Using Photoshop Elements 6 on Mac with Lion 10.7. As with other users, I am unable to load styles downloaded from net (asl files). Shapes, brushes, and patterns load just fine. Have tried placing them in styles folder in presets (that didn't work) and library application folder for styles (that didn't work). Have tried removing preferences file for styles from preferences folder and doing both of the above (didn't work).
AutoCAD Inventor :: Design Styles Do Not Load With The Template
Nov 29, 2011I have made up templates with design styles (line thicknesses etc.).
However, when I try and load these templates up, the design styles do not load with the template as an error messgae appears. This has been attached.
I want to open a template up and for it to open with these design styles automatically loaded as default.
I am using Inventor 2012 LT.

Sep 25, 2012I'm trying to clip a layer onto another layer that contains styles. Whenever I do this though, the layer I'm clipping appears to disappear. My guess is that it's inheriting the styles from the layer it's being clipping onto, and so it's indistinguishable.
So my question is how can I clip onto a layer with styles, but not inherit? I can't seem to find any 'clipping layer properties' kind of thing, or anything that allows me to specify it

Jun 18, 2013I have beent trying to follow the instructions found at the URL below (second half of the video) in order to load custom patterns onto Elements 11. The video says I need to go to C:/ drive, then Users, then my folder, then AppData, then Adobe, then Photoshop Elements, Roaming, and Preset(s). However, the only program folder in the Adobe folder is for FlashPlayer. I have searched the entire computer, and while I can find the Photoshop Elements folder, it does not contain Roaming and/or Presets folders.

May 17, 2013I'm a bit confused on the style library system built into Inventor - it isn't very intuitive.
I'd like to create my tube and pipe styles as well as sheet metal styles and have to never create them again - regardless of the project/workspace. Is this something that can be saved in the standard part/assembly template files? If so, how?
I'm tired of creating styles every time I start a new document - it is a waste of a lot of time! And I'd like to avoid having to import settings on every document.

Jan 31, 2013I tried to load/insert a specific window style through use of the design palette but couldn't find the right type within the generic window styles that came with the software. I needed an 8 Blade x 150 glass Louvre Blades Window with a few standard openings currently used in our industry. In fact I needed to design several standards of these which I did but saved them as blocks with the dwg extensions.
In fact I really desire a way to design one that would be possible to be integrated into the styles drawing in the default location (C:/Program Data/Autodesk/ACA 2013/enu/Styles/Metric/Window Styles (Metric).dwg.
I understand that these default styles can easily be loaded into design palettes, entered into constructed walls and modified to certain specs in the appropriate dialogue boxes.

I have 2 layers:
1st layer has a 'Inner Shadow' at an angle of 150 degrees.
2nd layer.....I went to give it a 'Drop Shadow' of 100 degrees and notice that the 1st layer's angle has changed to '100' degrees from '150'.
Why is PhotoShop modifying the shadow effects of other layers when 1 in modified. Is this commom an how to disable it?
I know I could just create the layer in a new .psd, flatten and drag to the composition. But can't I just do it in the same .psd?

Mar 16, 2003i'm trying to my own comic for my website, and i'm trying to create styles that will work on the shapes that i use for the caption boxes and speech bubbles. eg, for th e speech I create a shape, then add the styles Colour Fiill and each an 8 pixel stroke that forms the border of the shape. I click, "new Style" and it saves it happily.
the problem is....whenever i start up PShop again (using v6.0, BTW), the style is there, but the Stroke is 33 pixels. The colour fill is okay, but it wil NOT save the goddamned Stroke values - i've tried creating the new style, saving the styles then importing them and the same thing happens.

Jan 31, 2005I'm making up album pages, with multiple pictures, each with a drop shadow/stroke round it. The photographs each have their own layer set, with adjustment layers correcting their individual colours - I don't want to merge the adjustment layers down until I'm ready to archive. I don't want to rasterize the layer styles yet either.
The problem I'm having is that the adjustment layers are affecting the layer styles - making the black line go a lighter grey etc. Is there a way round this? I'll merge the adjustment layers into the photographs if I have to, but is there a way of doing so while still leaving the layer style editable?

Nov 11, 2013how to create a custom bullet using the bullet character style and configure it as needed. The issue I have is that I can't edit or delete a custom bullet character style once it is created. When I create a custom character style, it doesn't preview so I'm sort of guessing on things like baseline or vertical shift and things like that, so it is trial and error and then I end up with a bunch of extraneous character styles. What I really want to do is edit an existing one - is there a way to do this and I'm just missing it? And if not, can I at least delete the extra character styles?

AutoCad :: Load Custom Tool Palette First?
Feb 6, 2012I have created a custom office standards tool palette for the users, and it is properly loaded on all the machines. The issue is that when the 'Tools' button on the ribbon is pressed, it loads to the 'design tools' palette by default. Most user here have the habit of closing the tool menu after use, and reopening it from the menu - which defaults back to the design tools palette instead of the office standards... which is frustrating when jumping back and forth constantly. I assumed there was an easy way to tell them to set the 'standards' as the default, but I can't seem to find this property anywhere.

Dec 15, 2011I'm using both Lightroom 3.5 and Photoshop CS5 on a 64-bit Windowx XP-Pro system with 8GB of RAM and plenty of disk space.

I use an X-rite color checker to generate custom camera profiles whenever I do portraits or other color critical photo sessions. The camera profile is generally placed in the "Documents and Settings...{user...}Application DataAdobeCameraRawCameraProfiles " folder.
When I try to apply a profile in either lightroom or ACR the newely created profile is not visible in the camera profile drop-down box. When I check to see if the profile exists in the appropriate folder, it does.

I've used color profiles before and have always been able to create and select a profile. Now I'm no longer able to do this. I would prefer to not re-install all my Adobe software since then I'd have to reinstall all the updates and plug-ins.

At the moment for them to see it I am having to recreate all my shapes so they are Pixel rather than shapes? why this is happening? I have never had this problem before and I have used Photoshop for years!

Mar 9, 2012Could not add any Layer Styles. I also cannot add styles to any layer in this file. He says he started it in a Lab on campus. We use a deep freeze software and so the default preferences should be restored on the computers regularly. He thinks he has had this problem before and has worked on different computers. No one else has this problem. So, if that's true, all I can think is that he is "doing something" when he chooses File--New. I recently opened the projects from all of the other students in my office and this fellow's file is the only one I can't add styles to. It's something about the file itself. What is it?

Photoshop :: Adding Many Layer Styles At Once
Jan 29, 2009who was layed off to do some simple brochures. He has a ton of layer styles that I need to install on my PC.
I added the styles into the /Presets/Styles directory. I can see the text list on the top right in my syles icons.
However, the newly moved styles do not show up as a thumbnail unless I click on the text of the name.
Is there an easy way to mass import the 300+ ASL files I have?
