Photoshop :: Change Color Of Area And Have Instant Update
Jun 19, 2013Is there a way to change color of an area and have instant update while I'm still in the color picker dialogue?
background info:
I need to paint my house and I want to color the house in Photoshop first to test the color scheme. Currently I set it up so the house is first turned into gray scale, then a color layer is multiply or soft light onto the house to "paint" the house while retaining features of the house. There are several such color layers, each with a layer mask for the walls, the trims, and the garage door.
When I want to change the color of, say the walls, I select that layer and fill it with a new color. But I don't see the new color until I exited the color picker and the fill dialogues. Is there a more interactive way to change color?

All of the placeholders except the first one are flat rectangular images which are easily replaceables, the first one that is a 3d Type of rectangle with a slant. How to replace it. Feb 4, 2013I just installed CS6, and I'm having serious problems w/ a few things. Mainly this issue:
As you can see, every time I create an object, a stroke is added to it. And you can also see on the layers path, a small little box is also added. Here's the weird part, when I try and change the images color, I get a popup saying that this object needs to be "rasterized" before changing the color. Then when the color changes, it changes the shape object to what i need it to be.

Quite annoying when I'm trying to see the effects of the Smart Fix. I have to refind the photo and zoom in again. I'd like to stay where i was until i get a chance to look at the corrections. Jan 6, 2013I have a question regarding illustrator. Let's say I have a circle with blue fill and red stroke. And I place an image in the illustrator file. Now I want to change the red stroke of my circle to let's say a purple color by sampling the color from the image.
How can I achieve that with a eye dropper tool? Every time when I try to sample a color from the image, the whole circle will change to purple instead of just the stroke? I have tried multiple key combination, shift, alt, ctrl but they all don't work.

May 22, 2013How I choose a color for any new objects I want to create. I've opened the toolbox with ctrl-b, which appears on the left side of the window. If I want to , for example, draw a red rectangle, I use the rectangular selection tool, then the bucket fill, and I don't see how to change the foreground color to red.
I've read elsewhere in the forum that there should be two rectangles somewhere on the screen that show foreground and background color, but I don't see them anywhere.

Sep 23, 2011Is there anyway to insert these projects to the timeline at any random spot, versue the defaults to place at the beginning or end? Seems so limited that you only have those options. If you edit forward and only add material to the timeline as you need it, then it is no big deal to insert to the end... but if you add all your material to the timeline at once and then decide "oh, lets use an instant project here" then it is difficult to place in the middle.
I've copied some of the images in the templates to my library so that I could mimic those effects ( copy same attibutes to a clip) at anytime I want... just seems like there must be an easier way.

Mar 28, 2013I had videostudio 4x which was upgraded from 2x on a laptop computer. I recently got a new desktop and loaded the X4 on that. The laptop has many files listed to choose from when I go to the instant projects. They are listed under the drop-down menus "beginning", "middle", "end", "complete", etc. There are probably 20-40 choices for each drop-down choice.
On my new install, there is only 1 choice on each. I did not purchase any add on templates. How do I get the others back? Is there a way to transfer them from the laptop?I tried loading some templates from the help button/do more tab and downloaded and installed the templates there, but got only some very simple templates that went under the "custom" drop-down menu.
Was there some free template pack that I downloaded or got on the original X2 disk, or X4 downloaded program that I did not install to the new computer or that I downloaded after installing the X4?
