Lightroom :: 4.1 BLURB ICC Profile Not Displaying In Profile List
Aug 11, 2012Downloaded the BLURB color profile and installed to the system. Restarted LR and it did not appear in the other list for color profiles. I checked and found the profile in c:/Windows/System32/spool/drivers/color. I tried coping the file to c:/ProgramFile(x86)/CommonFiles/Adobe/Color/Profiles/Recommended. Restarted LR and still no BRURB icc shows up in the list. I also noticed there were other profiles in these directories which do not show up in the list. What am I doing wrong? Is there another menu which controls the "other..." list?

Jan 26, 2013I have created custom profiles using Color Checker Passport for sunny, cloudy, flash, tungsten etc but would really like to create one for most shoots. I thought it would be a good idea to name it say "Temp" and overwrite each time so that I dont end up knee deep in camera profiles. But I am guessing if I do this will the latest saved version of "Temp" change the camera profile of all other previously saved versions of "Temp" from other shoots?It would be good if the saved version of "Temp" resided within the folder of that particular shoot only.

Jun 16, 2013I installed LR5 from LR4 yesterday and each time I open an image in CS5 from my LR5, I get the following message:
The document "IMG_9082.CR2"has an embedded color profile that does not match the current RGB working space.
Embedded: Adobe RGB (1998)
Working sRGB IEC61966-2.1
What would you like to do?
-Use the embedded profiel (instead of the working space)
-Convert documents's colors to the working space
-Discard the embedded profile (don't color manage)
My camera's settings have it set with sRGB, LR4 and LR5 have sRGB and I have CS5 workspace as sRGB. This did not happen before.
Is it possible that when LR5 updated the LR4 catalogue, it changed the profile of all my photos? I don't know, maybe I've done something, but I can't see what as I don't remember changing anything.
Illustrator :: How To Save Custom Artboard Setup With Custom Document Profile
Nov 1, 2012Is there a way to save a custom artboard setup with a custom document profile in illustrator cs5? I do technical illustrations and our page size is odd (7.19 x 8.96. It the size that our Framemaker layout is set to.). I have a custom document profile that I use, but I use the grids all the time so that my callouts are spaced out evenly around the art. I would like to have a way to set the artboard up so that the grid will align to the center of the artboard everytime I turn them on. Right now they always start from the top left and when I center art in the center of the page, the grid spacing isn't the same on each side of the art. I just want to be able to open my document profile, turn on my grids, have them start from the center, and I can get down to business. As it is now I have to go into my artboard settings and manually adjust the grid to the center. Small annoyance, but it still annoys me. I have tried to save it a few different ways, but nothing has worked. Maybe there just isn't a way.

In my case I want to save a custom Adobe RGB profile with a gamma of 1.0 instead of the usual 2.2. I can create it easy enough in the custom dialog box, but haven't figured out how to save it.

Sep 30, 2013I've been trying to reproduce this color blind conditionfor a long time now and I still didn't figure out how I can do this. I've searched for cluts but didn't find any, only this, which has some previews of them, but no any files I can load into Photoshop's Color Lookup adjustment. I've looked into Pixel Bender plugin, but I'm using CC so that doesn't work either... I've also tried it with the Index Color mode, but that really messes up my image as it has a really low color range (256). I've even tried reproducing the same effect with adjustments, channels, etc, but didn't figure it out.
Since there's a way to perfectly color proof images with this condition, I'm guessing this has to be some kind of ICC profile or something similar. Is there a way I can use it as a color profile?

Sep 13, 2012, I have CS5, and a Sigma 15 - 50 lens.
If I want to apply lens correction in ACR thgere is a dropdown list of lenses, but my lens isn't included. presumably because it has been superceded by the 12 - 24.
So, is it possible to create a custom profile for this lens and save it for future use? if so how do I do this?
Photoshop :: How Custom Monitor Profile Shift Within CS3
Oct 29, 2013I have a vintage macBook pro running Snow leopard, PS CS3 & DW CS3. I have a lenovo Business computer-Vista and a Dell-XP with PS 7. My monitor died and I bought a Dell U2412 which I calibrated with i1 Display 2, the grey scale was good & neutral on every 3rd gradation but wandered dramatically in between measured targets, the colour was either good for the skin and dull on the primary and secondary colour targets or over saturated on the skin and too red in the blues and mag (but with correct Sat on primary secondary). This monitor a good colour out of the box in reviews (but not on a mac, Dell profile loaded but no drivers for mac), so I tried it on the lenovo with a greyscale I made on the mac, the Phase One Lowres Colour Checker and a couple of profile targets I got from commercial labs close by (all had primary-secondary swatches greyscales and some natural examples). The greyscale was good very neutral (black grey meld together) and the skin colour and primaries were fine, this is viewing them in paint and windows photo gallery. Double checked them with the Dell, inside and out side PS they looked great using the Dell supplied profile and terrible with a custom profile by i1 Display 2!
I up graded to the i1 Display pro, on the mac the greyscale was very good all round, far better, the skin was good as were all targets but the blue (255 blue in PS is normally very deep 74% tone in the info pallet and very intense) is rendered, appears that is as a med cobalt blue with a visual tone of I would say no more that 50% and while a bright blue far from intense. The magenta is the same a soft pure pink. They measure as they should though 255 blue and 255 red and 255 blue for the mag. I installed and profiled the lenovo with exactly the same settings and it looked great all over! So a Mac PC issue? probably not the Dell exhibits the same behavior when using the i1 Display 2 profile and the Dell U2412 profile. I made a double swatch (blue and magenta) in PS to e-mail to myself so I can monitor the problem a little easier using all 3 computers, as I attached it to the e-mail and I see it looks great in mail, very strange. I loaded the image on a webpage and in DW and put it on my site, all browsers display it as PS does soft. IE on the lenovo displays it as it should. On the mac Preview also displays it correctly.
Recap:
The U2412 is capable of displaying the colours.
The custom profile is loaded as the system profile on the mac and the PC.
The mac displays the 2 colours correctly in Mail and Preview.
The mac does not display the colours correctly in PS DW or web browsers.
The profile is being used by PS; The greyscale is perfect, opening the display preferences window and changing profiles shows a difference.
The profiles are loaded but are changed or corrupted in certain applications.
I cannot be the only one to bring a macBook pro, Snow leopard PS and i1 Display Pro together, am I the only one with a problem?

Dec 21, 2012For a monthly magazine on uncoated paper, our workflow is as follows:
- convert every photo to uncoated cmyk (PSO Uncoated) + apply some corrections to look nice in this profile
- apply a fixed correction curve to the photo's
- (resize images + apply proper sharpening for print)
- export pdf: convert colors to destination, preserve numbers
The correction curve step is critical. Without it, everything is printed much too dark.Unfortunately our printer can't provide us with a correct profile for the paper that is used. That's why the correction curve in photoshop is needed.The profile + the correction curve give a good, predictable result.
However i don't like the workflow with the correction curve, because only photoshop links can be corrected.We would also like to put a digital version of the magazine online, so i have to replace all links if i won't to have them displayed correctly.
Can i somehow combine the icc profile with the correction curve into a new icc profile?I did some research and found about "Custom CMYK" in photoshop (see screenshot), but i think an existing profile (PSO Uncoated) can't be edited or replicated in this dialog box.

Aug 20, 2012In prior versions of PS, if I added a custom profile under Proof Setup, it would be pinned to the Proof Setup menu (along with the default profiles). That doesn't appear to happen in PS CS6.
Is there a specific place I need to save the custom Proof profiles to so that they will appear in the menu?
Photoshop :: ICC Profile Not Working?
Nov 26, 2012This is on a 2011 macbook pro with mountain lion. I have tried to use two new icc profiles, put them in:
library-colorsync-profiles-recommended
and while they work in preview, and illustrator, they will not work in photoshop. I go through the print dialog, with photoshop managing colors, select icc profile. Hit print, try to open pdf in preview, and it's all white (this only after blanks were printed out). I have tried, tested, and no luck.

Mar 1, 2013I have an alignment label that I normally use to show the PVI's of a profile in the plan view.
This is a little unusual, but in a specific case I wanted to design my profile at one alignment, but show it at another. I designed my swale profile in the pathway profile view and then superimposed the swale profile on the swale profile view. I then went back to the swale alignment to add these labels.
It's a no-go AFAICT. The only profile available for me to select for these labels is the original ground profile from the surface.

Mar 14, 2013Im creating a Profile Bandset and would like to have multiple surface/profile elevations shown, ie: EG, FG, Back of Curb and Back of walk. While creating this bandset I see that the text component editor properties only has code for profile 1 elevation and profile 2 elevation in the properties area, which the code for this looks like below.

Ive tried to write my own code using the profile 2 as an example but it doesnt seem to work as a 3rd surface/profile and only seems to mimic the profile 2 elevation when placed in the band
My questions are as follows
1) does Civil 3d only allow 2 surface elevations in any band set? if it does allow more profiles/surface elevations what am i missing to create it?
2) if Civil 3d does alow for multiple surfaces to be shown in the band set how do i get the text component editor to supply the extra profile elevation codes? or would i need to create from scratch
3) if i need to write the code from scratch does any listing of the codes and meanings of each code ie what does RN, Uft, Sn and so forth do and mean .

Jan 17, 2012I am working C3D 2012. I have a proposed alignment and profile design by another firm that I had to tranfer into C3D. I had no problem getting the horizontal alignment to display from a text file. I tried to do the same with the profile by using the 'create a text file and create the profile from file' command. I got the POB, PI's, and POE to display. I then defined the VC. I wanted to verifiy that the profile was indeed accurate compared to what we were provided. So I tried to execute a profile report PVI Station and Curve Report - I keep getting an error that "No FG profiles in dwg".
I know the Proposed profile is indeed set to proposed in the properties. I have noticed that the icon next to the profile I create from the text file is different than the profiles created from scratch.
Is there a way to convert this profile to be recognized as a FG profile?

Lightroom :: Enable Profile Corrections Auto Setting Doesn't Find X100s Profile In 4.4
Mar 27, 2014In Development module in LR4.4, viewing a Fuji X100s raw file (converted on import to DNG) I tick the box for "Enable Profile Corrections" under "Lens Corrections," and select "Auto" from the "Setup" menu. I would have thought that LR would pick up the X100s profile, but no, nothing happens. If I choose "Fujifilm" from the "Make" dropdown, I can find the X100 (not X100s) profile manually. The profile's probably pretty similar, but still, I'm wondering why my install of 4.4 doesn't have the X100s profile in place?
While I'm at it, I'll ask this too -- I recently bought the new Nikkor 35mm 1.8G ED (the new full frame 35mm Nikon lens, not the trusty 35mm 1.8DX) and there's no profile for that lens in my LR4.4 either.
Finally, I note that when I choose "Check for Updates" from the "Help" menu in LR, I'm told there are no updates available.

Nov 9, 2011I have a Canon S100 which is one of the 6 new cameras added to LR. My existing LR would not open the CR2 file. This 3.6 RC opens it but does not list it as one of the canon cameras it profiles. How about the other 5 cameras? I don't have any of them so I can't comment. Only on the S100.

Jul 24, 2012I have yet to produce a profile. I created a polyline and turned it into an alignment.
Looking at alignment Sample(3), I see that it is not superimposed over your surface. The polylines are, but the alignment is not. That will disallow creation of a surface profile.
Is the sample5 an alignment that sits on the surface? how come there is still no profile?

Jul 17, 2012differences in elevations of points along Profile 2 (the proposed new road elevation) and Profile 1 (the existing elevation/surface) should be computed and shown right above the Profile 2 line. For example, if at a certain point PT 1 the elevation of the proposed road is 132.44 meters and the elevation of the existing surface is 132.45 meters, the difference is -0.01 meters and it should be shown exactly above the Profile 2 line (or a little bit above it) but not on it. The same should be done for every chosen point along the proposed profile.
So far, I have done this manually, by dragging the difference (already automatically computed and shown in one of the bands below the profiles) to the correct place for every single point. However, I don't know how to do this automatically.

Feb 7, 2012I want to transfer or copy the tool palettes (walls, doors, FFE) from one profile to another. I have all my tool bars, set in one profile correctly, but all the tool palettes are in another profile.
Is there a way to copy these tools into another profile? Even if I over-right another palette?

Mar 17, 2011We have an engineer who is taking an existing surface and wants to show a proposed road 2" higher than existing.
I told him to simply adjust his assembly for his corridor to account for the 2" difference, but the County agency needs to see a profile.
My questions:
1) Is there a way to easily copy a profile made from a surface and "convert" it to a proposed profile? If we copy and explode, it turns into hundreds (thousands?) of tiny pline segments and it would be a mess to convert all those to a profile 1 by 1. If we make the corridor, and choose "profile from corridor", we do not have an option that could be used to represent the centerline.
2) Other than loss of dynamic updating), would it make sense to adjust the assembly so the top surface would be accurate, then copy the profile, explode the copy to a block and simply shift that (as essentially basic linework)?
