View 2 RepliesI renamed a lot of my photo folders in Explore. Now in LR4, all these folders appears with an ?. I can't work on pictures from these folders - I get the message: File named xxx is offline or missing. It does not sync the parent folder. Nor does it sync the folder it self. If I right clik on a LR4 folder with a ?, and try to locate the folder, I only get the option to merge the identical folders. Is there any way to sort this. I can't restore the old folder names.

When browsing images from Photoshop (ctr+o) the default view seems to be to display images within a folder in the "List" style (as opposed to "Tiles", "Icons", "Thumbnails" ect.). I'd really like to have them displayed as "Thumbnails" every time I browse images from PhotoShop, thus not having to change the view each time, but I can't seem to figure out to set "thumbnails" as the default view.
This is probably more an operating sysytem question than Photoshop but hopefully someone knows the remedy to this mild annoyance.
I downloaded a trial version of PSE 12 to my mac, and imported my photo folders. It looks like PSE has renemed all my folder with strings of letters and characters. How can I retrieve my original folder names, or figure out how to identify the folders PSE has created?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI am trying to copy photos from one folder to another, leaving them in the original folder and have them show in the organizer in the new folder.
I find I can duplicate the photo and then drag and drop it, but each step takes literally a minute to complete (in explorer it is 1 second or less). To move a hundred photos one at a time to different folders would take quite a while.
so I tried to pull them in from the FILE button get new files and it won't because the photo exists in another folder in the catalog.
How can you have the organizer show photos in multiple folders, is it possible

View 9 Replies View RelatedI want to view folders in library to make sorting easier but my template of folders (created in Finder) will not show. Before I cull my images, I'd like to be able to sort/shove specific images into specific folders before culling. It appears that the only way to see these folders is to have an image in them.
How do I get these folders to appear in Library?
Is there a way to have the organizer folders set up the same was as Windows Explorer? I have a main folder called Family with sub folders for all the years and in each of the subfolders there could be other subfolders. It wouldn't allow me to click on main folder and get all sub folders. I had to open main folder and then it shows all folders and sub folders separately. They are no longer nested.
Along the same lines, I wanted to create an album of Family with all subfolders, but that doesn't work.that is definitely a short coming which is why I never have used the organizer program, but just PSE for editing.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm doing it in Excel, but it's a monstrous job to create hyperlinks to hundreds of photo titles to view them, one, by one, by one.I can't automate it in Excel for mac.
I've tried automate and macros, but none will simply:take the selected photo-title from the list, copy and paste it into a search box, find the photo, select it, and generate a hyperlink.
I'd like to find some software that would make it possible to link up photo titles to their files to view in Preview without doing it one by one. All the photos are in the same folder with names like 0001.jpg, 0002.jpg. It ought to be easier than this.
PSE 10 - Selected pictures will not show up in folder view, but others do. All show up in thumbnail view. In thumnail view under properties it shows the photos as being in the folder, however they don't appear. Double checked hd- they are there. Tried reconnect- says there are none missing.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI am using LR3. I appear to be digging a massive hole for myself trying to sort out the catalog. When I first got LR, I had initially added just a small number of files just to see how LR worked. At this time I was still completing sorting out my full photo collection in 'my pictures' which were also copied to two external hard drives. Once that work was completed, I imported a complete folder (some 4000 images) into LR. The folder/subfolders appeared in the folders panel but the sub folders I had initially imported were displayed with a ? and a message 'file is missing or offline' Going down the road of 'find missing folder' eventually led to my problems.
About 6 sub folders are involved so I eventually took the decision that it could be easier just to remove them so I could then re-import them from 'my pictures'. That hasn't worked out as planned. When I go into 'file' to import photos from 'my pictures' the missing sub folders are there but the images are 'greyed' as well as the import button. When I put the cursor onto one of the greyed-out images the message 'appears to be a duplicate of another photo already in catalog' appears.
how I can restore the 'missing' sub folders into the folders panel.

Basically, how can I drag a photo that is 4x6 over to a new doc while keeping the size at 4x6.
