I need some action, to copy the text from the File Info>Deskription box, and paste on the photo.
I have PS CS3 on Win XP SP2, 2 GB RAM, nVidia geForce 8500GT with updated drivers. Until 2 days ago everything was perfect (smooth movement and action in PS CS3). Suddenly every move I make (draw a simple line, move or resize window, painting with paint brush etc) become very choppy and fragmentated and CPU raise instant to 100%. I uninstalled PS CS3 and reinstalled again, but with no luck. Any ideea about what is happening here? Thank you! PS: Other programs like Fireworks, Flash, Illustrator etc work very nice and smooth with maximum 20-30% CPU usage.

View 1 Replies View RelatedTake action to make Kodak Plug Ins possible for Macintosh CS6.Aparently, they are unable to integrate them into the new version of Photoshop without your participation.
be aware that our Plug-Ins are 32-bit. CS5 allowed for our Plug-Ins to be installed in 32-bit mode on the Mac, but this was not offered for CS6. You might check with Adobe to see if they will offer this in future. We are currently evaluating the possibility of updating our Kodak Professional Image Enhancement Plug-Ins to 64-bit, but have no definite plans as of now. Please periodically visit our website for any updates to our plug-in availability.

Make Action to Batch process PDF to JPEGs saved for the web
I have about 80-100 pdf's that I want to change from 300dpi to 100dpi indexed color and save as gif.
If I create an action
Convert pdf to gif
with steps
Mode > Indexed Color
Save as gif
running this action as a batch only opens the files. I am left with files open in RGB mode, not indexed color. This means the batch processor did not run any of the steps in my action. (Yes, I did make sure in the batch dialog that I specified my action set.)
Here is my action in the action menu.
pdf to gif
Convert mode
To: indexed color mode
Pallette: adaptive
Colors: 64
Forced: Black and white
Without transparency
Matte: None
Save
As: Compuserve GIF
With Interlace
In: ...
Here are my steps, using a test folder with 2 pdf's:
1. Launch Photoshop
2. File > Automate > Batch
3. Batch dialog:
Set [my set]
Action [pdf to gif]
Source: Folder
Choose: [my test folder with 2 pdf's]
Destination: Folder
Choose: [my testgif folder, empty]
File naming: Document name + extension
Errors: Log errors to file
File: [my testgif folder, empty]/error.txt
4. OK
5. Set resolution to 100dpi.
6. Click OK for 1st pdf.
7. Click OK for 2nd pdf.
Actual result:
Both files open and stay open.
Both files are still RGB mode.
No gif's in testgif folder.
errors.txt reads:
Start Batch
End Batch
Expected result:
Files closed (possibly I have to add a Close step)
2 gifs in the testgif folder.
Using an action of Save for Web in place of Mode > Indexed color also did not create any gifs.
I'm wondering whether the PDF dialog on open is throwing a wrench into the works.
I am trying to create an action that will make multiple thumbnails of the same image and apply actions to each one to create a kind of contact sheet. I want to do this in order to see what different saved adjustments will look like on the same picture.

View 1 Replies View Related'm trying to make an action to automate the saving of one photoshop file to multiple different jpegs. Basically what I am doing is producing team pictures from a psd template. I will do player #1 then save as #1jpeg, #2 save as #2jpeg, etc up to 20 players. I tried to make an action but it won't allow me to insert a file name. It would be straight forward if I could get a stop in there. how I could automate this
View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen I load an image either a jpeg or psd file then make a layer copy I am unable to apply a preset action to this. Either a default action or one of my own on a Mac OSX running Lion. This did not present a problem in CS5 and I am wondering if I've missed something basic?

View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I first started using PS I didn't install actions correctly now I don't know where any of those actions are stored. I searched for ATN files but only found the actions that I know that installed right. Is there a way to send action from PS onto my hard drive and save them correctly?

View 11 Replies View RelatedI need help understanding the interaction between Camera Raw, Photoshop smart objects, and XMP sidecar files.
If I open a RAW file in Camera Raw, change some Raw settings, and click Open Object to open the file as a smart object in Photoshop CS4, an XMP file gets created. If sometime later I double-click the smart object layer in Photoshop and change the Raw settings again, the XMP file does not get updated. So where exactly did the Raw settings get stored? Did they get embedded in the Photoshop file along with the RAW image? If so, why did an XMP file get created? Can I safely delete the XMP file?
I would like to transfer batch commands that I created in CS2 to CS5. these are the commands created under import-batch.  where are those files stored and will cs2 files work under cs5 (or are they version specific)
View 7 Replies View RelatedI've been working on some very large files where the primary image is converted to a smart object. For security I've backed up the PS files to another drive. Is the smart object part self contained? or stored as a separate lined file? Like if I had a PS file in illustrator. Backing up the Ill file would leave the image file behind?

I just don't want to get surprised with an X in my layers down the road.Â
Where is the copyright text that appears in the metedata in Bridge and Photoshop (File > Get Info) stored? My photos are all stuck with "© 2011 My Name, all rights reserved." How can I change it so that the metadate shows "© 2012 My Name, all rights reserved."? I know I can edit the metadata, but I have thousands of photos with the wrong date, and I cannot find where the text is stored.
Where can I change this so that all photos taken this year have the correct copyright date? Did I enter this text somewhere? In some Preferences panel? If so, I can't find it. I have set this to 2012 on the camera, so it's not coming from there. Searching Adobe Photoshop produces nothing useful. Searching the system for the character string produces nothing. Where does this come from?

I need to reformat and had some shaped I made that I dont want to lose.
does anyone know where they are stored?
I looked in Program FilesAdobeAdobe Photoshop CSPresetsCustom Shapes but did not see anything for "user made" or anything like that. Would they be in the "all.csh" or somewhere else?
I have some weird virus action going on and need to reformat. I cant get into photoshop to export shapes. So I was wondering if anyone knows where I can find to save my custom shapes.
I have found .csh files in 2 locations:

My computer crashed and I had to recover my HD professionally a few months ago. I bought a new HD, reinstalled all my apps and copied my files over to the new drive.
I cannot seem to find the file that had all of my actions from the old harddrive. What file would I be looking for? I search for all .atn files on the recoved hd and copied them over but my old actions are no where to be found.
where these files are stored?
I have installed an abundance of brushes usually by double clickling from the download folder, and now I want to back them up. I have ran .abr spotlight searches and found nothing; they are also not in the photoshop > presets > brushes folder. Only the stock brushes are in there. Where can they be? I'm using mac osx.

After completing a many-hours-long automated process (Contact Sheet II), Photoshop decided to error out on me as soon as it finished. It has a pop up that says:
Â
"Could not complete your request because of a program error."
Â
It appears that I will need to force-close the application. What's frustrating is that the 102 files it generated are sitting right behind that error, but I can't get it to go away--it just pops back up when I click OK. I really don't want to lock up this computer for another day when the files are right there!
Â
If I could only find the temporary files on my computer I'd quarantine and recover them on my own. I am a little surprised that no one seems to have asked this on Google (or maybe I just can't find it).

Where does Photoshop put its open, unsaved files?
I am using Photoshop Elements 11 on Mac OSX Mountain Lion and want to store my catalog on a local network drive (FreeNAS). I have encountered many problems while attempting to do this. Then I noticed in the Elements Organizer help, under the section "Repair a catalog", the following: "Note: (Mac OS) You cannot access catalogs present on a network drive."
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm really enjoying the new Generate feature in Photoshop CC. Any way to change the location where the generated assets are stored.
Â
As you know Generate creates a folder in the same location as your PSD which is logical but I work in a studio where we are collaborating on web projects and it would be ideal if the generated assets were being saved to a web project's image folder instead of the location where we keep our PSD mock-ups.
I have 26,000 images on an external drive (currently designated drive M), almost all tagged and/or rated and indexed in two PSE 11 catalogs on the main PC hard drive. I am just about to replace my PC. I assume that when I connect my external drive to the new PC, it is unlikely to be Drive M. How do I maintain access through the catalogs with all the stored information?

PSB files are stored (in the Windows OS) in the User's Temp folder. My Temp folder has a dozen or so PSB files with various dates. Is there a reason they don't go away when a PSD file is saved? Vestiges of PS crashes? Same questions for Smart Object PSB files.
