, the entire photo becomes black. It is still the same photo because when I increase the exposition I can almost make out the original photo. I tried to work on the exposition of the three photos, but that didn't work. I tried everything that I read on the Adobe Forum, but nothing is working. Up until about a month ago, it was working perfectly. I have photoshop cs6 with the latest upgrades and a Mac OS X Version 10.7.5 with 3.4 GHz and 32 GB ram.

Photoshop :: CS6 HDR Merge Failed To Output Image

Mar 25, 2013

I started from Lightroom 4 and did a merge to HDR. All the images opened in Photoshop CS6 HDR. (Unlike CS5 there was only one tab called Untitled HDR) The HDR control panel opened up and I edited the highlights shadows and removed ghosts. I clicked to finilize the process. The panel closed and I find myself looking at a PS CS6 screen with no image open at all. I went to LR4 and looked around. There was no stacked image. There was no imported image. I sorted all edited images. It was not there. I went back to PS CS6 and and tried again only I changed 16bit to 8bit. Still nothing. I had Google Chrome running and nothing else. I am using a iMac running 10.7.5 with 4 gigs of ram. Nothing ran slow.

I would imagine part of the problem is I have been using the polygonal lasso to help block off the areas i want to layer mask - I have tried the free hand lasso but the results are too wonky.

Photoshop :: Preferences -- Image Preview

Apr 20, 2008

Can anyone tell me whether clicking this setting on will improve Bridge's ability to create thumbnails and previews of large (but still under the limit set in Bridge Preferences) Photoshop files? When I save multi-layered PSD's, some of their thumbnails show up, some don't. I can't find a pattern.

This is part of a larger issue which makes me a little nuts about so many computer programs. In the Photoshop Help page, this is what I found:

]Image Previews
] Choose an option for saving image previews: Never Save to save files without previews, Always Save to save files with specified previews, or Ask When Saving to assign previews on a file-by-file basis. In Mac OS, you can select one or more preview types.

Photoshop :: Print With Preview Different Than Image...

May 10, 2008

I am using CS2. when I print with preview and choose "any" icc profile, I see an off color image. This off color image is printed off color and not what I originally had. It is approximately 1/2 to one stop density lighter (and redder) and the shadows are cyan/blue, instead of neutral black.

If I choose Adobe RGB as the profile and print, the image is close but not correct. This is happening with CS2 and elements 6.

Of course the r1800 is set for ICM and off - no color adjustment.

I have down loaded new profiles, reinstalled my epson r1800, checked for missing files in CS2.

I am running windows XP Home, 2gig memory, dell xps. I have been using this system for over two years without a problem until now.

Photoshop :: New HDR Image Darker Than Preview

May 13, 2008

I was using Adobe Bridge to combine sets of 3 photos with different exposures to create HDR images and sending them to Photoshop. So far today I made 20+ such images and successfully saved them into PSDs.

I just ran into an odd problem. After clicking 'Merge to HDR' in the Bridge -> Photoshop option, Photoshop did it's thing of merging my 3 images. The preview window came up, it looked perfect, so I clicked 'Ok'. Then it created an Untitled document (as it always does), except that this image is much darker than what was shown in the preview. I tried doing some light adjustments, can't get it to be what I saw in the preview window.

All of my other HDR creations were exactly the same as I saw in the preview window. What's going on?

GIMP :: Merge Grid With Complete Image

Jan 28, 2012

One of the purposes I want to use GIMP for are in scaling the dimensions of objects like musical instruments or sculpture, to create a construction plan. If I have an undistorted photo of, say, a guitar, and I know at least one dimension in the photo, I can SHOW and CONFIGURE GRID to get a "1 square = 1 inch" reference and extrapolate the remainder of the dimensions.

What I need to be able to do is include the grid in a saved/rendered photo file, which GIMP doesn't seem to want to do. The grid appears to be virtual, and disappears when layers are flattened out and the image is exported.

Is there a way to do this, or do I need to generate a standalone grid as a transparent layer and include that in my merge? If so, how do I go about generating a grid layer without having to hand-draw one?

CorelDRAW X5 :: Save A Print Merge File With Merge Data Field

Feb 26, 2013

Why cant I save a cdr job with all the merge fields setup so that next time I open the file I can go straight to 'merge to new document'.

So Ive set up a 10 to view raffle tickets job.  Inserted 20 numerical merge fields, positioned, resized, applied font size color alignment etc etc etc.. Takes ages.....  So then merge to a new document, works nice and I can save it fine.

There are a hundred reasons why i may have to close the 'master' merge file before the job has been successfully printed.  It may be a repeat print job.

Any which way I really dont get why the live merge data  fields are lost on closing the file.

Photoshop :: How To Access Thumbnail / Preview Image Of A PSD File

trying recover anything i can from a corrupted PSD file. What happened was I saved my work and closed photoshop and hit the reset button on my PC afterwards by mistake (i dont see why this caused a problem because the program was fully closed at the time). When I open the file now it says it uses an unsupported blending mode, if i press ok I get an error saying incompatible PS version, if I press flatten it says unexpected end of file was encountered. Ive tried PSD repair tools and searched the net for solutions and there doesn't seem to be any.

The thing is, the thumbnail of the file seems to be intact because I can still see it as the file icon. I wanted to know if there was any way i can access this thumbnail image so i can enlarge it.

Photoshop :: Color Difference Between Original Image And Preview

I corrected this on the original image by choosing View > Preview > Uncompensated RGB. However, if I try colour adjustment etc e.g. variations, all the preview images still have the green tinge. Does anyone know how to correct this?

Also Uncompensated RGB is supposed to be the default view, but when I close PS the setting is lost and on opening, all images including the original are back to green. What am I missing? I have other versions 5.5 and CS on other pcs with no problems.

Photoshop :: Action :: Creation Of Several Preview Thumbs From One Image

Jun 16, 2004

I'm trying to simplify the creation of several preview thumbs from one image.

For example, my base image is a 400x600px image, and from this image I need to create the following thumbs:

1: 150x100px

2: 100x150px

3: 69x42px

4: ...

I would like an Action that would Crop the base image and save a copy of each of these thumbs. I can't fugure out how to do this since I need to adjust the Marquee selection for each thumb to Crop the part of the base image I want.

So can this be done? So the action is started and it pauses for each Marquee selection (the aspect ratio for the selection should not be entered each time, I need that info hardcoded in the Action) and then I can continue the Action and then adjust the Marquee for thumb #2.. and so on..

What is the "high quality preview" doing to make it look so sharp? Does anyone know what settings the preview is using?

I want my actual images to look as sharp as the previews! It seems like a major teaser that the preview looks BETTER than the opened image.
