Photoshop :: How Do You Create Curves Waves Effect In PS?
Aug 23, 2005
This may look like a simple effect to the pros, but im no sure how to achieve it in PS. Im designing a web page and i like designs with flowing curves ( I think it looks cool & modern looking) but Im not sure how to make these effects in PS.
How can I make beautiful curves with nice colours like these?
I'd really like to create an animated shadow cast down on the ocean floor by the waves above. That nice ripply effect where the light peaks through the waves onto the sand below. I need it to animate too, I think that will be very hard.
I can't post links at the moment but a simple Google image search of "stingray ocean floor" should yield some nice examples. I can't actually find any tutorials similar enough to adapt for this purpose. (I'd like to have the light ripples as the transparent part, and the shadows varying shade of grey to black)

i'm trying to create is an image that consists of numerous lines that are waves, alternating between two different colors,
i've created an image in photoshop of vertical grey lines spaced evenly with white in between each. What i then did was use the liquify filter and drag across the entire image to create peaks, then i did it in the opposite direction a little lower to create a sort of wave.
After doing everything i can find to optimize my hardware/software for doing 3D animation in Ps Ext CS6. I still cannot render an animation to video using the Ray Traced Final setting. (Ray Traced Draft, no problem.) The last time I tried (after repairing disk permissions), at least Ps did not crash and give me the same old crash report (Exception Type: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGSEGV) Exception Codes: KERN_INVALID_ADDRESS at 0x00000007a0020000). This time I just got an error msg that my request could not be completed. (Progress?) Checking Activity Monitor, I could see that my available RAM, which was 13 GB when I started the render was now less than 1 GB (761 MB).
So, I have come to the conclusion that my 16 GB of RAM and 300 GB available for virtual memory on my HD is not enough for rendering the type of 3D animation I am trying to do. Would you agree? Also, I have read it is not good to use the same HD your program is installed on for a scratch disk, so I am considering getting an external solid state drive to use as a scratch disk.
i want to make the curves reall realistic like eletricity u know the bleu color with white in it
so i want the waves to begin at an image as AC current then go tru the text like DC current and again go out of the text as AC current but with the color of electricity
i have an image written on it ALL ELECTRONICS REPAIR now i want the curves go tru the (ALL)
I have searched all over for a tute or techinique for making waves and realistic water in PS. And to show waves breaking on the bow of a ship as it passes through the water, but I can't seem to find anything. I have tried it myself a hundred time without much sucsess. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
I have some random curves (already created) and I want to blur them just from one side to have the same blur distance and effect one the whole curve.
To more precisely describe what I need, I need to create gradient with direction of normal for every "point". The best example I have found so far are borders in Civilization IV game. Here are two examples:
As you can see, there is a solid curve, which gradually blends (i.e. alpha channel is lowered) till the gradient disappears. I have the solid curve and the question is, what would be the simplest way how to do this (the number of curves is around 100) gradient.
I have a blue layer that I want to put satin waves in. Basically waves like a flag but the material should be satin causing light and dark waves in the material.
I would like to create an eps triangle with curves (instead of points) but don't know how. I've Illustrator version 8. I need to open in Illustrator version 8
I need to create a map, connecting different parts of the world, with curved lines that have a specific thickness when compared to each other, similar to this print screen: [URL] ....
How should I go about doing it? I am completely new to Adobe Illustrator, and I am using the mac Version.
Any else out there illustrating custom drop shadows may have encountered this. If I do a hard drop shadow ro in RGB does not happen as much. When I convert to cmyk happens more.
Have had some success by rather than going form 0,0,0,0, to 1,1,1,1,, I curve correct to from 0,0,0,0 to 0001 then to 1,0,0,1. I do not think this is a monitor collaboration issue, as have had this problem forever on so many different systems.
Below is a screenshot (i darkened the right half so you could see better).
I tried many different techniques all same result. Brushing with a 0% hard large brushgaussian blurring default black on a layer set to 11% opacity running all the blurs over and over again using eraser set to 0% hard adn large brush feathering a selection spatter filter in rgb mode, then covert to cmykadding noise .
I want to create a node on the intersection of two curves (eg bezier curves). Of course I can zoom in and try to be as near as possible, but it won't be exactly. Is it possible to exactly find the intersection?
I am preparing a batch of images for test submission, for a stock photo library.Recently a person working for one of the visual effects studios in London happened to tell me that these strict agencies use some set of layers that can separate tonality and color values to check for banding, dirtiness, noise and all those technical flaws that the human eye can't notice on a monitor. He said they perhaps have an action for it so that they can review faster.
He said that it is known as 'Craze Curves' or 'Visibility Curves' technique. He further added that all the studios use it before giving the final files to clients so that there is no issue in printing afterwards. It is sort of a quality control check and has been used by digital and advertising agencies all over the world.
But now his email seems to have changed and I can't get in touch with him to know how to use the technique.
I created a 2D planar sketch, now I need to create a 3D sketch and Helical curves, but as I enter into the 3D sketch mode, I cannot perform any functions, all my tool bar options are grayed out?
I want to create a 3d ployline from a 2d polyline with curves. When I use the convert 2d polyline to 3d polyline command it places a bunch of vertices along the curve so when I go to place elevations on the vertices it takes too long. I want to be able to give an elevation at the pc and pt and have it place elevations along the curve from this info like it does on the stright lines.
Am I the only one who has edited a stroke with the stroke width tool, then outlined the stroke only to find a countless number of points and noticeably unsmooth edges? Is there a setting or certain way to ensure that the stroke width tool won't corrupt the smoothness of my shapes? The stroke width tool is the most handy new feature I can imagine, but this problem makes it almost entirely useless, unless designing something where precision and smoothness are not important.
i have been using the drivenTime node to create walkcycles that follow motion path curves where the out time is connected to some attribute via a unitToTimeCOnversion node.in previous version of Maya.
When i try to connect anything to the Out Time of new drivenTime node the connection never works, not even keyframes?
API enhancement/fix in SP1: Cannot create a radius dimension on circular drawing curves projected from spline edges.Does it in some way trying to refer to the issue with nonplanar arcs turning into splines in drawings saved-as AutoCAD .DWG?
I have made a film and seperated it into frames. I was wondering whether there was a automated process in photoshop to help me create a similar effect to the image above.
Is it possible to create a Hi Res styled effect with Photoshop alone, or is it just down to the original images limitations? The high gloss and full depth luster look amazing, is that just down to a good image then tweaked?
I have attached a logo I want to create. The text is running through this silhouette I have made and when it runs through the silhouette I want to change the text from black to white in only the places it is on top of the silhouette so it can be read.
I have a machine and I want to make it look like it's sitting on a shiny smooth surface, and I want it to reflect on the surface.
I have played around with the liquify and I am apparently very bad at it because it just distorts it too much. I want it to be a fairly clean replica, like a mirror.
I have photographs of mine that I would like to use as sketches in my textbooks. Do you know how I can create a sketch/drawing effect of photographs with photoshop?
