In Photoshop, how do I keep the shot/creation date after editing/adjusting a photograph in order to keep hundreds of images in a chronological order? I am combining files with a second shooter on an event an the timeline is essential.
View 5 RepliesAll of a sudden I notice that when I open a file in Autocad Architecture, it shows the file creation date and not the actual last save date. Only thing I can think of is I reinstalled 3dsmax Design and I wonder if that changed something. I attached a screenshot for reference.

Is it possible to display the 'shot date' of photos witin a Slideshow. In showing a slideshow, I'm being asked; "when was that pix taken?". It would answer these questions by having the shot date shown.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI created a image (with blank background) with dimensions 640 x 480 (its my default working image).
I have copied photograph with dimensions 7300 x 4200 and pasted as new layer on the image (640 x 480). Obviously, the pasted photograph is bigger and it couldn't be showed totally. I am adjusting the size of the photograph manually, dragging and dropping its corner lots of time.
I tried to use "image => resize" / "image => canvas size". But it just act on my default image (640 x 480), not the photograph (even when its layer is selected).
So, is there any way of resize the photograph automatically to fit in the default image (640 x 480)?
I'm trying to adjust a JPG image so that I can imprint it onto a tapered shot glass. So far nothing I've tried has worked, is there anyway to accomplish this in either Corel Draw or Photo Paint? I'm using version X5.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI went through about 100 files and did what I wanted in Camera RAW (started out with NEFs). Thereafter I had Bridge make TIFs of all the files in the folder using the PS Image Processor.
Now, looking at the TIF folder in Bridge, I find that about 80 of them has a wrong creation date (I checked the Preferences and I have asked for the date of creation - and not the date of modification). As I watch (several minutes) Bridge changes some of the dates to the ones known to me to be correct - but not all. If I close Bridge, restart Bridge and open the folder again the same happens, i.e. it starts all over. Even stranger is that the Windows Pathfinder have problems with the same files - i.e. does not show the date of creation at all.
The date of these 80 files are all the same - and they have been edited over several days!
I have done a lot of work on those files and would hate to start all over. I checked and of course the dates are the original in the RAW folder that I started out with.I am sure that I do not have any bugs in my PC.
I'm finding that Lightroom changes the file creation date when embedding metadata. I notice that this behaviour differs from Bridge, which manages to write metadata changes to the file without affecting the creation date, only touching the modified date.
I've read in other threads that it doesn't matter anyway because moving files between disks will write a new file and therefore a new creation date, but while this may be true in some systems (I don’t know) this is certainly not the case with Mac OS. For example, I have files going back to at least 1998 which have been moved from disk to disk to disk yet still retain their original creation date. Which is as it should be. For many of my older images there seems to be no recognisable embedded capture date anyway, so the file creation date is the only time stamp.
It seems perfectly logical that the modified date of a file should be updated to reflect that the file has been modified (e.g. though adding metadata), but it seems equally logical that the file creation date should be retained as the original date that file was created. Changing them both to the same date seems to be a needless loss of information.
Some might argue that the process of adding metadata to a file creates a new file, therefore the creation date needs to be updated to reflect that. But I would say that the creation date should be what a normal user would understand as the creation date. We don't expect the creation date to be changed simply because a file is rewritten to disk (for instance when defragging), however technically accurate it might be to say that it is a newly created file. And the difference in behaviour between Bridge and Lightroom shows that there is some confusion about this.
I shoot raw and after developing and exporting the pictures to jpeg in OSX, the new files show the export date as the creation and modification dates. How can I keep the shooting date as the creation date to sort the pictures in the finder appropriately?

I've got bunches of scanned analog photos. The creation dates were the scan time, not when the photos were taken. And some are out of order.
I don't remember the exact times and dates, but I do recollect the sequence. And I can use a "user order" within LR.
But how do I preserve that order in the metadata in the files for use in other applications, etc? I can set a creation date, but it appears to be the same for all. How I could increment the date/time so that I'd end up with the same sequence when sorted by "capture time"?
I need to assign the same creation date to several pictures. On the modify file format (batch process) window there is the possibility to include date but I cannot find a method to modify the date only.

I am using PSE 11 on a MacBook Pro, OS X (10.3). I have a lot of old pictures to edit, and they are in date order, which is how I want them.
However, when I edit a picture and save it, it moves it to the bottom, with today's date instead of the original date. I have them set to save with the original as a version set.
Is there any way to retain the orignal dates, short of having to go in and reset the date on every picture after I save it? I really want them to be in date order under their original dates.
BTW, I used earlier versions that were Windows-based, and this didn't happen. When I saved them, the version sets stayed where they were.
WIndows 7 x64 | PS CS6. Just now while attempting to edit a Channel Mixer adjustment layer's creation dialogue settings, about 15 browser windows (not tabs but individual windows) trying to load Adobe docs all popped opened simultaneously.Killed Firefox's process and went back to PS.Every time I went back to PS though, it would happen again, when I clicked in the Channel Mixer settings.
Got out of the loop by mashing the ESC button as I switched back to PS, which successfully killed the Channel Mixer dialogue.I've seen this behavior in PS for about 4 versions now, but never this severe. How dysfunctional.

When I have attempted to search for a specific date or year, however, nothing comes up. For example, if I search for my photo on "Fido 1985", I can find Fido, but if I simply enter "1985", I get nothing.

I've created a new album on the right hand side under "Organize" and just the photos I want are in there. When I look at the folder on the right, all the pictures are there. But I can't call up just that folder; instead what I get on my screen is all 2500 photos in all my photo albums! Not what I want! What I want to get is all the photos in the order in which they were taken on the actual day as all 500 photos were taken at the same day. And I want to be able to view just the 500 photos in that folder by the time those pictures were taken. But, when I imported the second batch of photos it showed the date the file was created rather than the date the photo was taken so, basically, I've got one batch of photos showing the date they were taken (which I downloaded via a link a few days later), and one showing the date they were copied!

So I decided to export the ones I want then import into PSE 12. As I do this many of the dates on the pictures change from the date taken to the current date. I have tried several different ways and can't stop the dates changing. I am putting them into mobile albums in PSE 12 if that makes a difference.

View 4 Replies View RelatedWhy does the capture date in the metadata panel not match the capture date seen in the grid extra view and how do I fix it? The images that I have in my library are digitized negatives and I've corrected the capture dates and times to be accurate; however, the capture date and in the metadata window shows what I've changed it to and the date in both the grid extra view and the Metadata>Edit Capture Time... options both reflect the date the image was last modified. Not all of the images in my library are this way and some show the correct information. When sorted by Capture Time, all images fall exactly where they should in the proper order (based on the changed, corrected edit time and not the modified date). I saved metadata to the file with the new date but it didn't fix it.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI discovered this "new" function on my camera today (just bought it recently and I'm still just playing around with it). A thingy called Multi-Shot where the camera takes 16 pictures in about 2 or 3 seconds and then makes it into a single image. Where you can see all the frames, which end up at a resolution of about 400*300 on the 7mp total resolution.
Is there any way possible to make photoshop automatically take my 16-pic multishot picture, take every single frame, crop it and save it as a separate image file? So I end up with 16 different pictures instead of one containing all the frames?
I want to make a mug shot of myself, but in black and white. and not black and white like b&w photography, but REALLY black and white, like this text.. that's as far as i've gotten w/ it. but i have no idea how to accomplish this. When I insert a picture either into a new blank file or onto another picture and then click on the new picture to resize, it appears that the tool sees only the original document and not the photograph that I've just dragged onto it. It does not show the dotted line selection or the resize handles. Also when I try to use the resize menu option in either canvas or image option it changes the whole document and not the new photograph.

The problem, as you can see, is bright sunlight behind the subjects, and therefore they are very dark. I've tried, but can not seem to improve it much, maybe it's impossible, I don't know. View 1 Replies View RelatedPhotoshop CS3 won't let me paste in a screen shot anymore. I hit PrtScn, open Photoshop, create a new file (the file IS created at the size of the screen, which is a start), and hit paste and nothing happens. Edit/Paste is greyed out in the menu.
I can however, paste a screen shot into Word, and then copy and paste that into Photoshop, but Word does something to the colors in addition to creating an extra step in the process.
