Photoshop :: Logo To Mercury Blob Challenge

I have to make a chrome or mercury effect logo melt in a liquid fashion into a central blob (kind of like T2 effect) i have tried using 3D studio Max but was too tricky. Then saw some of the excellent animation work done in photoshop and thought some of you guys may be able to help.. If any one has any ideas for Photoshop including plug ins or even max let please let me know. so far ive been using the rain drop tutorial and animation in image ready but its unnatural and jerky..

I am having trouble looking at raw images. A previous program( Minolta's DIVU), that I have since uninstalled, keeps opening my raw files even though I have all extensions ending in raw to open in PS 8.
When I do go into PSCS and access my photos that I have on a CD, I double click on a raw image and then up pops, full screen, DiMAGE pict 301.mrw. Its so large that I have to ctl/alt/del, just to get it to close and of course this closes out PS. So that means that PCSC is actually calling DiMAGE Viewer for the .crw files. I don't have the Minolta's image viewer and I went into add/remove programs to get rid of it.
My RAW file extensions are looking to PSCS, and I have upgraded at Adobe's web site and I have the newer 2.2 Camera Raw Update.

Title reflects what i think i need to use. What i want to do is bend an image to fit within the line drawing below see images attached.
i know it can be done many othre ways but im only interseted here in getting to grips with the displace filter so once i get to grips with the basics i can apply it to much more colpex shapes i.e mapping an image onto a folded dress.. I know i use a gradiated B+W psd. but im not sure what values i need to insert..

trying to recreate the mercury/liquid chrome-ish effect I created a while ago. The effect is based loosely off of the other picture I have attached. Note that the mercury picture is a quarter the size of the original (to shrink the file size. Also, any other methods for creating mercury effects would be great.

I'm trying to make a logo that has a really cool metal effect, not just text. I want to be able to make a 3d shape, that looks like it's made of melting metal, or some other cool metal effect. Then I want to be able to put a text logo on it that looks like it's embossed into the metal.

I'm using Adobe Premiere Pro CS6.0.3, and when I updated my OS to 10.9 Maverick, I began to experience several problems, including:

The dreaded spinning beachball and "Premiere not responding." "This project was last used with Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration (CUDA) which is not available on your system. Mercury Playback Engine Software Only will be used.Video files - I think they were all .MOV - became "squished" to the top of the Program Monitor (movie only took up about 1/3 of program monitor window). After a long chat with Adobe Support, he indicated that the update to 10.9 Maverick was the problem, so I:

Updated to Premiere 6.0.5, but that did not fix any of the issues.Logged in as "Root," which worked for a while but I also received 3 "Premiere encountered problem and must shut down."Deleted preferences, repaired permissions, basic troubleshooting practices, etc, but problems persisted.Â

Eventually I restored my computer from a Time Machine backup to a day prior to the OS 10.9 update, and this seemed to fix all the issues. So I was back to Mac 10.8.5 and Premiere 6.0.3.

But the .MOV-compressed-in-the-program-monitor problem began to surface again (see photo below).

So I updated to Premiere to 6.0.5 (but not my OS - it's still 10.8.5), and the "Mercury Playback Engine" error is back.

And the .MOV files are still compressed in the Program Monitor. I have a project that I completed in 6.0.3, but is now messed up in 6.0.5.

Is the only solution downgrading to Premiere 6.0.3, and if so, must I do a clean install of the program from the DVD?

My setup is a Mac Pro with GTX 680 card for mac.I bought this card, thinking it would do what Adobe advertised: "GPU Rendering - Work faster and take full advantage of your hardware with full GPU acceleration, now included in Adobe Media Encoder."

I want to transcode FullHD H264 to XDCAM HD. GPU acceleration isn't happening. The GPU is idle, while the CPU does all the work. Sure, it I want do de-interlace or downscale to an SD Format, the GPU works. But apparently not for transcoding.

Adobe should not suggest that AME can take full advantage of my hardware, because it can't.

I use nvidia card with cuda support GeForce GTX 650 Ti. I was trying to enable Mercury Playback Engine on Premiere Pro and got this results. It's a footage applied on the top with transparency enabled. On the left side MPE is used. Software only on the right side. Why I get this lower quality with Mercury Playback Engine?

I received a drawing from another consultant that uses C3D 2013. When I open the drawing in C3D 2012 I get the message that it was created in a newer version of C3D so I assume he did a save as to 2010.Â
When I get drawings like this I copy what I need to the clipboard and paste into a new drawing (acad.dwt). This usually works fine. But in this case the drawing is almost 4 MB and contains just one arc. I purged everything I can from the drawing and it is still 3 MB.Â
I looked for but could not find any of the usual suspects: drawing scales, regapps, empty text objects and wipeouts. When I list "all" there is one arc in model space and 4 view ports in paper space. I did notice that there are hundreds of linetypes and text styles that cannot be purged.Â
I tried export to AutoCAD DWG 2010, 2007, 2004 and 2000 but that didn't work. Export to AutoCAD DWG R14 and DXF R12 both caused C3D to become unresponsive. Saveas to DWG R14 and DXF R12Â caused C3D to become unresponsive.Â

I have been searching for a way of exporting multiple polyline or spline coordinates to txt file and all I can find is ones that write out as a single continuous list of coordinates with nothing denoting which one is which.
I really need it to be able to export each polyline as a group, and I would also love for it to be able to include the number of points and name of the layer e.g. :
polyline 'number of points' 'layername'
0.0 0.0 0.0
1.0 1.0 0.0
2.0 2.0 0.0
polyline 'number of points' 'layername'
0.0 0.0 0.0
1.0 4.0 0.0
2.0 8.0 0.0
and so on.....

I had to rebuild my computer with new everything. I need to load CS2 back onto the "new" computer. I purchased the full program (PS7, 2003) and have upgraded since then. I DO NOT have my original program disk, just the Upgrade CS2 disk, with a valid serial number. I contacted Adobe and they told me there would be no problem as all of my purchases were on file, BUT, I needed to call Customer Service because the process is time sensitive.
I called and spoke to someone told me to do several things to make a "challenge code" appear and then he could give me a number to type in to unlock the upgrade disk so it would load this one time. He told me to browse the disk, select "Adobe(R) Photoshop(R) CS2 instmsia.exe" and the type UNLOCK=1 and press run...
it did not work; so he told me to get rid of the (R)'s, but that did not work; then he told me to put the (R)'s back in, but it did not work. If it did work, I was to type in "Control-Shift" and double click on the screen. When it didn't work, he told me to "work on it myself until I could get the challenge code and then call back?"

I am attempting to use the blob brush for the first time, but I can't seem to save my files; the programs crashes on save.Â

Seems very strange! I am working with CS 5 on Windows 7. i have successfully saved files that don't use the blob brush. I haven't done an exhaustive investigation into similar scenarios that might also cause a crash at save. I tested a few stable files, including renaming them. When I introduce the blob brush, the file crashes at save.

i need to draw with different sizes and different tablet pen response settings, sometimes very large others smaller others very small. Is there the possibility to keep all the different settings as like different brushes or styles? or is there an other way to avoid me to go to the the blob brush setting windows each time i need to replace the old settings?

I am using Illustrator CS5 Blob Brush Tool with a Wacom Cintiq tablet. I would like to be able to vary brush size by assigning a keyboard shortcut to the express keys or touch strip of the tablet. The only keyboard short-cut I can find is Shift+B. which just takes me to the Blob Brush Tool window. Is there a way to vary brush size on the fly by using up/down arrows, etc.?

On digital tutors i learned that the blob brush size can be changed interactively. But since i use a mac in combination with a cintiq and a swiss german keyboard i cannot use the bracket keys.
They also don't work when i assign the us keyboard settings. How can the brush size of the blob brush be changed interactively?

I'm trying to figure out a small problem I have with creating a Blob-like form. I've created a mass by creating a form out of six (two per level) reference lines. The Form comes out nice, but whenever I divide the form, the two created surfaces don't align with each other. Therefore, when I create curtain walls or patterns on this form, they don't match up either.

I have Illustrator CS4. I have created an object with the Blob Brush and filled with gradient color. When I try to add the object it will not be gradient, only a new object with a solid color. Does this not work in CS4?

when I browse image files I find that the Photoshop/Adobe logo has been replaced by the Netscape logo. When I attach a file in email the N-scape logo is there by file name/number not Photoshop logo. Anyone know why or have this issue?

I'm having a problem with the Blob Brush tool where I can't change the basic brush to something else. Whenever I pick a brush I want and I try draw with the Blob Brush tool, the brush I picked reverts back to the basic brush. Here are screenshots:
