AutoCAD Inventor :: Cable Assemblies / Make The Wire Routing Look A Little Neater
Mar 1, 2012Many times, we run several individual wires from one device to another. They are not grouped in a cable jacket or anything just individual wires. I was wondering if there is anyway to make the wire routing look a little neater as right now I have to tweak each wire one by one and many times it looks like crap. Can I use a segment for this and then just turn off the visibility of the segment or something? I just want the wires to look neat running from one place to another and there must be a way to do this?

Aug 29, 2011Capturing sd dv from a sony handycam using VS9 and a USB conection to pc. Few days ago all seemed to be ok was able to capture at 640x480 (I think) but now for some reason information section is showing 320x240 with a corresponding really poor quality preview. No matter what changes I try to make in the capture options or project properties etc it will not now allow me to capture at a higher quality. The options menus don't even show a higher quality available than 320x240. Tried at both AVI and Mpeg format capture settings but no change.

Oct 22, 2012Our local agency has come up with a requirement that CAD-generated drawings be submitted to them as 200 dpi TIF files, of between 300kb and 900kb. They do not accept dwg, dwf, or even pdf.
When we create a new plotter in AutoCAD, using any of the raster file formats, setup for the format only allows 100dpi. You can create larger numbers of pixels, 1024x768 vs 1600x1200, for example, but that is not translating into higher resolution.
We have tried the route of printing to pdf, then converting to TIF, but the file sizes are coming out far too large.
If we are unable to find a solution, I guess we can always print to hardcopy and then scan to tif. In 1996 I would have been happy to do that, but not now.
Our specific version of AutoCAD is AutoCAD Civil 3D 2013, but I am sure this is more a generic AutoCAD issue.
Photoshop :: How To Make Icon Image
Jul 13, 2013I found out how to do this recently so I decided that I wanted to make a tut for those who don't know how to make an icon image. This icon image is for the libraries tab on your computer. Under the libraries tab there is Music, Pictures, Documents, and Photos
First you will need the ICO (Icon image format) Format extension for Photoshop which can be downloaded here:

The download link and tutorial on how to install it is all in the link above. Once you have that all set you can now launch Photoshop to create your icon image. Once you have launched it, create a new document with the size as in the image below.

Create the image you want. I used a simple one by using the custom shape tool by pressing "U" on your keyboard and with the basic blending options.

The reason why the image is pixelated is because it is an icon image. Since the image is only 256x256 pixels when you zoom in on it that will get you the pixely result. The reason why I zoomed in is so you can see it. But don't worry this is no the end result. Just continue reading and you will see.
So once you have created the icon go ahead and press
file>save as>(under format choose the ICO)>and choose the name that you want to name it. And save it in your C: drive. You will see why to save it in your C: drive in a sec.

So now that you have created the icon and saved it now you can create the new library.

Name the library whatever you want I named it "Sample" for tutorial purposes. Notice how it gives you a default boring icon image for your library.

So now once you have created and named your library now it is time to get the icon image into place. Go to computer/c: Drive/users/YOU/ And now once you have reached this area you will need to access a hidden folder named "appdata" to do so press "Alt" then a menu bar will show. Click tools>folder options>and view. Find the option to view hidden folders then press apply then ok. Now we shall continue so AppData>Roaming>Microsoft>Windows>Libraries
Now you should see all the libraries including the one you just created.

Once you have reached your destination then open a new text document with notepad and drag the library you just created in notepad. The result should look like this:

once you have reached this point click at the end of the second to last line down then press enter and enter in this information

Once you have entered that information go to file>save and the icon image should appear on the library you created.

Nov 30, 2008I'm pretty new to photoshop, and I've started on a personal project. I want to basically take a video still from a music video and turn it into a poster. Sadly i can not find a good quality version of the video as it is older and not super famous, (kyuss-one inch man). So i found an online video that is better then youtube but not great, and i captured it through the vista snipping tool (screen capture).
Basically I want to take this low quality picture, and turn it into a good quality poster (not huge). What techniques and things must I do? I'll probably have to find a printer near here and require a specific dpi as well.
Photoshop :: How To Get Higher Resolution Previews In HDR Pro
Jul 10, 2012I often make HDR images by exporting a bracket from lightroom into photoshop via right click>merge to HDR in photoshop. When the dialog comes up it is always a very low resolution preview. When I go to zoom in (cmd +) the resolution remains the same and I am zooming in on a pixelated image and the zoom is very limited.
I am working from D3s files so there is plenty of resolution but it just doesn't show up in the preview. Is this simply the way it works or is there a way I can get a higher resolution preview. I'm not worried about rendering times either as I'm on a 8 core with 16gb or ram.

Oct 21, 2004Im printing this on an Epson Stylus CX4600. It supports 1440DPI Printing. Ive tried setting the resolution in photoshop to 1440 on the printer section (edit/preferences/units & rulers). Ive tried printing on photopaper, glossy photopaper, matte paper, and regular paper. Ive set the printer for best quality, normal quality and everything in between. But still everytime I print, it does not look as it does on the screen. It prints out fairly blurry, you cant read any text thats on it, except the top part, and thats even blurry.

I have looked at both discussions here and the ATI site, but it isn't clear which cards will best drive my ASUS higher-gamut monitor. I have to build a new system right now. (Willl not overclock a i7-3770 or use two GPU cards linked with Crossfire. No plans for any gaming.) I would also like to keep this part of the build at a couple hundred or less. I saw that FirePro boards range a lot higher than Radeon, which I realize is gaming-oriented.
I hope to get DVI and Displayport as outputs. I use two 24" monitors, and the older unit can accept only DVI (or VGA, which I would avoid.)Any thoughts about the current ATI line for higher gamut?

When saving as Tiff, there is a box I can check labeled "ICC Profile: Grey Gamma 2.2". What does this do?
Also, later I'm asked if I want LZW compression. I want as high resolution as possible, file size is not an issue. So I assume I'm not interested in compression.
But is Tiff the best format for me?

Large PS file (CS6 and CC) half a dozen texture layers using low res images. Several have blend modes, transparency and even masks. I now have the same images in high res. I want to replace just the image, but not lose my blend/transparency, or masks.
Do I bring in the high res layer, copy the mask over etc? Then delete the original?
