I am able to open any animated gif in PS Elements and immediately have access to all of the individual frames that make up the animation.When I try that in CS2, I only see one image. Is there a way to open up all of the individual images of a animated gif file in CS2?

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to open photoshop I get the following message "Could not open a scratch file because you do not have the necessary access privileges". I click OK and get "Could not open Photoshop because you do not have the necessary access privileges". It then closes.
My CS4 Illustrator opens fine. Photoshop opened just fine 2 days ago.
I tried to open Indesign and that just crashes immediately (but I have never opened Indesign before...).
The only thing I can think of that might be relevant is that my computer was stolen about 6 months ago - when I got a replacement computer I simply reinstalled the same CS4.

Is there something that I have to click on or off to keep that image on the one frame, instead of propigating it ot every frame?
View 8 Replies View RelatedFrame animation plays fine when played from timeline but all layers are exported stacked on top of each other for the duration of the whole animation. I'm able to see that because the layers have transparency.
About animation - 8 frames with in endless loop, imported into a timeline via 'Make Frames from Layers' command in a fly-out menu in the Timeliine window. Tweens for animation are off, 01.sec delay for all frames
I was able to export animated GIF before, wondering if this issue is tied to the latest update.

Have an animated fire/smoke effect. But I need to have each frame as individual images. I'm inputting it into a game that compiles the images together into an animation in-game.
I have found lots of smoke and flame tutorials, but have not found any on how to make all the frames I would need for a smooth looping effect. If possible, I believe there are small little programs which can create animated fire/smoke for you, and then break it down by frame. But I have no clue what programs can do this. My main concern is to make sure the flames/smoke are as clean as possible in order to be able to make an alpha channel to provide me with transparencies around the effect.
So if anyone knows of a tutorial showing me how to create smoke divided by different frames (20+ or more so it is nice and smooth), please let me know. Of course, if you are willing to provide a quickie tutorial, then even better.
Or if someone has a name of a small program I can use that will create fire/smoke for me, then separate it by frame and save them,

View 3 Replies View RelatedI know a lot of people have had trouble with opening animated .gifs in photoshop cs3. I had that problem until I learned the little "trick" you could do (type *.* in "import video frames to layers") and then simply open the gif. This has worked one my computer for some time, but then all of a sudden it stopped working.
I thought it was odd and then I formatted my computer and installed a few windows updates and then installed adobe photoshop cs3 and then quicktime. But it still won't open GIF as it used to do. And it's very odd, as my laptop can do it (and it has just been newly reformatted too).
I'm trying to open an animated gif into Image Ready from PS but can't seem to get past square one.
I've done this before but quite awhile ago and my memory is not helping me. When I open the gif file in Image Ready it only shows one frame instead of a stack of frames.
I been using the CS6 extended 30 day trial, still have 13 days. left. I used to open the video frames for (gif) sas avi files with ease. All of a sudden I couldn't open any video frames anymore, why is that? They used to be opened with ease. Now when I clicked import video frames to layers it always comes back to the message 'cannot open video frames to layers because the file cannot be opened'. It all worked with the same file before so why didn't it work now?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI try to open anything in Photoshop CS, the dialog window shows up for a fraction of a second and then disappears. Photoshop then immediately locks up as if the window is still there and I need to make a selection from there. Only way to do anything at this point is to CTL-ALT-DEL and close Photoshop.
I can't think of anything I installed on the laptop lately, Photoshop has run without incident for months on this machine. The other items in CS don't seem to have any problems at all either.
I created a Photoshop file with text and background layers. The client wants me to place an animated GIF in the center of the file.
How do I get all but 3 layers which comprise the animated GIF to not go into the animated gif timeline on the bottom of the screen. I can only get this to work by turning off all the text and background layers. I need the timeline to just have 3 layers in it and only those layers move.

I made an animated gif in photoshop and saved it and made sure it worked. My problem is that I have a psd file that I am trying to put the animated gif into. When I try to paste it into my psd, it say that it will lose information if i save over it. I do not know what to do?! How do i put an animate gif into a psd?
I tried to go into image ready and save the psd into an html and then open the html in dreamweaver and replace the pic but it doesn't let me either because it saved the psd as a jpg and created an html and I cant put an image of the jpeg that was made in dreamweaver.
I created an animated gif in ulead cool 3d. I also have a psd file that is used for a web banner. It contains slices and several different layers including some rollovers. What I want to be able to do is insert the animated gif into the psd file and have it still work as an animated gif while keeping the original psd file intact. View 5 Replies View RelatedI used to be able to create animated gif's easily from unsaved files. I would simply select all the layers I wanted to use and process them.
After upgrading to CS6, I'm totally lost. I've followed half a dozen tutorials, but nothing works. The only way I can even load a frame into the Windows Timeline feature is to first save several images from my unsaved file, then reload them by choosing File > Scripts > Load Files into Stacks. But even then I can't find a Make Frames from Layers option when I click the down arrow on the right side of the palette.
Is there a simple way to create animated gif's from layers in an unsaved file on CS6, or do I need to reinstall my older Photoshop version in order to created animations?
I created an aniamted gif in AE, and exported as as QT, then looking to convert to animated gif.
I can compress it from 21mb, to 1.2mb but need to go smaller. I dont want to use flash, I want it to work on all device.

When i am saving the gif animated file using Save for Web, I am getting am error. The error is : " The optimized image could not be generated, likely because it is too big and there is no sufficient memory. The image will not be displayed."
Also, I am not able to save the .jpg file. Is giving me the error : " Could not complete the operation. An unknown error has occurred."

Now when I try to convert to or proof as these settings they don't show up in the custom profiles drop-down and when I hit the load button and navigate to the colorsync folder the csf file is greyed-out and I can't choose it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just installed Photoshop CS6, on my new PC. I previously installed Photoshop CC but have decided not to upgrade to that version yet.
When I start either the 32-bit or 64-bit version of CS6, I immediately get a message saying that it could not open a scratch file because it is locked, or I do not have permissions (I have administrator privileges). The message urges me to go to "Properties" with Windows Explorer but does not tell me where the file is located.
My PC has an SSD (C: drive) with enough space for the Photoshop program (installed there) but I do not want any scratch file installed there. I just brought up Photoshop CC and see that the D drive is specified as the scratch drive.
Am I not able to run Photoshop CS6 and Photoshop CC (not at the same time) on the same PC?
Is there a way to attach any animated file in the drawing such that the attached image remains animated in the Drawing file also (for example animated GIF images)?

Have added 3 new lines for 3 different adobe illustrator files.When the user makes a click in the hyperlink open the adobe illustrator but is empty.They don't opening the file that has added in the hyperlink. (It happens only in the .ai files all the other files .pdf - .doc - .jpg opening without any problem)
