Photoshop :: Input/Out Put Values For CYMK Curves
Dec 9, 2003
I'm trying to colorize a black and white picture. (Again) The last time I did it I used the "hue/saturation with colorize." Some of you guys told me that it wasn't the best way to to it and suggested I try using the CYMK and curves instead.
Yellow 46 57
Magenta 42 56

I have some c# code (though it could be any language) and I am trying to copy the colors used therein into an Illustrator design.
Â
Here's the code:
Â
private static readonly Dictionary<string, SolidColorBrush> _DefaultModeColours = new Dictionary<string, SolidColorBrush>
{
[Code]....
Â
The colors are specified using hexadecimal numbers for the ARGB values.
Â
In Illustrator I have the following color chooser:
Â
I could fire up a calculator and convert each of the (nonobvious) hex values into decimal, but I imagine there is an easy way to change the Illustrator settings for the document to use hex values. Is there? If so where do I set it?

I want to know is it possible to preserve the color scheme of RGB into CMYK? I mean when we switch from RGB to CYMK, some changes in colors do occur. If it's not possible to protect the RGB colors entirely, is it possible to contain the change to the minimum?

I eventually want to physically print a comic book. The printer across the street basically said that commercial printing mean CMYK colors. So, should I simply create and save my work in CMYK, or use RGB and then convert, assuming that the colors translate perfectly each time? Is there an advantage to either way? Disadvantage?

I was wondering if y'all might be able to help me. My printer always wants images in CYMK format, but whenever I work in CYMK many of the filters are unavailable to me. I'm using P/S CS. Is this a problem with my particular install or is this something others have found? I tried to search through forums for answers but I came up with nothing.
A graphic designer friend of mine says he works in P/S 5 and all his filters are available regardless of color format. It wouldn't be a big deal but when you change from say RGB to CYMK at the end of your work it changes the colors and some of the effects of the work itself. Anyways, thanks in advance for any advice you may have.

I am preparing a batch of images for test submission, for a stock photo library.Recently a person working for one of the visual effects studios in London happened to tell me that these strict agencies use some set of layers that can separate tonality and color values to check for banding, dirtiness, noise and all those technical flaws that the human eye can't notice on a monitor. He said they perhaps have an action for it so that they can review faster.
He said that it is known as 'Craze Curves' or 'Visibility Curves' technique. He further added that all the studios use it before giving the final files to clients so that there is no issue in printing afterwards. It is sort of a quality control check and has been used by digital and advertising agencies all over the world.
But now his email seems to have changed and I can't get in touch with him to know how to use the technique.

My need is to create up to 50 points from the same origin in a three dimensional Cartesian coordinate system but I’d also like to have a labels for each point that show up in the feature tree.
Are there Inventor 2013 plugin (i.e., add-on, 3rd party, AP) to convert a list 3D Cartesian coordinate system locations (i.e., points) to Inventor to work points(x, y, z)?
I found that I cannot create 3D points in the assembly. Is this correct? I did find that an Inventor part may be used to create a 3D sketch that creates points in 3D space. In the past few days, I found two ways to create 3D points within a iPRT; the batch way uses an Excel file but it then does not allow me to name the points in the feature tree. The second way is to create them one at a time but that take way too much time.Â

I'm trying to show, using the eyedropper tool, the actual values of pixels in an 8-bit grayscale image (Mode command confirms that's what's there). In the Info panel, the eyedropper tool displays percentages for every type of color information (K, CMYK), while the "8-bit" field remains blank.

I converted a large document from RGB to CYMK (File | Document Color Mode). I'd like to select all of the text that was RGB(0,0,0) and is now CMYK(75.02,67.97,67.02,90.16) so I can change it to CMYK(0,0,0,100). I think the magic wand is the way to do this (correct me if I'm wrong).
Â
I have text in a dozen or more text areas. Many of the text areas overflow text into another text area. Some of the text in the text areas is "black" but there is also text with other colors that I'd like to remain unchanged.
Â
For example, I'd like to select all of the black text in the following two text areas without selecting the red text. I thought that I could click on the black text and have all the black text (but not the red text), selected, but the entire text box is selected (and nothing in the second text box is selected). Can the wand select some text within several text boxes? If not, how should I go about changing the black?

i have a deadline approaching to create a brochure. I have been using illustrator to create my page designs using a combination of photography and vector work and was wondering if i select everything within the document and convert to cymk wether this has indeed converted everthing including the Photos. I was also wondering is it best to save my files as PDF's before importing into Indesign to reduce file size or will the quality be better if an ai. file? It is a 200 page brochure and i am the sole designer as an intern at a travel company

Is there a way to have no layer value set for the description keys. I set all the layers, and now I realize I'd rather set this to no layers (boxes are all unchecked). I'd rather see no value under the layer column, but there doesn't seem like a way to set this.Â

Converting the standard RGB file to CYMK is a simple click, it looks the same on screen, but there is a huge color shift when it's printed. Everything is much more blue and with more contrast. I've worked with the different color models trying to adjust my image to get it more close to the original, but it's not going so well.

I'm getting input lag (about 1-2 seconds) after about an hour of work. Specificly anything I do to a document (pan, brush, clone, move etc). If I restart photoshop, it goes away, but comes back after an hour or so. How do I fix this? I'm running winxp, ive tried turning my anti virus off. I've turned the gpu stuff on and off. History states are at 100 and 6 cache levels. This is a quad core with 2 gigs of ram.

In CS5.5 and previous, when text was selected/highlighted you could just click in the font size box and type in the size you wanted. This appears to be gone in CS6.If the text layer is selected you can but if you double click the type to go in and edit it, i can't input and manual font size value.... i can only choose from the default options. This is very hard to work around if you have specific sizes your fonts need to be & if there is more than one size i the same layer.how to get rid of the annoying placeboard/brandground that is in CS6. I'd like to get it back to how it was i.e no backgroud.

I have a problem with the 3D brush cursor in PS CC being offset and not where I'm putting the pen down. Best described by a vid which is here: URL....
Â
The capture is a bit laggy so both brushes look a little delayed, in reality the CS6 cursor paints exaclty where you'd expect it to, the CC one is offset and it feels very unnatural. It's most evident on the first 2 strokes. Some system info, if it's of use:
Windows 7 Pro x64
Wacom Intuos 4L
i7 3930K
32GB RAM
GTXTitan
GTX580

I've been handed the task of creating a new logo for my Committee at my University. We're in charge of setting up parties and various events for our semester.
Only problem is that we've been lacking a proper logo for the last year, that we've existed, and as I'm the only one with Photoshop skills in the committee, it was decided that i should create it. Problem is though - I've hit rock bottom.
Our Committee's name is " Ninkasi ". This is the best that I've come up with, but I don't like it at all! It doesn't represent our objectives as a committee for parties and events at all, IMO.
The monkey picture is essential, as it is what represents us - but how to make a cool logo out of it though?

GIMP has great tools for creating smooth lines from tablet input:
These options allow for a great range of input raniging from just remoiving jiter to creating very smooth lines with a delayed pen stroke.
Â
The only option I've found like this in PS is the "Smoothing" checkbox in the brush propeties box, but it has very little affect and can not be manupulated. Is there anything like this available in Photoshop, or as a plugin for Photoshop?

Background: We have a correctly functioning installation of Win XP, and PS CS3 Extended which appears to work normally in every other regard. No obvious errors; no crashes, no start-up complaints; nothing seemingly out of order. I use several installed languages in Windows (Eng UK, Russian, Swedish, etc). All of these work normally. All of my installed fonts work correctly in every application on the system except for CS3.
Â
There would appear to be something wrong with CS3's keyboard mapping in foreign languages. When typing with a non-English keyboard setting (any other language) and using True Type fonts (not Open), only 'missing character' boxes appear in the artwork. The Layers menu displays the typed text correctly, but this will not appear in the artwork. If I use an old install of PS7, I can type using these same fonts correctly in any language. These layers can be imported into CS3, and these WILL display correctly on the artwork. However, the Layers menu in this case displays nonsensical characters. Ergo, I suspect that CS3's keyboard input data is errant.
Â
Where does PS3 keep its information regarding language / keyboard layout? It is possible to edit this file(s)?
