Photoshop :: Macintosh CS Font

I downloaded a sweet font FFXSpiran.ttf. As we all know, Macontosh reads dfont and so on.
Well, magically, the font works great in Painter IX, but will not show up in PSCS. I used my FontBook to disable quite a few fonts(that's what they said to do at Adobe.Com), well, it didn't work, or I wouldn't be here.
I can select it from the font menu in the program, but when I go to type anything, it's blank. When I move away from the text layer, it will display the letters I typed, but it's still blank. It's quite frustrating.

I've been using my trial of Photoshop CS6 Extended for 10 days now. I have run into a peculiar problem - when saving a file Photoshop does not display any sort of icon. No thumbnail, no generic, nothing. It's not a huge problem, I can always open the image but not by double-clicking on the icon: it's just not there.

i have been trying to create mac desktop icons using the "Photoshop PICT Resource File" and it works all right, but i lose any transparency one the image is saved.
I have tried using various icon programs (IconBuilder, etc) but they never seem to work for me.
Since i am on a Mac, standerd icon programs just dont cut it, because im looking to create high-quality icons like those found on Pixel Girl (a great resource for both Mac + Windows Icons).
I am far from a beginner, but i can't seem to find any tutuorials that apply to this topic.

I had to do a clean install (Archive and Install) recently on my Macintosh (450 MHz PowerPC G4, 1.25 GB SDRAM, OSX 10.4.11) and found afterwards that the drag-and-drop capabilities of Photoshop (CS2, version 9.0.2) were no longer available. In addition to this,
I'm now not able to edit original graphics in Photoshop through the links palette in InDesign (CS2, version 4.0.5). I've searched through the Previous System folder that Archive and Install left, but don't know enough to recognize the software component(s) necessary to solve this problem.

Take action to make Kodak Plug Ins possible for Macintosh CS6.Aparently, they are unable to integrate them into the new version of Photoshop without your participation.
be aware that our Plug-Ins are 32-bit. CS5 allowed for our Plug-Ins to be installed in 32-bit mode on the Mac, but this was not offered for CS6. You might check with Adobe to see if they will offer this in future.We are currently evaluating the possibility of updating our Kodak Professional Image Enhancement Plug-Ins to 64-bit, but have no definite plans as of now. Please periodically visit our website for any updates to our plug-in availability.

Can I rename my Macintosh HD Hard Drive? I had a recent problem with After Effects not loading. It's a brand new iMac and had a clean install of Adobe Production Premium CS6. I do have a few plugins installed that I purchased from Video Co-Pilot and Mocha AE. But I can't imagine those plug-ins were the culprit. However, I did rename my Hard Drive prior to the not-loading problem.
Could renaming my Macintosh HD have had an effect on that?

When I make a text, and if I like to change the font style how can I do this with out having to click on the new font,
every time I choose a different font I have to click on that font, and if I don't like I have to click on a different one
I like to do it like in Flash MX I move the pointer over the list of fonts and may text change the font style with out click on it

I've a problem with "DWGtoPDF"-Plotter of Acad2013. I give the textstyle "arial" in Acad and plot it to PDF. In the PDF-Sheet i see the Fontname "ArialMT" in the document-options. I want to give the PDF's away and fear, that he gets an error while opening.

After opening a file from another designer, this Chinese font has taken over my "omens – regular" font file. Anytime I use it, it converts to this font and each time I need to change a font weight, I must do it manually. As you can imagine, I use our company font all day so this slows me down quite a bit. Have you heard of this? It seems like some sort of font virus. I've researched removing it, yet can't seem to find the original font file to get rid of, which is even weirder."
We tried moving the font family to the trash, emptying the trash, rebooting the machine, and re-adding the font family and it still is happening.

I had posted in another thread about wanting to clean up a signature and make it look more font like. I tried that and it seemed to be pretty difficult due to the amount of random in a hand written signature.
So I think I'd like to approach this from the other direction. I have a font I like but I don't want it to look like the font (way too common). Is there a way to alter the font (not the entire font set or even to create a new font but just for a one word Logo)?
I'd ideally like to connect two of the letters and also modify the shapes of the letters just a bit.

Is there a way to specify a given system font that should be substituted for a given missing font? For example, the document I'm working with contains CourierStd and CourierStd-Bold which are not installed on my system. I would like to set Illustrator so that any time a document that contains these fonts is opened, Courier New and Courier New Bold are substituted automatically.

I'm wondering if there is a Font Preview plugin available that will do what Illustrator SHOULD HAVE done for many years - which is to actually allow you to toggle through your font list and display the text you entered in the fonts you are clicking through - - kind of like what CorelDraw has had for the last 15 years.
Imagine that... being able to review text in a selected font to facillitate the selection of an appropriate visual reference for logos, etc. Earth-shaking, I know.it seems there would be an Illustrator plugin by now that would do this???
Or do I have to continue to have CorelDraw opened up so that I can review text in various fonts to determine the best choice for a given project font?

I am getting an error in Adobe Photoshop CS6 on first one computer and now another one, I took a screenshot of what's happening... For some reason, in the character palette, it wont allow me to upsize the px size above 22.97px. And this is happening on two different computers. I've restarted, updated, tried everything. Once I select the font and try to upsize or downsize the type, it won't allow me to go above that number.

What is U55-normal? I thought this was Universe 55.
On a Mac it is showing up as U55-normal and when I try to open the Mac photoshop files on a PC it says the font is missing. What is going on.
I have Universe 55 installed on PC but it shows up only as Universe 55 Roman in photoshop.
