View 1 RepliesI recently purchased Photoshop and Premiere Elements 12.
I want to create a professional slide show for Maximum Quality output for an HD monitor for an upcoming trade show.
It seems to me based on what I could find on the Adobe website and tutorials that creating my slideshow in Photoshop Elements 12 slideshow maker has limited quality output. You cannot, for example, output to 1920X1080 or even 1440 X 1080.
This leads me to consider Premiere Elements for a more manual slideshow construction. My idea is to create each individual slide, custom, (in high quality jpeg) with great care in Photoshop Elements with very large (high quality) frame sizes (they say up to 4096 x 4096), I was thinking more like double 1920X1080, ie: 3096X2160. I imagine that this will guarantee covering the entire monitors real estate, guarantee continuity between all slides, and display an over all professional look. (Even though this is much more work than just whipping a bunch of jpegs of various sizes into Photoshop Elements Slideshow creator).
Once I have all of my custom slides in that large size, my idea is I'll import each one and then use Premier Elements to drive the slide show functionality and ultimately the high resolution export file for application.
Am I on the right track here? Is there some standard guildlines and tools in the industry for me to consider before I attempt to create my first professional slide show?
I am new to photoshop and am curious to see what quality setting others use when saving photos as jpeg The size difference between saving at 10 and 12 is almost 3 times the size, I see no quality loss when saving at quality 10.
I have some photos that are original size of around 5mb, after editing the photos saving at quality 10 gives a file size of around 5mb while quality 12 a file size of around 12mb-15mb.
I have opened a jpeg as Camera Raw (7.3) and adjusted it and wanted to save it as jpeg, but the only option is *.dng?
View 3 Replies View RelatedFrom what I can make of it, lossy is the option on GIF files, and therefore I am assuming that the optimisation is lossless for a JPEG at 100 percent quality and lossy when the quality is reduced?I just want to clarify that I am saving images for the web at the smallest size I can without losing too much quality.
All the images I save are 450px wide @ 75 dpi, but vary in length from 800px high to 1500px high, but have to be saved under 100kb. lossless and lossy in JPEG format in save for web?
I would like to save a downloaded webpage (html file) as a jpeg so that I can edit it in photoshop elements. How do I do that?
View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen saving a jpeg it gives the option of inserting a number on quality. I have mine auto set to 10 but I have no idea whether 1 is better or worse or what number I should be putting in to preserve the original quality?
View 6 Replies View Related when saving an image as a JPEG I would click "Save As", select my folder and the Image Quality dialog box would pop up and I would then select 12/Maximum as the image quailty and hit "OK". Thereafter, every time I saved an image, Photoshop applied the same settings as the previous save i.e., 12/Maximum was pre-selected and I would just hit OK and move to my next image.
However, since yesterday Photoshop is no longer pre applying the last setting used and is defaulting to quality 8/High every time. Si everytime I save, I am now having to slide the slider to 12 which is kind of interrupting my work flow.
I have tried delete my preferences settings in the hope that this glitch would be fixed by resetting the program, but the problem persists.
I downloaded the trial version of pro 4x and love the video clarity and smoothness....even running at 60FPS. However, when I try to start editing with the "Instant Project", I start to have issue.
1. The intro is fine.....very smooth
2. However, when it gets to the video portion, the quality and "shuddering" of the vidoe is horrible.
When you reduce the image quality of a jpeg image , How exactly is it reducing the quality? is it applying file compression , reducing bit depth or is it reducing the sampling rate of the image? or anything close to the above....

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just tried to create Pdf.
I used high quality jpegs and chose a 100% quality setting and at 300 dpi.
I also chose the same pixel dimensions as the original documents.
But the outcome is blurry - as if the original had been highly compressed. The sum of the sizes of all files is about 40% larger than the final pdf file.
How can I get rid of this compression and create a pdf document whose pages are as sharp and high quality as the original?
A while back I took a Photoshop class and remember a lesson on where you could select a region of an image and save it for the web with a high quality and select another region of the same image and save it for the web with a low quality, so that the focal point was saved with a high quality and the background was saved with a low quality. I have no idea where my notes are from this class and can not remember at all how to do this. Can anyone direct me to a tutorial about this?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've worked on a photo that I'd like to save in JPEG format, I've read the replies to previous queries which say to change to 8 bit, when I click on image, 8 bit is greyed out and not accessible. Every time I try to change to JPEG I keep getting an error message. I'm currently evaluating this program, but if I can only use the images I've altered within the program then it's not going to work for me.

Can this be done in elements and if so what settings should I use.

I am changing from PSE8 to PSE12 and realized upon trying 12 today that PSE12 automatically saves my edited pictures in PSD format where PSE8 saved them in JPEG. I don't use the organizer for catalogs, instead opening up folders where I've saved my pictures (e.g. Christmas 2013)and editing the photos I like in PSE8 and then saving them back in that same folder. It may not be the 'right' way, but it works for me. The picture I tried using PSE12 on, saved in the PSD format which isn't viewable in those folders (windows picture viewer is the default). I truly only use PSE for improving pics I like and want to share/email, use as my desktip background, post to Facebook, and print for myself or gifts via uploading to a photo printing service (Mpix, Walmart, etc.) Is there a way to have PSE12 default to saving as JPEG or should I be saving everything as PSD? I get that PSD only works with PS and takes more space, but doesn't cause loss of quality of the pictures the way JPEG does ~ I'm just not sure it's important for the way I use PSE. \
