I am trying to install the trial for CS4 Extended and no matter what I've tried the installation always fails. I am running Vista64 w/ AMD64 5000+ dual core and 4 GB RAM. Any ideas on how I can get the installation to actually install the program? It doesn't give me any specific error code, it just says that my installation failed and asks me to restart my computer and try again.
View 4 RepliesI am trying to install CS3 on a new Macbook Pro Retina 13" with Mavericks. All of the CS3 apps except Photoshop installed correctly. Photoshop fails and when I try to launch it returns a message that it cannot be initialized because the disk is not available. I have tried reinstalling it and the installation fails. I tried launching the old copy from the previous computer's disk (now in USB enclosure) and I get the same error message. I tried copying it over to the new HD without success. Tried phone support because it's an older version. CS3 is supposed to be compatible with Mavericks. Since the older copy and the new installation return the same message, I suspect (just a guess) some software issue, perhaps prefs or other files copied over from the old installation.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI get a message on my computer that there's an update to install, but when I attempt to install it, it goes through the motions of installing itself, then says it couldn't install itself and that I have to reinstall the original product so that it can install itself. I'm very reluctant to go through the whole installation process all over again, so I'm curious if there's any other way to get these updates. This is a registered product by the way, in my name.

View 1 Replies View RelatedA few months ago I successfully loaded Elements 11 onto my desktop. As we are going on holiday decided to load also onto my laptop. As laptop does not take discs, I decided to download as a trial and then put in serial number. It seemed to download alright but every time I have tried to instal I get the message "Installation failed to initialize".  This has happened many times and I have tried rebooting etc. At one stage they got me to download Adobe Application Manager, but it was not explained, or identified, why. Adobe Application Manager seems to be for more advanced Adobe products. I have also got Adobe Download Assistant, which seems appropriate.

No problem with CS4 re-installation but PSE9 & PRE9 reach almost the end of the installation process, then roll back the installation.

An error occurred while evaluating JavaScript for the package." Not exactly clear. It also displays a warning for my primary drive and for the installer volume.

Apparently the Lightroom installer is complaining about the amount of disk space available. The drive I'm trying to install it has 134 gb of space available.

I just upgraded my iMac (3.06 GHz i3 with 8 GB RAM) to OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2). Tonight I opened Photoshop CS5 for the first time since the OS X upgrade and created a new document (8.5x11 grayscale, 300dpi). Everything was fine until I saved the document, then "saved as" under a different filename. When I tried to re-open the original document, Photoshop immediately quit and continued to quit every time I tried to open the original document. I concluded that the document had gotten corrupted and started over, recreating the document from scratch; but exactly the same thing happened again. Once I saved the original document under a different name, Photoshop immediately quit every time I tried to reopen either the original document or the "saved as" version.

We have uninstalled and re-installed it over a dozen times, even on different hard-drives.
PS CS5 on a Mac OS 10.6.8 I'm working on a document that gives me this message upon opening "ALERT Fonts used in some text layers are not available for activation. You will need to replace these fonts before the layers can be used for vector based output." As soon as I click on the "ok" button.
It crashes. So I don't have any time to change the fonts or make any modifications to the file. It was working fine yesterday and today it's not accessible. Is there a way to restore the file or resave it so that I can get in there and make the final changes and save it for print? Of course it's nearly finished and hours of work have gone in to creating it.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am now getting multiple systems that will not open Photoshop CS 6. As soon as PS starts to open, Application Manager starts and prevents PS from opening. The two applications alternate for control with neither being able to open. This problem is also occurring with Illustrator CS 6 and now has started in Photoshop.Â

When the "fight" starts you have to do a forced shut down (power button for 10 seconds) in order to be able to login. Then Uninstalling the application, either by the Uninstaller of PS or by using the ELA uninstaller created when the Install package is created. Systems are Apple 10.8.2 with Adobe Application Manager Enterprise Created installer for Master Suite.

This has now appeared on six or seven systems of the approximatly 200 that got the install. The applications ran normally with no problems for about two weeks bu now the problems are popping up for no appearent reason.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI scan images to go into my website on a regular basis. I scan them bring them into photoshop, use the marquise tool to move individual images to be corrected and made ready to put in website, then I save them and delete that layer from photoshop. I then go to the next image and when I use the marquise tool the previous image keeps coming on the screen.Â
I am unable to delete permanently that first image so I can move on to the next image. Then I ran into the problem of not being able to more an image from the clipboard. It isn't highlighted so I can click it. Don't know what to do and I have to resolve this ASAP to keep up with my work.Â
I have a Dell Studio 540 desktop running Vista Home Premium. Burner is a PLDS DVD+-RW DH-16A6S ATA Device. I recently burnt 1hr35m mpg to double layered disc without any issue. I then used VSX2 to create DVD using slightly modified menu templates and 12 chapters. I felt the initial stall may have been a glitch so attempted again. The burn stopped once more at 99% complete as indicated in attached jpg.

I first invoke the circle command, choose the 3P option.Â
In my second and subsequent cycles, I click "enter" and have to click "3P" again.
Is there a way my chosen option of "3P" is invoked by default on one or two clicks of the spacebar or enter button?

I'm installing PS CS4 on Visat 64-bit. The first time I tried installing it the setup stopped when it was loading the Language pack for Device Central. I started the installation over again and removed Device central from the install and then started it again. This time it got almost to the end of install but it then stopped again when it was trying to install the Photoshop CS4 English Language Pack_x64.
Has anyone else loading CS4 had this problem in Vista 64-bit?
We have a copy of Adobe Creative Suite 2 installed on one computer that was recently hit with a trojan. The software is still on drive D and is intact. The software was activated a long time ago. Drive C had to be reformatted and the OS reinstalled because of the trojan. I'm trying to reinstall the software since the old registry is gone. I was just going to reinstall over the old version. Since this is an upgrade, it wants the Photoshop 5 CD. We don't know where this is, but we do have the old serial number. When we installed this a few years ago an Adobe tech had us enter a secret keystroke that brought up a box that we could enter the old serial number. I don't remember this keystroke. Q1: Does anyone know the keystroke to enter the old serial number instead of having it search for the CD? Assuming I can enter the old serial number and get past this screen, will a reinstall trash the activation? I do not want to re-activate the product since I assume it will not let me do so. The software was installed and activated on this desktop and on my laptop. I assume it will only let you activate twice. The activation directories are there along with the DAT files, howver. Q2: What can I do to preserve the current activation? And no I can't follow the instructions which would be to launch Photoshop and go to the Help menu and choose Help > Transfer Activation. I can launch Photoshop, but I get an error ""Your Adobe Photoshop user name, organization or serial number is missing or invalid. The application cannot continue and must now exit." The old registry is gone since the OS was reinstalled.

best way to upgrade to CS4?
(1) Delete existing CS2 then install CS4? I prefer this to get a clean
install but do not wish to loose any of my additions.
