How to wrap a shape from one edge of my canvas to the other? In other words I want to draw off the edge of one side and see it also appear on the opposite side.
View 2 RepliesI want to engrave the text 'TEST' all the way around this clonal object. When I use the emboss tool, selecting the option 'wrap to face,' it gives me an error message that the "face selected is not tangent to the profile plane."
I am using a work plane that is offset from the XY plane. I included a screen shot and the file that I am using (Inv. 2014)
I have a photograph and a bubble custom shape.
How can I get it so that the photograph wraps into the custom shape and also looks like a bubble? So really, it becomes the background of the custom shape.
How do you copy a strip of the edge of an image and re-apply that strip to the outside of the image?
Now that I have a pentagon crop, I want to print it on canvas. To do this the image can't be further cropped because I did that already. So I have to select a strip of the image at the edges and "flip " that outside of the edge so that the canvas wraps around the stretcher frame (don't want to have a white canvas side on the stretcher).
I have this object that has a pattern around it with spikes:
I want to take this pattern from this shape and wrap it around this ellipse:
Obviously I know that the pattern will be too short and won't fit around the full ellipipse, but wondering if there is an easy to way to accomplish this (ie a built in function)?
I have two cylinders that are at a right angle to each other and was wondering how to create a fin to "wrap" around the round edge and then intersect with the flat side of the other cylinder.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIn ModelSpace, when I drag the crosshairs over to the right edge of the screen, the crosshairs will vanish and reappear on the left side of the screen. This is a major problem: If I am reaching for an object off to the right and overshoot with the mouse a little, the crosshairs will suddenly be way over on the left. But much worse than this, I have a toolbar oriented vertically on the right side of the screen. I literally cannot get to that toolbar because the crosshairs swap over to the left side of the screen, instead of changing over to an arrow cursor to make use of the menus.

I have a pic of a gold bar with the embossed 999.9 and the serial number. I have taken an outline of the map and extruded it so it looks 3D. I cannot figure out how to fill the extrusion with the bitmap. I want to wrap it so it looks like real gold on the front and sides with embossing undistorted. I am using Draw X4.

For some reason the current document I am working with has decided to draw the paths of my shapes from the center instead of on the precise outer edge. This results in all of my shapes having a soft edge instead of a clean crisp one. I'm not sure what I could have done to change PS to draw them like this and I've looked through most of the options I can think of and can't find where to change it back. Nor do I know if this even makes sense.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI created a Photoshop document, and selected the Ellipse Shape Tool. On the Tool Options Bar I selected "Shape Layer" I drew an ellipse, and a new Shape Layer was created. I then used the Zoom tool to zoom in on the edge of the shape. The path that defines the edge was a thin, sharp line. But the color at the edge of the shape has a pixelated, chunky look.
Why isn't the color at the edge just as sharp as the path? Since the shape's edge is defined by a vector, I would have thought the color's edge would be sharp, not pixelated.
I have a curved shape which is a light color. I want to create a dark outline and have it fade into the light color as a gradient would, uniformly following the curved shape.

I have a stroke of a circle, and I want to clip a shape out of the edge:
When I use the parallelogram as the mask, I get this:
When in fact, I want the inversion of that:
I mimicked that by just making the parallelogram white, but how would I do that using clipping masks?
I am fresh on the inventor bandwagon so this may seem remedial.
I have a box shape, open in the front which will be 1 part of a larger furniture unit.
I would like to create a beveled edge along the front face to receive a similarly beveled drawer.
This has been a problem.
I've read that I should look in the surface window and choose planar surface, but the inventor 2012 that I have has no planar surface tab.
So, any better way to create a bevel on an open box.
I am only seeing the corners, is there a way to resize a shape from center when creating an animation?

I have the outline of a solid body guitar that I drew with spline, extruded and now trying put a 1/2" fillet radius along the edges, top and bottom.
Using the 3d fillet command produces an error, and extruding a profile along the edge path doesn't work either.
Attached is the spline outline, the red part is what needs the fillet, but the white part does not. However, they can't be extruded into a 3d solid unless their joined!
I draw a T with the pen tool, supposed to be vectorial, that is, you can enlarge it without losing quality.
But the top edge appears pixeled! Why??

in this video he uses holding shift and drag the edge to duplicate/copy the shape but when i want for example create a box,convert to editable poly and select edge and holding shift and drag it not working for me.i remove the face and use only the edges and it works but on that video he has 3d shape and not remove the face! i have 3ds max 2013.
I am creating a shape that looks like a pill a rectangle with two circles on the ends, if you will. But it's all one shape. I want a gradient or blend (what exactly is the differnce?) that has a white middle and dark gray edges. The white goes along the pill horizontally but the dark gray is above and below this white "line" but the rounded edges of the pill shape are the dark gray. I'm using CS6.

View 6 Replies View RelatedIn Photoshop CS6, when you have a shape layer with a layer mask, and the two are not linked together, and the layer mask is selected, you should be able to scale the layer mask independently of the shape. What actually happens is the shape gets scaled and the layer mask stays untouched. In fact, even if you option-click on the layer mask to show the mask by itself, and then try to scale it, you still end up scaling the shape instead of the mask. Even if you go as far as to make a pixel selection of the layer mask and attempt to scale the pixels, the shape still gets scaled and the layer mask still stays put! Unbelievable!
This works correctly in CS4, but not in CS6 (don't know about CS5).
I want to make a vector shape from a path. Is there a way to bypass having to define a new custom shape? I just want to quickly add the vector shape to a new layer, but I don't need it defined as it'll just be used once.

I'm having trouble getting the edges of my eyes to look like they are part of the chair, which got me wondering. Is there a way to feather my edges with increased intensity closer to the edge? To be specific, I'd like to start the feather 100px inside the border with 60% opacity, all the way to the edge (border) with 0% opacity. I tried doing this manually a couple of ways and it just didn't look uniform.
I have also tried with the eyes seperated (without the middle area), but I still have the same issues.
any way to delete more than a single shape at a time from a shape collection file, other like step by step with the option key? I have one collection with about 400 shapes and would like to save it to some "groups", like people, arrows, devices..

Also, I've used CS4 a fair bit and haven't come across this same problem but in PE when I'm editing things like adjusting text on a layer and I'm changing options with hotkeys to resize the text box for eg, Elements seems to jump to the background layer quite alot and then I have to click back on the layer I want to edit between changing tools. Is it something to do with the Esc key?
i need to put some perspective into my text, but i have no idea how to do it. the image i have is a wall from an angle. i need to know how to make the text look like it is on the face of the wall. any ideas?

I am trying to make a mock up advertisement for my car. I want to show people what they're companies logo would look like as a vinyl wrap on my car. I have Cut out the painted body of my car with the lasso tool and wouldand have a graphics image and would like to get an exact cut out of the image to fit on my car. I still want the refelctions to show through so it looks glossy instead of matte. I was assuming if I lowered the opacity it would allow for the reflections to go through but then the red of the car shines through and I was having trouble recoloring the car black to match the graphics. Is there anyway to just add shine to the image I wanna use as the wrap?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am having trouble w/ entering text that will auto wrap. I am using PS 6. I drag the text box (which should put me in paragraph mode) and when I type, the words 'disappear' off the edge of the text box instead of auto wrap.
If I hit enter, the next line jumps to the bottom of page/box.
I don't want to have to type each line as a separate text box, but so far that is the only way to get it to work.
