I was wondering if you could tell me a bit more about the JPEG2000 option window.
I want to know what Wavelet Filters (float and integers) and Tile size refers to, what it is and what it technically (but simply put) does. I found some info on the web, but it's really technical and I lack some background to understand what it means.
I got a new computer (Windows 7) at work this April and as of today, when I work on any of my JPEG images in PS CS5,suddenly it has defaulted its "Save As" to JPEG2000. How did this default change and how do I get it to default save as. JPEG again? There was nothing I noticed and no warning as to why this has changed, I didn't touch a thing!
(Last week, Adobe had to work with our IT manager to fix a problem that started occuring with my new Adobe Acrobat Pro 11 program. They had to log into my computer and change a registry thing to get it to work properly again...also something that changed without warning!!)
I have CS2 and have loaded the plug-in for Jpeg 2000. I now find that I cannot save as an ordinary Jpeg. I know that 2000 et al is superior but a Jpeg2000 file cannot be read by many of the people I am in contact with re: family history.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am using a down loaded upgrade of Photoshop CS3. Since I don't have the CD, I tried to use the JPEG 2000 plug in from my CS CD, but CS3 doesn't seem to recognize it. Should the plug in from CS work in CS3? I have tried unsuccessfully to find the plug in as a down load.

When I open a single file and "Save as" JPEG-2000 with the lossless option checked, the result is truly lossless. But when I record this as an Action and then Automate/Batch this action, the output is not saved as lossless.
in lightroom 5 is it possible to import jpeg 2000 photos? if so, how?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using PSCS2, in WinXP Pro. I use RAW + JPG option in my digital camera. After RAW processing I save my files as TIFF, in case I feel I want to do further post processing in PSCS2. When I am through processing the image in photoshop, I save the completed file as a .jpg file, to save disk space. Today I processed a number of RAW format photos and as usual saved them as .tif files, for further processing in photoshop, if deemed necessary. Today when I was through processing in photoshop, the .jpg extension is not one of the options when I go to Saved As - the only JPEG option is a JPEG2000 format with .jpf extension. why I no longer have the .jpg option, when I am saving the processed .tif file?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've just upgraded from Photoshop7 to CS2 and have noticed that the 'link' option have been removed from the 'Layer Window' (the little box which was next to the 'eye' that you could check to select certain layers and then manipulate those particular layers together like free transform, flatten etc.)
I normally use this feature alot and cannot find another way of doing it, is it possible to reinstate this feature or does anyone know a way of still doing this within CS2?
When saving a file and or "Save as Copy" , we get a popup box to choose the location of our file.
After doing this we get "JPEG Option"
My question is about this JPEG Option. I wish to know if I can default this setting so it won't pop up evertime I save a file.
I've been using Photoshop for about 10 years now and I never realized how I get to perform 2 action rather then 1 when saving a file.
I wish I could default the JPEG options , because I always leave it on the same settings anyway.
Just got/learning PS CS2. I noticed when I first loaded CS2, I had an option to save as .JPEG. A few days later, the option disappeared. Even when I open an original .JPEG, the Save As option does not display .JPEG as an option. For web work, I need to be able to quickly save to .JPEG (from the save as option) and I can't figure out why it is not available. I do have the Save for Web option, but it take a bit longer to use.

Is there a way, using the _keyboard_, to select or toggle whether I want the window to resize when I use the zoom tool? I often want to go back and forth between asking for the resize and prohibiting it, but I don't want to have to go up with the mouse to click on that little check box all the time.

For example: If i want to create a polygonal primitives cylinder, according to the tutorial an option window should appear where i can change the attributes, but it does not appear for me. I have to change the attributes from the channel box. I have already unchecked the Interactive Creation option as it says. I tried resetting MAYA, but no luck.

I even opened one of yesterday's camera files and tried to save that as a JPEG, and still didn't see the option. All I get is something called .xcf.
I looked at the tutorial, and it said to make sure the mode was set to RGB. It was; I'd never changed this. It seems I've broken something, but I don't know where to look in order to fix it.
I have just installed Elements 12. I went to open some jpeg images. They appear in the Photo Bin but can't be made to appear in the main window. The Layer Panel shows the background copy of the images.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI use the Map function within Civil 3D 2012 to export municipal GIS data from shp files, for our base plans. One of the clean-up functions is to convert the text exported from GIS to an appropriate text style suitable for the project. To do this, I would select the text, use the select similar command, then update the text style in the properties window. This process has worked well when using Civil 3D 2010 and 2011, however, I have noticed in 2012 the "style" option is not available.
Not sure what I mean, have a look at the two attachments. Notice in the C3D 2012 image, there is no "style" option, while the C3D 2010 image includes the 'style" option. I submitted this bug to our reseller, who was able to replicate this error. Our reseller submitted this to Autodesk, who was also able to replicate this error. What is interesting is if I open the drawing that contains the map exported data from C3D 2012 in either 2010 or 2011 versions, the "style" option is available, just not in 2012. This leads me to believe the issue is not with the data or the export functionality of 2012, the issue is with 2012 displaying the data property. Autodesk has forwarded this issue to their developers, no indication of when or if it will be resolved for Civil 3D 2012.
My workaround for now is to use Civil 3D 2010 for the drawing cleanup functions. Fortunately I am able to have previous versions of Civil 3D installed, since I am on subscription. My advice is when upgrading, do not remove your previous versions if you are on subscription, you may need to use it one day.
I have installed both version 2.6.11 and also version 2.4.7 of the Windows version of Gimp that I have downloaded from here [URL]
When I launch Gimp, and select File / Open from the main menu, neither TIF/TIFF nor JPG/JPEG files are listed when "All Images" is selected in the file type drop-down listbox. If I select "All Files", and then select either a TIFF or JPEG file, then an error message appears stating "Unknown file type". The specific types listed in the file type drop down list box include:
GIMP XCF image (*.xcf)
bzip archive (*.xcf.bz2, *.bz2, *.xcfbz2)
Dexktop Link (*.desktop)
G3 fax image (*.g3)
GIF image (*.gif)
gzip archive (*.xcf.gz, *.gz, *.xcfgz)
Photoshop image (*.psd)
I have read here: [URL] that, "Some of the file types, such as JPEG and TIFF, require extra libraries (described elsewhere)." I have no idea where "elsewhere" is.
I have completely uninstalled, rebooted, and reinstalled both version 2.6.11 and 2.4.7 with the exact same results each time. The program otherwise works as advertized, with no errors or problems that I am aware of.
Am I missing something here? All indications are that GIMP (Even the Windows version) natively supports TIFF / TIF and JPEG / JPG files, but that is certainly not my experience!
I am specifically interested in opening TIFF / TIF files.
While exporting the document as jpeg, through File->Export, there is an option "Embed ICC Profile" as figure shows.
How to set it if I am exporting the document through my program in which I rasterize the document and used the sAIImage->AsJPEG(raster, jpegDataFilter, params); I didn't find any option in AIRasterizeSettings or AIImageOptJPEGParams to set this flag.
When I try to load up PS 7.0, it gets as far as "Initializng color preferences," and then just blinks off. I've rebooted and re-installed the prog, with no success.
(Obviously, or I wouldn't be here, yes?)
My ImageReady loads up fine, so I tried the "jump to" command to bring an image over to PS.
I get a response that it cannot jump because "Photoshop is not responding."
My OS is Windows 2000.
I'm working in Cs5 and I need to speed up my working process. So I have about 2000 images that I wanna print. I'm going to print them on A3 and on each A3 page I want to have 21 images. So it's a very simple process of just minimizing the pictures and putting them side by side, but almost 2000 pictures.
