I will change settings on a tool, use it for awhile, then change to a different tool. When I return to the first tool, the settings have reverted to the defaults. How do I keep them from changing while I am using a different tool?

I keep on forgetting to switch the scaling method, and thus often have to scale the image twice.
How to control the angle and roundness without having to constantly do it within the panel.

The stroke setting to which I refer is when I double click a layer and want to surround it with a stroke line of color. I have searched everywhere and can't find where to change the default setting.
I'm at work and i'm getting this terrible bug where modifying a value for one of the Character settings result in some random large value. So far it happened for Font Size, Line Height, Character Spacing and Base Line Shift.

It seems this issue has been around since CS6 was released, with dates ranging from Early 2012 to early 2013. This greatly impacts my work production.

Just want to see if other issues were relevant and its true that when you transform the text, the character scaling goes wonky. So is there a solution to this yet? This issue has been around since early last year.
why Photoshop keeps changing settings for placing objects, image size etc.?

For example: I create a new Photoshop document:

    Width: 160 mm
    Heigth: 160 mm

after clicking "OK", these go to 160,2 mm or less than 160 mm.

The same with the sizes and places of objects etc. I create a 20 x 20 mm circle. One click later it is 19,89 x 19,89. I set it's location to X: 80 mm, Y: 80 mm. One click later: 80,02mm
Is it possible to change the default settings of Xara Designer Pro for Units so that whenever a new file is started, it automatically uses the Default Units / Page - Pixels?
Or do I have to change it manually each time?
Since i bought a new machine, i've been having issues with the trial of Max 2012.Drivers, DirectX, etc. is all fully updates to the latest version, and Max started having these issues after (i think) a win7 update (I've attached a pic).
I've tried changing the settings to Direct3D and OpenGL, but the last one, makes it so Max crashes when opening (forcing me to change manually the config back to Direct3D), Aero is disabled by default too.
I am still trying to learn the basics in AutoCAD. Here is an example: I have many lines created in a drawing that all are different in collar,layer,line type,. Now I want to start drawing a new line But with the settings of a specific line . instead of changing every attribute(collor,layer,line type.) How can I simple pick a line I like from the drawing and then the line tool adopts the settings from that line? The same question for other tools for example text, dims,... Is the a tool the simple picks the objects attributes and make those current ?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI created a template using ANZ as the base template. Now I have a requirement to change the country kit to UK. What all the things I need to change in the template to use the UK country kit.
Also when users using my template on a machine which don't have ANZ country kit installed, they getting error messages such as missing SHP files, Payload item not found.
How to fix these issue also what is the correct procedure when giving using Civil3D template who are using different country kit.
I am doing image tracing - and when placing it into a recorded action, it only does the default tracing settings. Is there a way to adjust these?

Unfortulatly Indesign keeps crashing when I change the settings in the paragraph styles. eg changing the indents on a list item, or the amount of space before on the body text.

I am on Indesign creative cloud, and Mac Version 10.9.2
I would like to change the default settings for a Radius dimension, Extension value from "On" to "Off".
I have no trouble changing the dimensions one at a time, but that doesn’t change the default value in the template.
Since I installed the 2014 Inventor, my 3Dconnexion Space Navigator refuses to keep the settings I program for the buttons.  I tried updating to the latest version of the driver, but that didn't work. I also tried unchecking the autosave function in the driver, but they still get changed anyway and then the driver asks if I want to save the changes.

I have a client who wants to see a more realistic representation of the direction of the planks in her floor. Â I cannot figure out ow to do this. Â I have succesfully changed the direction of the beam system under the floor, but cannot change the direction of the floor panel. Â I have tried the folllowing:

1) Going into sketch mode and changing the beam support direction.
2) Changing the pattern in the materials fsettings from horizontal to vertical.
I am in Application options and am changing the background colour of the screen, hiding the grid lines, ticking the autoproject on sketch creation etc...changing the settings to how I like them. Apply them, model something, open Inventor 2011 the next day and all of the settings have gone back to what they were..

View 9 Replies View RelatedWe had to migrate from one domain to annother on our network. This meant that each user had to create a new profile.
Before we migrated I tried to back up the user data from the old user but once I am up an running agian all the AutoCad settings are no longer included. I understand you can export those while you are logged in and can see the macros etc. can you simply move the files that store that information (I can still access all the files from that user I just can't login as that user anymore)

for my latest little project I'm trying to change layer settings depending on a entry in a sheet set attribute.
Basically, if the sheet set custom attribute entry is 'white' I want the colour of a specific layer displayed as 255,255,255, and if it's blue I want it changed to 0,0,255. So I can control the colours from a sheet set custom properties level.
And for it to check if the layer existing in the drawing, so it'll skip the process if it's not there.

However, at some point, presumably because I unknowingly press a combination of these two keys with another key, the ALT key changes behavior - the cursor changes from the "lasso minus" to "duplicate selection - two small arrows" when ALT is held.

I got a question about Photoshop CS. You know how when you are painting with the brush tool and then you press ALT to sample a color right? Well, it normally changes the foreground color to the color you sample, but mine’s just suddenly started changing the background color instead O_o. I rest tools, turn off the machine, but weeks later I find myself constantly have to switch to the background color, using (x) whenever I sample. It’s a pain in the ass! How do you change it back to normal?

If I adjust paragraph settings, like indents, in one file, those options do not return to default when I start a new file. Thus, I find myself wondering why I have such large gaps between lines of copy or to the left, etc. when I start a new text layer. (This actually happens not only in new files, but in new layers - the latter is slightly more understandable in that it's the same file.)
When a lightbuld goes on for me: "Check your type settings." And, lo-and-behold, there things are: space before or after a paragraph; right or left indents. All settings that used to be cleared when a new file - or a new layer - are opened. This is excruciatingly annoying.If I apply a layer style (e.g., drop shadow) to a shape layer, and then I create another shape layer, the latter one automatically gets all the same style settings applied. That is, the new layer has the all the same layer styles applied to it by default. Meaning, I have to then delete those as they are often not what I intend. Â
In any case, it used to be that I could choose what I want my own new files and layers to look like, not have previously used settings automatically applied.
I always used the number keys to set opacity in brush tool. Suddenly it now affects flow, not opacity. At the same time this functionality changed I started having to click on a mask for the [ ] keys to change brush size. I used to be able to change size without selecting the mask. Did I inadvertently change some setting? I am using CS5 12.0 x 64 on Mac in 10.6.8.Â
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have somehow managed to get the tool settings in Maya 2011 to be "floating" in its own panel. I don't know what I did that made that happen, nor what to do so the panel won't be "floating" anymore.
I know it must be something simple to fix, i'm just not sure how to fix it.

How to change the default tool settings in Gimp?
When I open Gimp, I want all selection tools to have antialiasing turned off, all thresholds set to 0, default brush set to 1 pixel, and erase tool set to hard erase.
How can I achieve this? (I use gimp for pixel drawings.)
